San Francisco Soccer

I have been playing at SF Soccer for a couple years now — Men’s Champs Winter ’11! — and love playing there. The league is *pretty* well run… Granted, it’s a rec sports league so it won’t run as efficiently as the Post Office (terrible example?) but SFS gets the job done and the facility/​refs are terrific. The skill level varies, but there is plenty of talent and the competition is intense.
About SFS: Leagues run ~3 months at a time. The field is outdoors but it’s smaller and we play with indoor-​league rules (e.g. 5-​on-​5 plus a goalie; no offsides; smaller goals; 25min halves). There are single-​sex leagues and co-​ed leagues and players can either sign up solo or sign up with buddies to make your own team.
Overall it’s a blast and I’m thrilled to play every week. See you on the pitch!

I just moved to SF from San Diego and I’m a big fan of playing soccer at Telegraph Field. The vibe is good playing on Friday nights and the refs seem pretty good so far!
