I came into this store on Thursday, November 5 around 5pm. I was excited to see what Scotch & Soda was all about because I met their regional manager several weeks ago and she had great style. Unfortunately, this store has CRAPPY customer service! The worst I’ve ever experienced, and I’ve been in the retail industry since 2007 so I know the good from the bad. As soon as I got into the store nobody greeted me. I was immediately confused because the men’s and women’s clothing looks so similar. It would have been nice to know how the store was laid out. I found a sweater that I really liked, picked up my size, and continued to browse the store. There were two people at the register, one had to have been a manager, and NEITHER of them said a word to me. Continued looking, and on two different encounters I was literally RIGHTNEXT to the only girl working and she NEVER asked me if I needed any help. Such a shame because I also saw a few pairs of denim that I wanted to try on. At this point I was irritated with their service, so I asked her myself where the women’s clothing was. She answered and that was it. I continued shopping, but then decided I didn’t want to try on and purchase their expensive clothing if I wasn’t going to be given the customer service expected of a boutique on Fillmore Street. On my way out, another male associate smirked at me(couldn’t get a full smile??) and I asked him who their store manager was. Josh aka«JP», if you’re reading this: I hope you take this review into consideration and inform your team not to ignore customers if you want to make sales.

Good quality, reasonable price, excellent details, the 50% summer sale is a real steal. I really like the men’s collection at Scotch & Soda. Simple style with refreshing color, good material and great tailoring. Would recommend this store for a wardrobe update. Why the 3-star then? The return policy! Exchange only for full price items, no exchange or return for items on sale. I can understand if there are certain items that are final sale, but no return on full price seems a bit unnecessary to me…

Amsterdam based apparel for both men and women. Many unique items, leather pants, printed sweaters with wood buttons, luxury fabrics in rich fall colors. Easy to like these clothes. I was gift shopping and found beautiful men’s shirts, in patterns that stand out from the crowd. Prices are fair for the quality and styles are multi-generational. Buy quality and wear forever, this store epitomizes that truism.

Really unique, trendy pieces — things no one would be able to identify right away where you bought them or who made them. They have some great sales as well. The staff is really friendly, but sometimes it’s hard to find them just by the aisle-like set up of the store. Definitely a great installment on Fillmore.

Beautiful, beautiful clothes but not-so-much customer service. They have some gorgeous pieces that are paired with pretty jewelry but I waited for days to try to talk to the sales lady about a price and the jewelry. I waited patiently while she was chatting with a friend instead of helping me out but then I just got frustrated and left. It’s definitely worth checking out this boutique but they were not very hands on with helping out the clients. Bummer.

After having coffee at Jane, my friend Sandy and I began ambling down Fillmore Street to do some leisurely shopping. ‘What are you shopping for today?’, asked Sandy. ‘An olive green anorak. Though I’ve been on the hunt for months and have yet to find the one… so, I promise I won’t put too much time into it.‘ Not even 2 minutes later, I spotted ‘the one’ through Scotch and Soda’s front window. It wasn’t even in the display window but somehow it still grabbed my attention from the front racks. Within minutes, the totally-attentive-but-not-annoying sales associate found my size in the back. And it was indeed perfect: a longer length anorak with a detachable hood, sleeves meant for rolling up, a distressed olive hue with a standout lining and a waist-nipping cord. Sold! The shop bills themselves as a purveyor of ‘Amsterdam couture’, and though I’m unable to vouch as I’ve never been to Amsterdam, the style screams relaxed, impossibly cool Euro. It is a bit pricey, but the pieces look to be well-made and are designed with unique details… new favorite boutique? Time will tell.

Great hip clothing store in the Fillmore area. The store and the employees are cool and stylish. The place is long and narrow. Round curtained dressing rooms and big mirrors making the place look bigger as you meander your way through the clothing racks. I like Scotch and Soda… its worth a look.

New fave brand alert! I was surprised while walking past Scotch & Soda, because judging by the storefront, it appeared to be a) men’s clothes only and b) expensive. To my surprise, they had a ton of women’s clothes, and a bunch of stuff on sale throughout the store! Many of the women’s shirts seemed to come with a cute pendant. Everything in the store is neat and stylish, and the employees have these interesting packs as part of their«outfit» … very steampunk. Now if they’d just open one up in LA…

I LOVE the Scotch and Soda brand, and am SO excited to see the first SF store opening up on Fillmore St. in a few days! I first shopped here in Miami a few years ago when their store in the design district first opened, and recently went to the Amsterdam store(so cool!) on one of the Negen Straatjes(nine streets of great shopping!) a few weeks back. I would define the clothing line as relaxed chic with tons of style and tasteful details. They have their own upscale take on casual that is based on high quality, in a comfortable European unique sense. They carry men’s, women’s, and children’s clothes, plus accessories including belts and hand bags. It’s pretty pricy, but totally worth having those few signature stand out pieces in your closet. Having traveled a lot to Amsterdam, I think it is fitting that it’s described as Amsterdam Couture. Amsterdamers have become pretty fashionable over the past 5 years. I stopped by the Fillmore — soon to be opened store — today and was so excited to see the name on the building and Scotch and Soda staff chillin on a break out front. They told me that it officially opens this Thursday(9÷27÷12) as a pop up store. There will be another store opening on Grant near the downtown shopping area. Scotch and Soda,(eyes lowered and in a creepy Mr. Burns voice) I’ve been waiting for you, WELCOME to the bay!
