i’m so glad this place exists. this is definitely a great place for salad or soup and sandwich. lots of organic choices ! this is my go to place for«fast food«. try the chicken chipotle salad or the split pea soup ! also, very friendly service.

Pathetic service. I’m giving a 1 star because that’s the lowest I can give. The service is rude and very unfriendly! You’ll be surprised to see the manager MR. OSDY will comment on you when you ask him for a soup tasting. Very biased and Undoubtedly racial. Stay away from this because no one deserves to be treated this way.

Worse soup and service you can get. I ordered the chicken tortilla soup absolutely no taste, no flavor, stale bread — overall horrible service and food. Stay away! Want a tray or napkin? Haha good luck they make you carry your hot soup.

I would much rather go to the Macy’s in Union Square and go to Boudin SF. This place is so mediocre. Although it’s decently priced, their bread bowls are hard to chew and the soups just do not taste amazing(albeit I’ve only tried their vegetarian soups). I’d probably just stick to the basic tomato soup if I were to come back here again. Their corn chowder was mediocre.

Gerald the manager did not care nor did the staff. Had bugs in my salad! They did nothing to rectify the situation. Got refund but thats it. I used to love this place, not anymore for their unclean food & very sad Customer Service. Eat at your own risk!

Honestly the worst customer service ever. I’ve never seen two employees so rude. I asked about the ingredients and she rolled her eyes, shrugged, said she didn’t know, and walked off. That literally happened. And for some reason I decided to buy something there anyways and the two employees started dissing the customer in front of me underneath their breath in Spanish.

Ugh! I hate to write bad review for soup as I frequently visit the One Market location and I love it. However, today I went for lunch and ordered the kimchee chicken immunity soup. When I got all the way home and opened it, it had REDMEAT in it. I looked up the soups of the day to see what they could’ve mixed it up with(i.e. What the hell am I about to eat) and they had no options with red meat. The scary thing about this is that I’ve had he kimchee soup dozens of times and it was the exact same soup except with red meat instead of chicken. On top of this, I had this happen about a year ago when I visited this location and I wrote them an email and never got a reply! I don’t think I’ll be eating at any soup co location again. This is unacceptable! Especially if people may have dietary restrictions.

The soup is always tasty. It’s also so hot it takes ten minutes before you can eat it they also have a variety of dairy and gluten free options.

downstairs food court near bloomingdale’s home entrance… san francisco soup company counter and stall… order of the regular sized new england clam chowder(white creamy version) $ 6.74 after tax… complimentary choice of cold sourdough bread… surprisingly good soup… thick and hearty with plenty of clam in every bite… not salty like other chowders… was quite good…

I love this place for the Ceasar Salad. My first time I had the salad and a soup. The soup I choose was the Chicken Noodle, I was disappointed. I make so much better homemade soup. This seemed overcooked or something. So not a fan of the soup. Hesitant to try the others. The salad was great and a good value. That is why I return.

Just found a huge bug in my salad and the manager didn’t care. Said it was because lettuce was organic and just refunded my $ 3. Yuck

There are two ways to look at this outpost of SF Soup Company. 1) For the soup. For that? It’s fine. They have the regular assortment of soups that you’d expect as well as the daily specials that change up, well, daily. There’s usually a line out the door during the lunch rush but they move quickly because, I mean, they’re putting soup in a container. It’s not a time consuming process. Prices are reasonable/in-line with other SF Soup Locations and they had a kimchi soup once I wanted to try that looked interesting, so you know they’ll switch it up. 2) For the salads. The line, as mentioned, is out the door, except that line isn’t actually the salad line. You can scoot by the main line in order to get to the salad line, which is usually shorter, but that means it’s now incumbent on me, the customer, to ask other customers to move out of my way, which is always awkward. Additionally, the ingredients are fairly minimal, though they do allow you to choose either a pre-made choice or just make your own. But there have been plenty of times I’ve been third in the salad line and the man I assume to be the owner or manager of the franchise will be saying«get some soup and avoid the line!» when the salad line isn’t moving and the soup line has emptied, which just gets on my nerves. The salad station is habitually understaffed, and they tout the option to get your salad chopped but no one chooses that, because it’s a lot like waiting to untie your shoes until you get to the scanner at the airport — you’re going to get an endless set of death stares from folks in the salad line if you choose that. If you want soup, and that seems like something you’d often want in a city like SF where it’s so chilly, this is a fine place to go. But as a place to get salad during lunch, you can do better.

Delicious, fresh, organic, local salads with the most delicious beets I have ever tasted. I tried the«wellness salad»(off menu) & it was fantastic. Reasonably priced too. Service was slow but overall good!

Detox. Under the weather and looking to play offense. Golden Beet & Kale Detox was advertised as full of antioxidants. Sold. Hard to believe something with just 140 calories could have so much flavor. Beets were rich and substantial. Kale less prominent but added a nice texture. They were joined by potatoes, cabbage, carrots, celery, spices in a vegetable broth. Always enjoy the wheat roll too. Especially when dunked in soup. $ 6 for all. Delicious.

This is my tried and true go-to places for my salads. I know of few other places that provide you local, organic, produce in their salads, a customizable salad that weighs a substantial amount when they are done, and at a more than reasonable price. The staff is always been friendly and accommodating. Note: There are two lines at this location. The shorter one on the left is for their salads(Grilled Chicken Cobb with heavy blue cheese is my regular salad), and the normally longer one on the right is for their soups/bread-bowls. Don’t get in the longer one on the right if all you want is a salad. When understaffed they can be a bit slow, but they are consistently good. There are, at this location only sit-down tables that are part of the larger Mall food court area, so seating can be challenging during convention lunchtimes(and a bit loud). But very few other salad places that I’ve tried in SF have all the qualities(affordability, quality, organic, local) that this place has and I highly recommend it.

SF Soup Co is pretty pricey for what it is but it never fails to hit the spot. How it works: Get a couple of soup samples, pick one(this is the hardest part), grab a piece of bread, pay, and go about your merry way. I usually stick with the Southwestern Corn Chowder, which is loaded with crunchy sweet corn, potato chunks, and deliciousness. Perfect for a cold weather, which we will have plenty of in the coming months.

My lunch spots used to be Bio and Mixed Greens in Union Square until these places just get so crazy with long lines and incompetent to speed up the lunch crowd. I discover SF Soup Company in the Westfield Food Court one day when I bought Blue Bottle coffee beans at Caffe Central. It’s very simple: two lines, one for soup and the other for salad. You order the salad and tell them how spicy and how much you want the dressing to be. I usually get the Chipotle Chicken($ 8.99) with small amount of dressing. It’s a huge bowl of mixed greens with corns, black beans, shredded grilled chicken and tortilla crumbs. Kudo to the guy who tossed my salad. He was very cordial to ask if that little amount of dressing I asked was really enough. See how good customer service can go a long way? I also don’t witness the favoritism for the soup line. You don’t get to be served first if you order soup; and likewise for the cashier line. You also get complimentary bread for your salad or soup. Service is very nimbly and friendly. This is my new salad spot for lunch.

The soup is good and the menu is nice and simple. Easy to read, so easy to order. We had the tomato bisque, the smoky split pea and half a hummus wrap. Of the soups our favourite was the tomato bisque, though it tasted a lot like cheese. And the smoky split pea, really just lentil soup and not at all smoky. But, both soups were delicious and made up a good meal. It’s nice to order with someone you know you can share food with, because then you’re not just eating the same soup the entire time, but you get to have one bite here, one bite there and never get bored! As for the hummus wrap. It’s not for me. The hummus tastes like the chickpeas had been in a brine and it lacks something like tomato on the wrap. I wish I would have gone with the California veggie and cheese sandwich, but oh well, you don’t taste, you don’t discover.
