Rob painted the outside of my home a few years ago and I was generally pleased with the overall outcome, although I had hoped that the sanding could have resulted in a smoother, cleaner look. Since the house is old and it had been a long time since the last painting, I assumed that he did the best prep job that could be done short of replacing some of the boards. So I believe that he did at least an adequate job. I then hired him to paint an interior room and there were a few quality problems, some of which he agreed to fix, and some which I resigned myself to believing were due at least partly to my lack of communication about my expectations, etc. So fast forward to this summer, because Rob is such a nice guy and his prices are so reasonable, and because the work he had done before was adequate, I hired him to paint the exterior of a new wooden window — — also because I thought how could anything go wrong. We agreed on a price for 2 coats and he arrived on time, and nicely agreed to wash the outside of the window as long as he was up on the ladder. He came down from the ladder within ½ hour and announced that he had washed the window(he had), and also had applied 2 coats of paint. I was surprised that there had been no drying time between coats, but he assured me that the first coat was completely dry by the time he had finished painting it. I don’t pretend to be an expert painter, but I have discussed the drying time required with my neighborhood paint store and they suggest at least 24 hours. Writing this to let others know that Rob may take shortcuts/take advantage/or simply have another opinion about proper painting techniques, but this is something to be aware of. I have chosen to hire another painter to add another coat to my window to protect it further before the rainy season. I won’t hire him again.

I have had my home painted three previous times during the past thirty years. The most recent job was done by rob finn painting. It is by far the best paint job that has been done. They workmen did three full days of prep work on the shingles. Previous jobs have done about a half day of prep work. I think this makes a huge difference in how long the paint job holds up. The workmen are professional and competent and I highly recommend this company for work.
