I love this place! But that’s mainly because I work at whole foods, so I get free cups of coffee if I bring my own mug. Remember: cups, stirrers, and sleeves are compostable, lids are not. Also just because the baristas can’t put a tip jar out doesn’t mean you can’t tip them!

It was my first time coming here & I just accompanied my sister-in-law because she wanted a drink. I had just gotten a pastry from upstairs at Whole Foods, so all I really wanted was an ice water to wash the food down. My sister-in-law asked for an ice water for me. The barista handed my sister-in-law a small, skinny paper cup of room temperature water. I gave my sister-in-law this look. like what the heck?! I expected a small plastic cup of ice water… just as any other normal person would expect. It’s not my first time asking for ice water at a coffee shop, so this was totally weird to me. +1 star only because it’s Peet’s.

The main reason I like this Peet’s is because it is located downstairs from Whole Foods( ), and you can bring the food you just purchased upstairs, to eat downstairs in their café. I think this is the main use of their space, which might explain why they are pretty reserved when serving customers. However, they still do make a good cup of coffee to cap off a deli lunch!

They are fast and friendly! The coffee connection in my hood! I really enjoy walking here every morning before going to my studio to sculpt. They are the best most reliable Peet’s I have been to in SF. Great work guys!

2.5 stars. Great Peet’s coffee, dour counter workers… The Scenario: I walk up to the counter. Cashier looks at me… looks at me… looks at me… ((insert awkward silence that goes on for what seems like 10 minutes)) Finally, I say, «Hi» Counter person looks at me… scowling…actually, more disapproving ((insert more awkward silence)) «Umm, I’d like a medium, low-fat latte. And this banana.»(motioning to happy baby holding banana) Counter person looks at me(I’m beginning to wonder if he’s mute, then he turns around and says something undescernible to the barista) ((more awkward silence. i start to wonder, am i invisible?)) FINALLY he speaks and says to me, without actually looking at me(yet looking down at me), «three sixty-five» If the coffee weren’t so delish, the whole transaction would have left a bad taste in my mouth. That and I don’t think he charged me for the banana.

Great friendly staff in the morning for your daily dose of coffee before heading over to work! I can smell the coffee beans from this place 50 feet away! Amazing smell for the morning!

Not bad. Warning though, Peets coffee is so strong you’ll be palpitating like you just came off a 3-day crystal meth bender. This is an adjunct to Whole Foods so it kinda feels like ur sitting at an airport terminal(not a relaxed café atmosphere). Other than that, convenient location.

The staff here is quick and efficient, but above all very friendly! Every little thing you want in your everyday café.

I still haven’t gotten used to waking up at 6am and working by 8am. I will pretty soon, but in the meantime, thank you Peet’s for being here. I LOVEYOU. This Peet’s is great. The staff is friendly, they are quick and the barristas are goooood. I am particular about how my mocha is made and they got it just right. Thanks for keeping me sane in the mornings. =) You guys rock. Plus there’s parking.

I am really not a fan of their latte’s. But I always order them. I’m just hoping someday they won’t taste like they put 8 shots of espresso and blended it with cardboard. It’s close by though, and the service is quick and unpretentious.

Bought a Paste magazine, a bag of Dickason’s, and the biggest french press they had.

Peet’s is a five-star franchise, but I deduct one star since they are located in Whole Foods. And this specific Whole Foods has some sketchy characters lurking around. It beats the Van Ness location for sure though. Coffee is classic Peet’s!

Not a real Peets, but they get the job done. You can almost taste the smug.

Downstairs at Whole Foods there are tables, chairs, a snack bar, and a magazine rack. It’s not Whole Foods, it’s Peet’s Coffee! They’re always busy, but they are fast. I can buy a lunch upstairs, come down here and order a single latte, and enjoy it all in the little lounge. Some very interesting, if not downright bizarre, conversation can be overheard here. I am constantly reminded of how Life in the Universe takes on infinite variety.
