Even though it is a combo bar and gallery I found the wait staff to be rude. I was overcharged for my drinks, under poured, and to top it off they added more to the gratuity on my credit card than I had authorized and I had left a cash tip. I liked the event, but this venue left a bad taste in my mouth.

My partner had a birthday party there last month and I could not have been more pleased with the service — bartenders, the«bouncer,» and the manager, Sonie. This was the perfect spot for a great party for 100 people. My close friend was the DJ and he commented on how great the sound system was. My friends and I arrived 2 hours prior to the party to set up the lighting design, cup cake stand, and the Photo-matica booth. I would definitely recommend having a party at Project One. Did I mention that there is ample street parking?

Sean & Isabel are the new owners and they awesome. They operate Chambers and Mighty and are some of the best operators in SF. With a great location and size, I’m expecting this place to be amazing and I look forward to spending a lot of time here.

Came here for my friends’ launch party which they rented out so it wasn’t the usual bar/lounge scene. What caught my eye were the beautiful and various styled art all over their walls! Something you’ll probably leave unnoticed when the lights are off because it’s usually a bar scene. The rest of the location is painted black all over. They have an elevated stage spot for djs and a projector screen for the event which was cool. Other than that, the venue is slightly small for a club but great for a lounge. They have cute booths alongside the large room for people to sit too! Probably won’t be back for a random bar visit but a venue to keep in mind to use for other purposes!

intriguing location loaded with possibilities. At night there’s actually loads of street parking. Gallery in front has plenty of room for large works and group shows. The crowd leans towards hipster with quite a few fashion overloads. The bar keep the party going. The bartenders are friendly and love having their pic taken. A dream for this photog. The back lounge has enough space for a group to sit and a dance floor in front of the DJ of the moment. The layout flows nicely from gallery to bar to lounge. Good lighting, well curated art. Is that because the most awesome Brooke is in charge? Great place for a private party. I’d be honored to show my work in the gallery,

Stuck on bay bridge. Turns on radio. Wtf is this. This isn’t music. Sign 83 that you are old. Music today is really bad to you. The 90’s. Those were the days. Aaliyah, TLC, Evelyn champagne, biggie, groove theory, hi five. R n B and hip hop golden years I call it. Yes I’m originally from Oakland and I had a lot of «urban friends» This place doesn’t get too crowded and people here are usually the same age. Nice comfy sofas. Drinks are stiff and bartenders are great. This place brings me back to a time when there was no recession, money was rolling in and not a care in the world. Just give me my Hennessey and let’s get down. Oh I how miss these days. Keep the music playing guys! Aight dawgs peace out!

Wait — there’s a lounge in San Francisco with reasonably priced, good drinks and solid music? Lies and slander! Project One is a hidden but fantastic small venue snuggled into the bottom of Potrero Hill. Featuring 1.5 bars(back room sometimes will feature a miniature cash bar) and one of the best light shows outside of Ruby Skye, it’s a fantastic venue for independent and up and coming electronic musicians. During the day Project One is a great art gallery, and some of the more durable exhibits remain on the wall for you to browse and peruse when shuffling just isn’t your jam. The back room(which serves as the heart of the gallery) is also a great redoubt from the heat and electricity of the main dance floor and is an excellent reprieve. One of the most amazing things about Project One are its bartenders. I can’t believe I’m saying this, but one of the best Old Fashioned’s I’ve ever had came from a lounge. The bartenders at Project One mix great drinks and prices are fair. Unfortunately, they don’t seem to have the balance of juggling quality with speed on the more busy nights, and thus lose the 5 stars in my book. Project One is still evolving as a venue. I’ve visited it for both hip hop and EDM nights, and I see how it could be a great venue for other events as well. I’m really excited Potrero is getting in on the nightlife action, and I’m looking forward to more nights at Project One.

Went here for a birthday party this past weekend. It’s a lovely space with plenty of parking. There’s plenty of places to sit, beautiful artwork to admire and take pictures in front of, and the let the birthday boy get creative with the cocktails. Definitely coming back.

I wish guys would think with their right head… Project One is one of the coolest venues in San Francisco. With an urban glam ambiance, Project One is a warehouse transformed into part art gallery, part lounge with eye-catching, glittery artwork that made me go gaa-gaa. Think a mini 111 Minna but much swankier. The leather banquettes for bottle service(four sections) were sleek yet plushy. The state of the art sound system made each beat crisp which did justice to hip hop classics from Tupac and Notorious B.I.G. Not to mention, finding street parking was a breeze. Everything about Project One screams 5 stars except someone(presumably a man?) was thinking with their wee wee and not with their thinking cap when designing the place. For a 200 – 300 person venue, WHY would you only have two restrooms!!! Two unisex restrooms with ONE toilet each. Doing the pee pee dance was not cool! You know if a woman was designing a place, the first thing she would think of are THE restrooms. Not only making sure that they were pretty but plenty of them. I came here for the Above Ground party last Friday and the line for the restroom was SO effen long that there was a 20 – 30 minute wait! Had I known, I would of worn Depends. Anyhow, Above Ground now hosts their 1990s-Now(Hip Hop and R&B) party every first Friday of the month at Project One. They previously held their parties at 330 Ritch until some goon(probably with a itsy bitsy wee wee) decides to shoot up the place after a physical altercation causing 330 Ritch to shut down. Cover is $ 5 before 11 pm if you’re on the guest list; $ 10 thereafter. There’s no dress code so save your hoochie, I can see your coochie gear for elsewhere ladies. Aside for the urban glam ambiance of Project One, the music at Above Ground’s party was awesome as usual. With 90s favorites from Tupac, SWV, New Edition, and NAS to today’s hits from Kendrick Lamar, 2 Chainz, and , the dj had us all on the dance floor. The crowd was very mixed and most were in their late 20s so thank you for not making me feel like a grandmama. Get there early so you can pre-fade in the car because it was nearly impossible to get a drink here after 11 pm(cocktails were $ 8-$ 9). One bar with three bartenders is just not enough for several hundreds of people. Unless they exercise some crowd control(it was packed like sardines that night), I hope they have makeshift bars in the gallery area in the future. My friends and I were having a blast dancing until Mr. Fernet was calling my name at the bar. The wait for a drink was insane(20+ minutes) so like any smart lush would do I decided to get a double shot of Fernet neat. Only I forgot that alkie is a diuretic and I was doing the pee pee dance again. I was NOT about to wait another 20 – 30 minutes to use the restroom so I left Project One looking for a restroom elsewhere. Only I was so blasted that I forgot to go back into Project One. Damn you, Mr. Fernet! Until next month, Project One. Until next month…

Great space! The walls are covered head to toe with awesome art pieces. The scorpion/Marilyn in glitter might have been my fav. They’re hosting a new monthly event that started this past Saturday: United, which features a line-up of all women DJs. This month it was DJs Didje Kelli, Elz, and Sandra — pretty good music, the second set was def the best. There’re a bunch of booths in the dancing area, so come early’ish and you can snag a place to chill with your friends. Bonus, they just installed a new sound system and the sound quality is superb.

What a nice surprise! Tucked at the base of Potrero Hill among the warehouses is this gem of a flexible space. One part bar, one part art venue, both parts clean and beautiful, Project One is a space you should attempt to visit whenever you can! I’ve been here for art shows, DJ events, and even a birthday party for a friend’s mother. This place can adapt to whatever is needed, and is set up to allow enjoyment and conversation along with an afterhours esque DJ and dance floor space. Very cool. The art that stays is absolutely gorgeous, and the way they’ve allowed artists to use the ever changing space is one of a kind. If the DJ knows what up, you’re in for excellent sound and an intimate but spacious dance floor. I love this place. I can’t wait to go back!

Hosted an important family birthday at P1 last weekend and everything was wonderful. Dexter was barman extraordinaire, and Andrea and Mani were terrific to us. We brought in a band, and they were very happy that P1 has a great sound system that they merely needed to plug into. Highly recommended for private events but I’ve also gone to some great art exhibitions and seen some really good DJs spin there too.

Good vibes. Good people. Good music. I had so much fun with my friends here! It was a friend’s birthday so she had a table and bottles but I ended up showing up with a few other friends too. The whole vibe of the place was great. They actually played HIPHOP!!! That sold me from the minute I walked in. It was a relatively small place with just one bar and two bathrooms only. But the amount of people who were there was just right so we actually had space to dance. Perfect. My only complaint is that they ran out of pineapple juice for chaser at 11:30pm… I’m guessing that they are limited in their supply so just be prepared to have a secondary choice about what drinks you want to order(whether it be alcoholic or chaser). They also ran out of Grey Goose by the end of the night. ***Parking is super easy!

Out of the way a little, but this art gallery/club is a bit of a gem. Don’t remember much except for some good dancing on their small dance floor… Some tables and lounge areas, one bar. No lookers, not really the scene to pick up biddies IMO. I think there’s a $ 10 cover since we were too late for guest list oops and the bouncers were not lenient. Good thing a bystander was kind enough to cover us.

I really enjoyed my time here at Project One Gallery. The art gallery was cool to check out, to be honest I haven’t been to place like this where they combine an art gallery with a music venue/bar lounge. I do have to say I was pleasantly surprised at how well it worked and it really made for a great atmosphere for a great night. Also I must say that the bar looks very nice. The bartender was friendly and he did recommend the mixed drink special for the night which was only $ 6 and was quite strong, definitely a great deal there. The only bad thing I have to say about Project One is that the show was supposed to go until 2AM but the bouncer started kicking people out like 15 minutes beforehand and he was being very aggressive about it. This kinda left a sour taste in my mouth as I was trying to get a picture with the DJ. Project One is easily a 5-star establishment but seeing as how extremely rude the bouncer was to people last night immediately brings the rating down to 4-stars.

Recently attended a friend’s EDM event here. I’ve never been to this space before, and in general am not very fond of galleries doubling as music venues, but I was very pleasantly surprised by Project One. The space was roomy with some seating off to the sides of the dance floor. Large scale art pieces are installed in the main event room(I particularly like the wild cat over the DJ booth). Sound was decent — again, I was pleasantly surprised at the setup given this is an art gallery. A separate room contains a gallery which was open for viewing during the event. Bathrooms were clean, but there are only 2(unisex) for the venue, so the lines were a little long at times despite the small number of people at the event. One of the bartenders wasn’t very attentive, but the other one(a guy) rocked and poured very generously. Happy to see a full bar here as most of the galleries I’ve visited have beer and wine at most. As I’ve heard they will be hosting more shows, I definitely plan to come back again.

Everything. How Kaskade used to do it: How Project One is doing it: Art + Cocktails + EDM Unfortunate about Kaskade. His latest mainstream house show was nothing like the House Of Om artist( ) I once loved. Happy for his success. No longer for me. Very fortunate about Project One. Modern art adorning the modern space. Stiff drinks at a reasonable price. David Harness spinning deep and soulful house. It was everything I love. Last time(for now) for Kaskade. First of many times for Project One.

Amazeballs. emphasis on BALLS! :P so this is like an art gallery /bar /discothèque /lounge /sorority house. EFFINGAMAZING. got invited here for a friend of a friends b-day party. thought it would be hella awkwerd but everyone was nice, the staff was congenial, and the ambiance is a klassy. i felt like a lady. o and the drinks are HELLLASTRONG. :) so i walked in and there’s this art gallery on my right. took a stroll. had a bunch of abstract art on the wall. warped me brain. and it was all eclectic so there was something for erbody. per usual i liked all the gory dismembered stuff but there was Dali-esque stuff too. o! also, there is this huge daisy plant welded thing in the corner. totally wanted to climb it like a tree & swing from it like Tarzan. they wouldn’t let me. :( , so i was feeling all awkward and decided to get a beverage. (go liquid courage!!) an they had a punch bowl full of jungle juice.(no seriously) so i said, YESPLEASE! and they dished it out in a MASONJAR!!! :) have to give them so many mad props for that. made me feel better cuz this joint is classy, but unpretentious.(swoon) was vibing the music which was dark euro electric(think mellow rammstein). cool, mellow, not boring or redundant, could have a conversation without being annoyed. so after like 3 of those drinks i finally notice the ping pong table in the middle of the floor. (shut up. didn’t have me glasses on.) THEYHADBEERPONGIN A BAR!!! it was delightful. got our asses handed to us by 2 sorority chicks who were running the table. but they were totally cheating.(ya, blo bitches.) and the spread was yum yum. hearty snacks. hummus fusion(paprika, cayenne, red pepper) with veggie dippers. amazing artichoke spinach dip.(no clue what was innit, fairly certain it was some type of krak derivative). all types of cheeses and crackers(swiss, provolone, mozzarella, cheddar…) ANDKANDI !!! brownies, cinnamon doughnut holes(teehee), CHOCOLATECOVEREDALMONDS, and nuts. (for the record, YES, i put the nuts in my mouth. happy?) and they had a free event spin the wheel thing. I MADEOUTLIKEGANGBUSTERS. had a blast, would come here again, if i could give them more stars i would. :)

Came out here one time for a gallery show, LORDS vs. CoBraS. The space itself is a good size, with one side that displays artwork, and the other that is a lounge area complete with couches to sit. The bar is pretty decent sized too, without overly priced drinks. The show itself was awesome and a lot of people turned out. From artists to hipsters, the place had a pretty eclectic mix. The DJs provided good music to accompany the art on display. I look forward to coming back for future opening receptions.
