Wow, my experience is the opposite of the Unilocal reviews! I was in the market for a WaterRower. Jim did not present himself professionally and the demo space is someone’s home.
Jim was unable to tell me when he would receive a shipment. He doesn’t sell accessories such as risers, seat pad, cover or floor pad and charges $ 40 for delivery & set up.
I contacted WaterRower directly and asked for other vendors in the Bay Area. The PreCor San Rafael retail store staff was extremely professional, they had 4 models of WaterRowers plus other rowing machine brands to test. This vendor had inventory on all rowing machine models, provided better pricing, plus accessories. I purchased the WaterRower & all accessories on the spot.

Follow up: Jim contacted me after reading my Unilocal review and apologized for the lack of service.

I recently purchased a Water Rower from LDA fitness.
I was able to quickly and easily schedule a time with Jim to some see the rowers. Jim was knowledgeable, pragmatic and a pleasure to work with. Jim came out to the house and set up the rower, described care of the equipment and took away all the boxes, etc.
I am now happily rowing! Thank you Jim for a great experience.

We just purchased a WaterRower from Jim and love it. After a great deal of research online we were still on the fence about a new rower. Jim was really flexible and let us stop by on a Saturday morning to check it out in person. We were sold on the spot. A few days later Jim delivered the WaterRower fully assembled and set to go. Super pleased with the customer service, and already love the WaterRower.

I spent awhile looking for a robust treadmill and had a hard time finding high quality equipment at a decent price. I contacted Jim, visited his showroom and he was really compelling because he had the latest models, had detailed knowledge of the equipment, and installed it himself. He gave me a great deal on a refurbished treadmill and helped install it in my home that day! We had a minor issue with and he fixed it quickly exactly as he promised. I highly recommend him and his company to anyone looking for quality equipment and great service.

I had been looking for a rowing machine for months. Jim had some floor model WaterRowers in stock at a great price and was willing to meet up on the weekend so I could try one out. He was very informative, professional, and gave us a deal on the machine.

Purchased a New Oxbridge Water Rower from LDA Fitness. Fantastic Service, went out of their way to answer all my questions and arrange a time to meet since I was out of the area. Will definitely look to them for more equipment.

I had a great experience working with Jim. He is extremely knowledgeable about the fitness machine markets and his products, but what makes him special is that when you get together to talk about what you want and why versus what you don’t want and why, he really listens to you and then gives you thoughtful options that took my less than fully-​shaped ideas and turned them into a great solution for me — an Octane elliptical cross-​trainer based on a recumbent bike. I am enjoying my workouts now — no more «saddle sore» from the upright exercise bike — and I am working many parts of my body, not just my legs. This will make me healthier while I am enjoying doing the work. In short, Jim is responsive, friendly, full of good ideas and he gave me a very fair price for the equipment on an «all in» basis. And, he stressed his after-​purchase customer service, which I have no reason to doubt based on what I’ve already seen. When the equipment arrived, he was at my house within days at the time of the schedule appointment to set it up, test it and show me enough to get me started. And, within a week, he sent me an email to see how it was going, if I was pleased with the Octane unit and if I had any questions for him. Jim is a hard-​working but very easy to work with small business person, the kind we want to keep and support in a large City. Highest rating, well-​deserved.

bought some VTX bumper plates and an olympic bar for my home gym from Lda Fitness. got a great deal on them and Jim, the owner, was super helpful and easy to deal with. if you dont know it, isnt easy finding these items within the city– unless you want the cheap junk stuff from one of the chains stores. i will definitely go through them again for any future needs

WOW!!! I just wish all companies were as responsive, helpful, dependable and customer friendly as LDA Fitness. From the first phone call to follow up e-​mails and calls, Jim was a real professional. You could tell that he really cared about his customers and the importance of customer satisfaction. He and his super nice helper Freddie delivered our Octane Q47c elliptical yesterday morning. They were right on time and quickly completed the final assembly. Talk about customer service: Jim and Freddie even moved a small sofa down the hall to our bedroom to make room for the elliptical in our new exercise room. Jim’s pricing was very reasonable in comparison to his competition. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND Jim/​LDA Fitness to anyone contemplating purchasing gym equipment!!!

Recently bought a reconditioned StarTrac NXT spin bike for my growing home gym.
Bike was very nicely refurbished, totally reasonable price — have been riding it happily for a few days now and it feels better than most bikes at the gym.
Experience was seamless and easy. Jim was incredibly responsive and upfront.
I was really happy to find this kind of place in SF (instead of having to drive to Hayward).
Definitely will buy further equipment from these guys as I need it, and they have it

Jim and Fred just came to deliver our new Octane Q47c elliptical — it looks great, and I can’t wait to use it!
My husband had been working with Jim to make the purchase and chose to buy from him because he was quick, friendly, and responsive via email and offered us a very competitive price (despite the fact that we could have had the price matched by some of the sleazier fitness equipment companies around).
Originally we had just coordinated to have the elliptical delivered to our garage via a trucking company. To work with our schedule, Jim came personally with his first-​hand-​man Fred and a zipvan. When Jim and Fred arrived, I asked if they could bring it up to our front door, which is up 2 flights of stairs (note: this had not been part of the original discussion). Even though they were running late to return the zipvan (someone had reserved it right after them), they decided they couldn’t leave it on the ground level garage for us to carry up — so they brought it up the 2 flights of stairs. Then they insisted on bringing it up the 3^rd and final flight of stairs so we could just roll it into place!
I was very impressed by their work ethic and great customer service. I would definitely recommend working with LDA Fitness.
P. S. You should contact Jim/​LDA Fitness before just showing up at the location listed here. We did that originally and didn’t realize it was behind a buzzer/​locked door. Call/​Email first and make an appointment!

Jim & his crew are awesome! Would highly recommend them.
We bought a couple of pieces of equipment from him recently. He has been responsive, professional, hard-​working and very helpful. He shows up on time, is thoughtful, emails back on weekends. Great customer service and can-​do attitude. Love that!

I had Jim at LDA upgrade my EZbike from a lead acid to a lithium battery. He came out to my house, picked up my bike and delivered back to my house in 1 week. He was punctual, courteous and upfront about the costs. Very satisfied customer.

I couldn’t have been happier with my buying experience from LDA Fitness. Jim is prompt, courteous, resourceful and enthusiastic. He had the Octane elliptical machine that I wanted and it was in my house less than 24 hours after I first contacted him, at a great price AND he recycled my old machine.

We needed an archaic STEX moved down 2 flights of stairs and these intelligent hard working men did it! Also, they informed me of a plug in issue that saved me good money knowing I didn’t have to install a foreign plug. Thanks guys!
