Ever since the brainbombs/the secretive holding company that took Peets private, most things about the venerable P’s has come unraveled in my eyes. Their acquisition of «mighty leaf» tea has done nothing but ruin an everyday staple of tea selections that are no longer available. On any given day the consumer could buy a cup of «Jade Mist», «Yin Hau Jasmine» and even«Green Peony». Say bye bye, they have reduced your choices here and they’re trying to window dress it all as if this was the second coming of God, «it’s better for you the consumer». No it’s not, if you’re a green tea drinker you can get«Dragonwell», the crappy«Jasmine Fancy» and that’s about all. Get a load of this, they’ve even infused a couple of green tea’s with fruit. That’s like adding milk and honey to your green tea, it’s just NOT done. There are other issues at all their stores in the system, I’m not even going to touch on this. Know this, as a loyal customer of this establishment for 25 years, I will only go in here now out of desperation because of the above and the inconsistencies that are now endemic of their culture.

Like this very much and used to go a lot and especially in early mornings. But somehow they seem to be unable to fix their entry door which always is stuck open(hits the floor) so that it is too cold in the seating area which is next to the door(especially now that winter is approaching). Small problem management could easily fix. Moved to the newly renovated Starbucks which doesn’t have that problem(or the charm). Scope for improvement.

Love this Peets over the one on Geary &17th. The space feels bigger/less dingy. Staff is always great and I’ve never had a bad soy latte! Peets will always trump Starbucks in my book.

Great coffee, as always, but staff is mixed. This Peet’s does an ok job at keeping things stocked. They run out of creamer at the counter more than other locations but not as much as some. I guess the thing that bothers me is they have to ask my name four years after I started going there. It seems either staff turnover or else staff being traded between locations is the problem. I’ve also had them make mistakes on my order semi-frequently. This is usually caused by new hires who are gone a month later. The regular staff are pretty friendly. The setup isn’t great. There’s a huge amount of space behind the counter and almost no comfortable seating. The few tables along the wall are right next to the line and not conducive for work or conversation.

My beloved Peet’s. Great seating here. This is a fantastic alternative to Starbucks down the street. I love the staff. They’re always friendly. The only downside is the morning rush can make this a wait. I wouldn’t come while people are making their morning commute, but … MUNI express bus is just outside the shop. ;)

I always enjoy my peet’s coffee! I find it to be consistent regardless of which location you go to! Plenty of parking at this location which is a huge plus in SF!

Very. rude cashier, the black guy with glasses was basically yelling at me while taking my order & he just threw my change on the counter! You call that customer service?

After a concert at Sharon Meadow in GG Park, we were looking for a place to get some coffee. We decided to head over to the Peet’s in Laurel Village. Parking was easy in the large free parking lot in back of the shopping center. This Peet’s is deep and narrow with entrances on California St and from the parking lot. We were able to get our coffees and park ourselves in the one of the tables in the front. Fast and friendly baristas and $ 1 for refills when enjoying your dark, bold coffee on premises. Great Peet’s location for your coffee needs.

I really love Peet’s! The strong coffee, the global art and the fair trade interest and education of us consumers — all a thousand cuts above Star***ks! But in my heart of hearts and taste buds, what I love the most is the FOAM! And I have learned that quality of foam — real Peet’s foam — depends on the training and commitment of the barista to uphold Peet’s quality and standard for the best foam out there. When the barista puts the pitcher of milk under the steamer and goes off to do other things, the foam loses quality– doesn’t get dry. Or as I was told by Roland just now, what I wanted is «bone» dry. So he remade my «bone dry» cappuccino… well, I wouldn’t ask him to remake it twice — hence the Unilocal feedback. Please Peet’s — do refresher foam training with your baristas so that you can maintain your thousand cut above! Thanks! Oh and some grain free unrefined pastries would be greatly appreciated too! Blessings!!!

it’s a peet’s! what can i say? my coffee was delicious! got some sort of amazing peppermint bark as a snack. very quick and friendly service! peet’s kind of tend to be the same in my experience so far in the west, but i have relatives in the east who crave their stuff. i know this will sound weird to san franciscans, but i swear my uncle, a commercial pilot, gets peet’s beans every time he’s on this coast. good lattes that aren’t just hot milk. those are the worst. not overcrowded. idk. i’m a fan of you, peet’s.

I’m a Peet’s fan what can I say? Great strong coffee Lattes are also strong not too milky Line can be long in the morning but moves moderately quick. Pro tip: use their free lot in the back! Why do ppl pay for parking in front when it’s free in the back?

One of the older peets coffee places. Great employees. Great strong espresso drinks. Free parking in the back. Only downside is there is not a great amount of seating.

This is where I get my beans on a Sunday morning in the rainstorm after my gal who made the coffee the PREVIOUS morning and had me run a buttload of shopping errands for her said nothing about us being out of coffee! Ok rant over! So I jogged over to my Peet’s in Laurel Village on a wet Sunday morning still half asleep. I love that the ATM for Wells Fargo is right there(especially when you weren’t expecting to have to go out in the rain and had no money in your wallet). There was no line this morning because of the weather but when there is, the have a separate line for just beans where you have it ground to order. When you buy whole beans you also get a complimentary cup of coffee or tea. Not interested? Get a rain check card for the future. Of course I got a cup as my gal can get up and make her own coffee after making me schlep in the rain. Now let me address some other comments made here. Before there was Starbucks with fancy names like Baristas and their half-caf mochachinos, there was Peet’s. Legend has it that the two founders were even partners but everyone tells a different story and I don’t want to debate it here. Read about it on Wikipedia. Peet’s is San Francisco when it comes to coffee like Double Rainbow and its-it is to ice cream and Boudin is to bread. True San Franciscans are snobs about those three things and will prefer them over the latest trends(Blue Bottle, Bi-Rite and Humphrey Slocumb) and commercial stores(Starbucks, Coldstone, and Haagen-dazs). Peet’s and its employees do have an attitude. It is laid back but more polite in some ways and rude in others. As an old employee there once told me. Some people aren’t awake yet, and the last thing they want is for me to be in their face with sunshine and smiles! Also if you want to sit down for 3 hours and have a cup of mediocre coffee and do your homework and rudely occupy the seating area, you can go to the other end of Laurel Village to the 24 hour Starbucks which resembles more of a University Student Union in traffic and noise. The two stores are a dichotomy and I’m told they are the two busiest for each chain in San Francisco(in fact some say this is the oldest store in the chain). They serve each clientele appropriately. Today was definitely a Peet’s morning. I said less than 10 words, got my pound if coffee and free cup as well and was out in a few minutes and back reading my soggy Sunday paper in front of the fireplace. My girl of course comes down and wonders why I didn’t make her coffee already and upon seeing that I’m wet and already have a Peet’s cup in my hand then asks if I got her a scone or ordered her a latte! Grrrrrr.

Good coffee as always. The coffee makers, however, are chatting to each other so much, that it is definitely lengthening the time it takes to get the coffee! Sunday, November 22 at 9 am

I see some mixed reviews. I agree that It can be a bit dirty but just the outside surrounding if you’re entering the store from the back door. They keep the shop pretty clean inside. It’s pretty small compared to other Peet’s but I think you can almost all the time find a spot to work or study if you need space for that. I come here almost ever morning for my almond latte and they are always consistent and the baristas are friendly!

The baristas here are pretty much lazy and just stand around discussing midnight activities, well except for the older Asian lady who’s been there forever. She’s nice– the rest are pretty lame. Hard to tip when service is meh… The coffee’s are always good and I love the lemon loaf slice. Always a stop when on the rich side of town! I’m a Peetnik!

I come here all the time to work, there are several tables but the design of this Peet’s is so narrow you have to side shuffle to place your order, pick it up, get milk etc etc. Overall, I like the amount of tables, the free(2 hour limit, pretty strictly enforced) parking in back, and the conveniently located Noah’s Bagel’s nearby. It’s a decent place to get some work done on your laptop and ofcourse, far superior to Starbucks even with their fancy shmancy Clover machine.

Located in Laurel Village. Convenient parking lot in the back with a back door entrance too. Great coffee. Great location.
