At the first visit, the Sears person (Dale) analyzed the problem and said the only way to fix it is with new remotes. So I bought new remotes. Total service cost $ 213. Next day, the garage door opens randomly by itself, several times each day. Only way to deal with it turn of the power once the door is closed. I called Sears and was told the circuitboard is broken. I was surprised to hear that since I never had that problem before and, what is the chance of the circuitboard breaken just exactly the day Dale came to analyze it???
So, I had another service call, Dale told me the same thing, and said the best thing is to buy a new unit (he had one on his truck). He installed it for $ 499 plus service call $ 50. An ok deal, but still, not the greatest experience. I get the feeling that remotes he gave me were not compatible with my old system, or something.
