Seed Studio

Steve from Seed Studio did a beautiful job designing a relaxing space for our small neglected SOMA backyard. We spend so much time there now we almost feel like we added another room to our condo, for a fraction of the price. Highly recommended.

From the get go I knew I had found the right designer for my project — communicative, extremely easy to work with, and creatively unique. I’ve lived in my space for 10 years and had spent countless hours (and dollars) trying to ‘do it myself’ in what I had always considered a tiny front yard, and one which has to withstand a busy urban environment and a neighborhood of dog lovers. Steve asked excellent questions to help establish priorities and produced a landscape beyond my expectations! The amount of privacy, lushness and beauty that greets me when I return home is both brilliant and an improvement that I could never have dreamed was possible. Finally, a piece of my home that I am in love with and can’t wait to see grow and transform. I would not hesitate to recommend him to those of you property owners looking to expand your enjoyment of your livable space.

Just wanted to give a year update after our landscaping was finished. The garden has exploded this summer all the plants, trees and flowers are thriving! We have an organic vegetable garden in pots that are doing really well and look beautiful (peas, tomatos, strawberries, huckleberries, blueberries and elderberries!). Everything has grown in very nicely and the space is just becomming more beautiful every month!

Steve Ritchey at SeedStudio enabled us to transform our useless, cramped, unattractive back yard space into a beautiful, fully functional, extension of our livable space. Process was great, Steve listened to our wants and wishes, came and walked the space with us, and shortly thereafter came back with initial designs. Some revisions were made as needed. He helped us find a good contractor to partner with, and was available and present at every stage of construction. We really feel like the money we spent engaging with Seed Studio was some of the best value for the dollar we’ve ever had. We’ll work with Steve again, and highly recommend him to you as well :)

Steve Ritchey of Seed Design is a talent and was really cool to work with. He was exactly the type of landscape designer we were looking to partner with on redesigning our backyard space in San Francisco. He designed a beautiful, unique, clean, modern space for us.
