Really impressed with this place! Nob Hill Grille has been on my radar for a while and we finally went because my boyfriend was craving a burger. I was pleasantly surprised to learn that all their burgers have ½ lb grass fed patties. We were in the mood for a sit down dinner with drinks and this place definitely fit the bill. Unapologetic burger(5⁄5) — Amazing! Probably the best restaurant burger I’ve had in SF. When I say that I mean the tier of burgers above the fast casual places like Smash burger and Super Duper. The bun was super soft and soaked up all the wonderful juices of the perfectly cooked medium rare patty. This burger had a thin layer of jalapeño, bone marrow, and bacon giving it a smoky, spicy flavor. Also, I should say you could really taste the flavor of bone marrow but it didn’t over grease the burger. Mac & Cheese(4⁄5) — Very creamy and on the lighter side of mac and cheese. Good flavor! Humm baby burger(5⁄5) — juicy and hearty. My boyfriend had this and and said it was one of the best burgers he’s had in the bay area. Truffle fries(4⁄5) — subtle truffle taste and medium crisp. Served with ketchup and garlic aioli. I asked for spicy chipotle aoli just because I could :) We made reservations on a Saturday night and it was really easy to reserve a table the day of.

We were seated immediately, ordered bone marrow as an appetizer, then waited 45 minutes. We both tried it, then stopped eating. Our mains arrived 15 minutes later(she got some kind of chicken and I got the beef short ribs) we both tried ours and each other’s, then asked for the check. $ 60 spent, 6 bites total had.

Long wait here on a Sunday for breakfast — it’s very popular. There is not much seating — it’s a very small restaurant. I ended up not wanting to wait for a table, and ordered the huevos rancheros for takeout. The food was ok — not the best huevos rancheros I’ve ever had, and not the worst. Based on this dish I probably wouldn’t come back to this restaurant. Maybe it was an off day or maybe I just ordered the wrong item.

Great local brunch place. I got an MC Omlette with goat cheese, spinich, and lamb sausage, house fries, and 2 fluffy slices of wheat toast(with berry jam) for $ 12. No lines for brunch on a Sunday!

The mimosas here are a bit pricey($ 8? Really?), but their pesto scramble is literally worth every penny. It’s a good sized portion of food and is just a really solid meal. Their breakfast brioche slider things are good as well. Honestly not worth getting just the plain pancakes or french toast, if you’re coming here, go all in and get something on the top part of the menu. Also, if you’re coming for brunch, try to get there before 11 to avoid a wait!

No lines for brunch on a Sunday! Amazingg. plus good amount of street parking. This place looks small from outside but once you step in there’s a front dining and lower back dining to the place. The food– great variety of your usuals Benedict or Pancakes but good enough portions to share. I would say it’s tough to pick just one, but I tried the pancake sampler and the pesto omlette.(Pics attached!) The prices not to mention were middle $$ so well worth it. The vibe– great for a small group to get together and you’re not talking over the noise. The place is chill and casual and really inviting. All in all for brunch I don’t want to give it away but this place is a place I’d come back a few more times. :)

Made the reservation at the last minute. We got a great seat near the door, great for people watching. Lovely local neighbourhood vibe in the restaurant. Service was very good considering there were only 2 guys serving. I was feeling in a comfort food mode and ordered the Mac n cheese for starter and the beef short ribs for main course, my husband ordered the risotto and the short ribs also. Every dish was fantastic. The short ribs really deserve a special mention. Thank you.

Super solid Sunday brunch option. My friend and I sat at the bar & it was great to see all of the action happening on the line! Booze: — Great, big mimosas for $ 8 Food: — Pesto scrambler with Italian sausage — really good, nothing too crazy but good! — Huevos Rancheros — delicious! I would eat them every Sunday. Suggestion order both the meat & vegetarian sauce! Ambiance: Diner feel, high energy, gets packed early so get there quick or be ok with a wait. Suggestion: Sit at the bar for a full view of the amazing one man line chef show! Only reason it’s rated a 4 instead of a 5 simply bc there isn’t a full on theme with the food which I think cuts into the overall flavor.

Found Nob Hill Grille on Unilocal for restaurants near my hotel. At first glance, the place looked closed, but it wasn’t. Nice looking restaurant, with a better looking menu. Swordfish was ordered as well as roast chicken. Both were well presented and good, however, I thought the swordfish was excessively priced. Good service, clean restaurant BUT the windows in the lower dining room needed cleaning both inside and out and every once in a while there were tiny fruit flies orbiting around.

Hello, new found lover! I cannot express enough how wonderful this place is. A fluke find when Unilocaling around the area regarding brussel sprouts and this gem popped up. Wonderful service, tiny yet romantic space and the food was stellar. STELLAR. Must try: Short Rib, Bone Marrow and of course, Brussel Sprouts. with bacon. Tons of bacon. Their wine selection is also on point. This is our new favorite spot and I plan on making multiple appearances.

Didn’t realize the extra seating in the back before. Came on a Saturday morning around 930 and surprisingly it was a bit slow. Ordered: Berry French Toast — Delicious! I’m not usually a fan of French toast, but I would definitely come back for theirs. They don’t use syrup. Nope, they use some vanilla creamy goodness… try it! Pesto Scramble — I love pesto, but this one just didn’t do it for me. It was good, but not something I’d order again. Their home fried potatoes though, are AMAZING. Coffee — Ok, I know we’re in SF and $ 3 coffee with refills shouldn’t be a sticker shock. But I like dark strong coffee and theirs just didn’t do it for me. If you’re like me, save your money and get it elsewhere. All in all, I’d come back again… especially for their french toast and potatoes.

The food was good, but honestly this place gets 4 stars because of the service. Came here on a Sunday, and the place was packed for 9AM on a Sunday. You could see the wait staff was working their asses off, and we later found out that they were a man short. That being said, our waiter Ken, really embraced the situation and his small jokes and remarks made our brunch so enjoyable. Watching them work, you just knew they were doing everything they could to get our food out as fast as possible. In addition to the fantastic service, the food was also quite good. I had the sliders, which were served on pillow, brioche buns. Also, surprisingly, their coffee is really good! I would definitely come back here again. It’s always nice finding a good brunch spot in this city where you don’t need to wait for an hour.

We went here for a nice Sunday brunch today and we were not disappointed. While it looks like a small café on the inside, it seemed like there was quite a large seating area. They were pretty busy, as many brunch places are on Sunday, so it took a little bit of time to get service and a table, but the wait is worth it! The waiters and workers are very friendly and judging by the amount of regulars they have, it seems like more of a family business with long time employees. Once we were seated, my girlfriend and I both ordered the standard with bacon. We were pleasantly surprised by how fast we got our food given how busy they were and that was only the beginning! The food was so good. It was a basic breakfast of eggs, bacon, home fries, and toast, but it was very well made and prepared. My sunny side up eggs were the perfect balance between firm and runny and granted bacon is hard to mess up, but their bacon was really nice and crispy! We will definitely be back to try other items on their menu!

Came here years ago(in the 90’s) for breakfast so I really don’t recall my experience but this place has been around for quite some years. It’s near a beer bar I frequent and had tried to get in twice for dinner, but always at least an hour wait. After the Warriors Game #5 win, we walked pass and it wasn’t crowded! Went in and got seated right away. Our waiter was very friendly and attentive. I had a glass of Pinot Gris from New Zealand from a limited wine menu. Nice and refreshing, pour was normal($ 11 glass) They also offer a selection of beer(only $ 5). I ordered the Unapologetic Burger. The description sounded incredible and had to have: bone marrow, bacon and sliced jalapeños with garlic aioli on a brioche. Ordered truffle fries for an extra $ 2(well worth it!!). Maybe I had high expectations but the burger didn’t have the punch I expected. It was just okay. The fries were excellent! Full of truffle aroma and taste! Loved it! I had some of my girlfriend’s mushroom risotto, nothing to write home about. Guy friend had the braised beef short rib, came with a bed of mashed potato and broccolini. It looked very tender and tasty… he confirmed. Overall meal was okay. I may have to come back to try their breakfast/brunch again.

My new favorite spot near the apartment. My boyfriend and I would always pass it on our way to TJ’s so one lazy night we thought why not try it. On our first visit, I had the pasta special — linguine pasta with butternut squash, sausage and mushrooms. And my boyfriend got the chicken pot pie. We also got the brussels sprouts side, which comes with bacon! Everything was amazing! And we sat at the bar(watching a game), where you can see all the food being made. It all looks so delicious. Everything on the menu is basically all the things I love. I can’t wait to go back to try the rest and especially brunch.

My husband and I were just walking around San Fran looking for a place to eat and came across this little gem and decided to go in!!! We didn’t really know what to expect, but we were pleasantly surprised!!! The front dining room was packed so they sat us in a cute little back room with a street view! Loved that part!!! I ordered the chicken pot pie and a glass of Riesling and my hubs got the braised beef short ribs with a craft beer and we shared the truffled French fries with garlic aoli!!! It was ALLAMAZING!!! Yum yum yum!!! Everyone was super nice and plus side is it is located in a nice part of town!!! **The ONLY thing that I did not love was how close the seating in the cute back room was to other tables. When I got up to leave I seriously felt embarrassed because my butt was pretty much on the girls table next to us!!! Maybe take away one table down there and make it more comfortable and more intimate!!!

First time here and it was a great brunch place! Although their menu is small, I was very satisfied with my eggs benedict! Because their was a wait before we got seated the waitress kindly took any drinks orders we had, which was nice. This place is small, but cozy. I was with a party of 8 and we were seated in their nice backroom! I recommend this little gem!

I happened to be nearby and found the restaurant on Unilocal.I’m so glad I came here and wish I came upon Nob Hill Grille sooner. It’s a cozy little restaurant with bar seating and a couple tables for 2. All staff were friendly. They offer a couple different beers and wine. There was a 3-course option for $ 31 with a limited selection, but I opted to order a la carte instead. I got the truffle fries($ 6) and braised beef short ribs($ 21). Both were served quickly and the presentation was nice! The braised beef was juicy and flavorful! Such tender meat. The mashed potatoes and asaparagus paired well with the beef. I enjoyed and appreciated every bite! The truffle fries were just right, had a bit of a crunch but not totally crunchy. There is a calm and relaxing vibe here, very chill, and with great service and delicious food too. I highly recommend coming here if you are dining solo or with another friend.

I was craving truffle mac and cheese. After doing some research, the roommate found Nob Hill Grille. We grabbed take out August of last year. *Pot pie: sauteed chicken breast, bacon, carrots, peas, onions and broccolini in a sherry cream sauce served between puff pastry *Mac & cheese, add Truffle oil *Unapologetic burger, add Sauteed mushrooms & Fried egg(no bun) with Truffled french fries: beef, bone marrow, house cured bacon, sliced jalapenos, garlic aioli and american cheese *Caesar salad(no croutons): romaine, white spanish anchovies and parmesan The truffle mac and cheese definitely hit the spot. Creamy, cheesy and with great truffle aroma. I loved it! The pot pie was also super good! It’s just a puff pastry pie top, not the whole pie crust, but I kind of prefer pot pie that way as I can only eat so much crust. The filling was rich comfort. The chicken tender and the veggies flavorful. The burger and salad were good as well, but I don’t remember enjoying them as much as I did the mac & cheese and pot pie. The restaurant has a neighborhood feel. Very cute. I didn’t eat there so I can’t comment on the service, but the guy that gave me my take out was very nice and friendly. 4 stars!
