I loved this place while it was here. It is sad to see it go. I really enjoyed the pizza here. This pizza place was the best Stones Town mall had. I wish it stayed because I would have come back to enjoy this pizza here.

I will always remember Sbarro as Michael Scott’s favorite pizza joint in New York City(The Office, Season 2 Episode 16). But sadly, that’s about all the fond memories I have for this pizza place. If you have never had Sbarro before, just imagine combining the worst attributes of School Cafeteria pizza with the worst attributes of Costco pizza. You know the cheese on the pizza is not fresh when it gives off that translucent-like color. Kinda like if you microwave mozarella and then you leave it out for a long time. Yeah, kinda like that. I understand that I should not expect that much from a chain pizza company, but this would be pretty unacceptable even for a person with NO expectations. The only saving grace for Sbarro is that they have pretty good prices. For a hungry guy with only five bucks in his pocket, then maybe Sbarro is alright.(But personally, I’ll find two friends and just do the 5−5−5 deal at Dominoes) At least now I have a really powerful quote to express how hungry I am. «I’m so hungry I could eat at Sbarro.»(Stolen from Chris, Family Guy)

I had my first experience here a few months back and it was not pleasant. I hope they have changed their ways. I came around closing time, and there was an indecisive person in front of me trying to figure out what she wanted. She finally figured out that she wanted a whole pepperoni pizza. She paid the worker with cash, and then he handed her change. After the transaction was completed, he told me to hold on. He then proceeded to add pepperoni slices to a cheese pizza, without washing his hands or wearing gloves. I was utterly disgusted at this sight. How unsanitary. It makes me wonder what he does in the back room when no one is watching. Anyways, when he was done putting that in the oven, I asked him if they were making any more stromboli. He told me that he was not, so I just got a bread stick since I did not want any pizza. I handed him the money, and he gave me my change. He then grabbed a piece of foil, and plopped it on top of the bread stick and handed it to me.
I sent a letter to corporate about this incident, and got a call back apologizing about their sub par sanitary conditions. The man whom I spoke with told me that he personally would go and have a talk with the owner and staff. I really appreciated his thoughtfulness, and his understanding on why this is unacceptable.

I only ever come here for their baked ziti only. I used to also ask for their potato side but it’s just too pricey. Their bread stick is good except recently it shrunk again. Today, the lady that was helping me got the bowl, tilted it right into the food before scooping it because she wasn’t tall enough to reach over. Not that I’m against short people or anything but they need to either not put their dishes so far out of reach or help the lady with a pedestal out something. Because of what she did, one side of the dish looks really bad and unappealing like someone ate from it already. Selling food is also about presentation and is it’s not presented well, no one will want it.

I work in the mall, and was a usual to Sbarro. I’ve had great experiences with Sbarro in the past(in different malls). I came on two separate occasions to this«restaurant» and received the same terrible service. The first day I ordered a slice of pizza and specifically asked for a small drink. As they ring me out I see they charge me for a large drink, when I inquire about it they tell me it’s the only size they have, just as I saw the girl who ordered ahead of me receive a small. I was hungry and tired so I said screw it and paid for it. I came the next day giving them one more chance, and ordered the same meal, with the same mexican woman, and put the same emphasis on the small drink. When I get to the cashier they once again charge me for a large drink. When I inquire about it again they tell me to stop complaining, and talk down to me as they show me the two sizes they have. I ask if they can fill it half way and they laugh at me. I stormed away saying this was the worst place I have ever eaten at. Don’t eat here, they try to nickel and dime every cent out of you for sub par pizza and terrible and lazy employees.

I had their stuffed pizza which was not bad. Their garlic bread is really yummy. Can’t wait to try more from this place.

Had to stop by the mall for a quick lunch after a job fair in south San Francisco. I have to say, it was an interesting experience. I ordered the chicken Parmesan with spaghetti sauce, and the guy up-sold me the meal. Hey, I get a free salad right? Salad’s good for you I heard. I chose the Caesar salad and then accompanied it with a Pepsi. I figure the sugar would do me good. Out came this nicely placed spaghetti dish with a slab of chicken, a miniature stick of bread, and a small paper bowl of salad. It reminded me exactly of airplane food! Too bad the taste was just as unremarkable. It was an honest man’s meal, too bad those aren’t something to rave about.

I haven’t had this food in a long time. I’ve only eaten the pizza here and it’s only ok. I haven’t nor do I want to try their other foods. They don’t look too appetizing. The great thing about this place is you get a pretty big slice, at least from I remember when I was a child however things could change. When you order your slice, they just pop it in their big oven and heat for a few seconds. Then they take it out an serve it to you on a plate. It’s usually really oily. The one that I would normally get was the combo but I remember liking their stuffed pizza. When I was a child I enjoyed the pizza but maybe my tastes have changed since I tried better places to eat? I’m not sure, but I definitely know there are a LOT better places to get some pizza. I wouldn’t come here unless I was crawling from starvation in Stonestown and Sbarro was the closest thing to me.

Since Panda was shut down, me and my boyfriend decided to get food here. We shared the combo 1 which you get a pan pizza, side, and a drink for less than $ 9. Their hawaiian pizza is alright and the lady that helped us out heated up our bread sticks and when we ate it, it was still cold. I think the only thing I liked about my hawaiian pizza was the crust cause it was so crispy.

Hardly better than par for mall food. Ask them to heat up the slices a little more — it makes them taste better.

Ruuuuuuuuun! For the love of God just ruuun for your liiife(literally, your liife)!!! haha. Why? Worst lasagna I have ever tasted from a place that claims to serve«Italian» food. Yeah, riiiight, more like Italy-wannabe! The lasagna sits in this weird looking sauce that is just… yuck! I don’t have high expectations for the food court, but honestly, I could make a much better lasagna, and I have! Then there’s the Cesar salad, the easiest salad to make, yet they just can’t get it right! They need to get the cabbage-like lettuce, it is crunchy and the appropriate lettuce for a Cesar salad. Instead, they have the flat kind for sandwiches(in my opinion, I think it’s even too flat for sandwiches, aka, totally dead!). Also, why do they seem surprised when I tell them I don’t want a free drink? If it was free water, sure, why not? But soda, no thank you, I don’t drink carbonated beverages. The lady actually asked me twice and looked at me in amazement when I told her I didn’t want a drink. One good thing about this place used to be their garlic bread, but now it’s dry, definitely not fresh and they just have it layed out in the open. It’s bread! Cover it up or else it’ll get dry! Oh right, it’s already dry, I see their point. Yikes! A lot of their food doesn’t seem fresh. They used to have decent pizza, but it hasn’t been at least«decent» in a very very long time. So yeah, just run, like I did. I ran right over to the California Crisp and got myself a fresh Cesar salad. :) With that said, you are so welcome! I assume I just saved your digestive system major torment! Peace. :)

Do you know how many times I have tried this place? And how many locations I’ve attempted to ‘like’ despite this location?! Well, the food is boring. It looks nice and fresh, but it’s all boring, bland, and resembles the texture of gnawing on cardboard saturated in tomato sauce. Underwhelming. Prices = expensive given the flavorless of the food. Even their salads are disappointing. Go somewhere else in the mall…

Not good, even for mall food court fare. I usually get a cheesesteak-type of thing at food courts, but decided to try something new(it is the new year, after all). Stuffed pepperoni+sausage pizza was lukewarm, salty, and pricey.

I was craving Italian and made the mistake of buying lunch at Sbarro’s. The chicken parmesan was lukewarm, the bread was cold and greasy, and the spaghetti… well, let’s just say I could’ve made it better, even when I was 15. The whole meal was pretty expensive($ 9 for all that, a drink, and a salad.) Should’ve gone somewhere else instead.

I made the mistake of eating here for lunch instead of Tokyo Express. My sister(why am I listening to my sister all of a sudden?) said their lunch deal of a drink, pasta and salad was good($ 8). So I buy the tonkatsu special at Tokyo Express for my mother and the Kid and I hopped on over to Sbarros to grab their lunch special. I ordered their baked ziti, green salad and a pop. They threw in a piece of cold, greasy bread. The bread should have been a great indicator because the rest of the ziti was lukewarm bordering on cold. How can something be cold when it’s sitting in a steam table? Do they not turn on the oven underneath the table to actually make it work? Unlike Italia Express, their pasta was not freshly made. The guy scooped up what looked like mac and cheese from the steam table and grudgingly put sauce on it. I say grudgingly because the sauce was non existent. Why so cheap? Like someone else said, the most decent thing about the whole meal was the salad. That was at least good. I ate my cold pasta while I watched my mother and the Kid hungrily tear into the tonkatsu… :( Never again…

You know what’s really weird about this place? The pizza tastes like day-old, reheated pizza that you might eat for breakfast. The way the cheese sticks on the dough, and everything has sort of congealed together. I must say, I do love how that kind of pizza tastes… but not when it’s supposed to be fresh!

eating at sbarro is always a hit or miss… either the food is disgustingly nasty, or it’s decent… it’s just hard to tell what you’ll get on your particular visit… overall, their food is pretty bland and i wish the temperature was a little hotter too…

If I have a break from class or am in the area for shopping I usually stop by good old Sbarro for a quick and cheap Italian meal. I usually like getting a slice of cheese pizza which is usually pretty greasy but still satisftying! or the chicken parmigiana which also comes with pasta. I also loves how this place gives you a roll of bread along with your meal! This place is not bad… but at least there are never really any long lines or waits like there is at the Olive Garden in front of th mall.
