Silver Wing Café was across from the International Hotel,(1970’s) it along with the I-Hotel was on the last block of maniatown Sf. manilatown once spanned 10 blocks. when i occasioned this café, i saw many manongs(llokano word for older brother) here chatting, smoking, and eating chinese food. i didn’t understand them, it was explained to me some spoke the llokano langage and some spoke tagalog, the first wave of filipino immigrantion to america was called the«manong generation». the food was cheap chinese fare. ok. doesn’t compare with what’s available today.
