Pager

So I’d reached the end of my cold and suddenly, a massive earache comes on over the course of 1 night, and I can’t sleep, my ear’s ringing and deaf, and it’s 9PM on a Saturday night and I’m going to have to spend who knows how long at a San Francisco ER on a Saturday night! I look up ER locations, and I see this service, Pager. I hurriedly sign up because they work until 10PM, and they come to your house for an inexpensive fee. It looked like I would have to suffer through the night with the pain, but Dr. Schmidt made it out anyway, looked it over, and got me going on the antibiotics for an extremely painful outer and middle ear infection.
This service took what should have been one of those «worst situations imaginable» and made it a walk in the park. Cannot recommend this service enough. It was so nice to have a house call instead of the mêlée of the ER, especially for so straightforward of a painful albeit non-​life-​threatening of a malady.

Unbelievable. I know what you are thinking because I was there in your position reading Unilocal reviews just yesterday. ‘What is this sparsely reviewed, yet very highly rated medical service? Why haven’t I heard of it before if it’s so good? Is this for real?” Through countless past experiences trudging through the frustrating medical system: booking appointments week’s out, being denied insurance coverage, trying to find a clinic open on a weekend, dealing with uncaring doctors, etc, this «Pager» sounded too good to be true. I was skeptical.
But on a Sunday morning, when the golf-​ball sized mass on my forearm had swelled to ridiculous proportions and I was in so much pain I hadn’t slept a wink, I felt like I had nothing to lose. I figured I would give Pager a try and if it failed, I would have to make the trek to Urgent Care and probably shell out more money than I wanted.
Signing up with Pager is ridiculously simple and straightforward. After putting in my address and a brief message about my symptoms, I was put on the phone with Dr. Jasper Schmidt within minutes. He was calm, reassuring, and after showing him photos of my arm, he told me he would come out to my home in an hour.
He showed up right on time equipped with a full array of medical supplies and didn’t waste any time with forms or nitty gritty. I’ll spare you the very gory details, but in 15 minutes, Dr. Schmidt had taken care of the abscess, wrapped it all up, and sent my prescription information to the Walgreens down the street. He was extremely considerate the whole visit, constantly checking in on my discomfort levels, and explaining every step of the process. He left me with instructions for aftercare and told me to reach out to the Pager nurses if things weren’t healing properly. After he left, my boyfriend (who had witnessed the whole gruesome ordeal) and I just stared at each other in disbelief of how quick, painless, and easy the whole process was. When it comes to dealing with medical issues, it’s almost mind boggling when things just… work!!!
I hope this experience is a small window into the future of medical care. Rather than being just a «platform» for doctors to connect with patients, Pager has its own team of medical staff that work intimately with the company. Dr. Schmidt has been with the company since its inception, and I think it is great for doctors to be contributing their valuable input towards developing this technology. Thank you for a great service! I hope I won’t need to, but I wouldn’t hesitate to reach out again in the future.

Wow, this service almost seems too good to be true. There’s nothing worse than having to travel when you feel like absolute garbage. I came down with strep and the thought of leaving my home to head to urgent care was just too much. After a quick registration, I was talking to Dr. Schmidt and he was on his way. He was great! He worked quickly, was informative, and considerate of how much pain I was in. He was able to administer a powerful pain reliever, give me my first dose of medicine, and call in a prescription for me right away. I can’t recommend this service enough!

Amazing service! Within an hour of making the appointment my husband was treated for his illness and prescriptions called in. Or doctor even called an Über for me to go to walgreens to grab the meds. Doctor Jasper (first name) took the time to explain what was happening before he came over to the house… then was very wonderful and reassuring during the exam. Plus the first visit was $ 50 and you don’t have to leave the comfort of your own home! Great service. Highly recommended.

I became ill in San Francisco and googled for home doctors, there were many but I came across Pager the rate was only $ 50 for a call out much cheaper than the $ 500+ I had seen, the doctor called me 10mins after I had lodged an appointment and was at the house within an hour to treat me, he was able to examine me and supply me with antibiotics straight away, plus he also followed up and kept in touch to make sure everything was ok, such a great service I wish they had something like this back home!

What a fabulous service! Prompt, service minded and infinitely better than taking a ½ a day to get to your doctor. Saved me both time and money!
I fell and sprained my ankle during a hike and it swelled up to the size of tomato. After icing and wearing a bandage for 5 days I still wasn’t sure if I broke my ankle or sprained it. With my insurance, to get an X-​ray I had to pay 200 out of pocket not to mention the doctors visit co-​pay and a week’s wait for both! In comes pager and with 15 mins I get an appt with dr. Schmidt who gets on the phone to hear my case (why can’t my PCP do this?!) and with a couple of hours they are at my home examining my ankle. They recommend an X-​ray and here’s the best part — they arrange for the mobile X-​ray service! This technician comes home gets my X-​ray and with a couple of hours Dr. Schmidt calls me and gives me an update. No broken ankle (yay) just a sprain continue icing and I’m on the road to recovery.
Highly recommend.

After dealing with a nasty cut for over an hour while searching for an urgent care center/​emergency room that might be open on a long holiday weekend, I took a leap of faith with Pager for the first time. As other reviewers mentioned, Dr. Schmidt was friendly, professional, and down to earth. His response time was quite fast which surprised me (he called within seconds of requesting a doctor and came within 30 – 45 minutes). Had I gone to an emergency room, I’d still be waiting to see a doctor. I felt at ease during his visit and appreciated his efficiency with the medical procedure. Highly recommend the service.

This experience was beyond amazing. Doctor came to my office and took care of me right there! Helped me with an ear infection and then helped out when Walgreen’s wanted WAY too much for the prescription. Doctor called and got a substitution right away. Highly recommend using this service. Especially if you can’t get to a clinic right away.
