Dr. Jim or Dr. Nick as he’s known has been treating his patients at this location for many years. His compassionate and calming demeanor is why his patients love him so much. I met Dr. Nick when my grandparents’ were patients of his when they lived in the Inner Sunset. He & Maria, his ever faithful assistant provide each patient with the tender loving care one deserves. Dr. Nick takes the time to examine whatever foot problem you have from the common ingrown toenail to pain from arthritis or gout. He also does preventive care like trimming hard to cut toenails for prevent the nail becoming ingrown which can lead to infection. Dr. Nick is a wonderful man inside & out. I fondly remember him calling my grandparents«Mama & Papa» and treated them like they were his own parents. Now my mom is going to him for preventive maintenance for her toenails. Give him a try and make your feet«happy happy happy». =D Stay well, my friends!

I’d heard good things about this guy, but apparently he’s so happy with the patients he already has that he doesn’t want any new ones. I’ve tried calling his office several times but I’ve never been able to reach a real person. It does let you leave a voice mail, and I did just that, but nobody ever called me back. Forget this!

Dr. Nick has been helping patients with their feet for many years. My parents go to him as have some of my relatives. They all praise him. I go to him when I have trouble with my toe nails. Toe nails that are affected by fungus and ill-fitted shoes, Dr. Nick knows how to treat them. He has the proper equipment and training and his staff are friendly and helpful. I went to one of those nail salons recently just to give it a try. No go! Better off going to Dr. Nick. Or any skilled experienced foot doctor. I have to agree with Dr. Nick, nail salons are for the ladies who want to have their nails polished and painted. But for guys with tough toenails, a foot doctor to trim and file nails is better. And, as Dr. Nick told me, nail salons are not allowed to do any heavy-duty type work. They are simply licensed for cosmetic-style tasks. I have been going to Dr. Nick more regularly as I find it easier for him to take care of my toenails with all his proper materials, than for me to struggle and not be able to reach my toes, while straining my back. It all takes less than 10 minutes and his office accepts insurance. As with all doctor offices, be prepared to wait. His office is small, and gets busy. Call to make an appointment. Parking the car on Irving Street is difficult. L-Taraval trolley line is only a block away on Judah Street and the MUNI71-Bus stops at 22nd Ave and Irving or 23rd Ave and Kirkham
