First time to this Nespresso retail location. Didn’t even realize it was a café/bar upstairs and the retail is downstairs until someone explained it to me. So, is it just me who think it’s we’re being served at home pods of coffees at a café? I love Nespresso and the convenience of them. But this location seems to put more emphasis on the café than retail, which is slightly disappointing to me, an owner of both the original line and the virtuoline.

I haven’t tried their food, but the drinks(for purchase) upstairs are delicious. A bit on the pricier side, but worth the spend. The ambiance is what first drew me into this boutique. Several windows, lots of natural light, and light colored modern/minimalistic furniture. It has a very sophisticated feel when you walk in, and the service has been exquisite each time I visit. I love their caramel latte. The foam is the perfect consistency, and the espresso is rich. The flavors they use perfectly compliment the espresso, as each blend is perfectly matched to create your drink(unlike most other coffee places). Though, if you don’t want the fancy latte(or have the time to enjoy it), you can just walk downstairs and try a free cup of whatever you’d like. If you don’t have a machine, just pretend to be interested in one. If you do, maybe pick up some pods. In any case, they’re always always friendly, and enjoy giving you a taste. We usually buy our Nespresso pods here, and they are always so kind and helpful. Over Christmas, my mother gifted us with some flavored pods, which are not our taste. My boyfriend called Nespresso to see if we could exchange them, and they said it was up to the particular boutique, but usually no unless it had been 2 weeks from purchase with a receipt. We explained to the woman working our issue(no receipt, just pods still in their sleeves), and she was more than happy to exchange the pods, even though Christmas was over a month ago. So whether you’re coming here to buy a machine/pods, or enjoy a drink in their café, I highly recommend this store for both quality and service.

Went here for the first and ONLY time with my family earlier this month. We were seated right away, but that was the only good part about it. It took more than 20 minutes for the waiter to show up and take our order. It took more than 40 minutes for us to get our coffee for 4 and 2 biscottis. Are you kidding me?! Don’t they just pop in those pods into the fancy machines and spit the coffee out?! This place is a joke and too expensive for what it is.

Looks Expensive… but cheaper than you think! Read more… This was my first time in Nespresso(which I actually stayed a while) and I am sold. It may look expensive from the outside, but surprisingly, it’s affordable and classy! Here is why I am sold: In the past, I have walked past numerous Nespresso shops and never went in. The only other time, besides this, that I had went in a Nespresso shop was in Miami, and it was to get a cup of coffee and go. That what about 5 years ago and I was told by the barista that«we don’t do to-go cups». I thought to myself. «what kind of coffee shop is this?!» I ended up walking out and never went back. Fast forward to today,. 5 years later. I recently spent some time with family over the holidays and drank lots of their coffee, which, was nothing but Nespresso. Much to my surprise, having never tried it, I thought it was great! Coming back to SF, I wanted to return to them a gift in the form of Nespresso pods. As I entered the coffee shop I was greeted by a nice gentleman in a black tie suit — looking sharp. He kindly asked what I was looking for«shopping or tasting». and directed me downstairs to the tasting rooms. As I walked downstairs I noticed a small handful of associates pouring out coffee samples to customers and letting them try whichever coffees they wanted. Not sure what pods I wanted to purchase for my family, I requested a tasting through one of the associates. She gladly left the cash register, walked over to one of the stations, and began telling me about the different types of coffee in the store. If you have never had Nespresso, you notice their coffee intensities are labeled 1−12… 12 being the strongest. They have over 20 to try! The associate informed us of all the coffee varieties, as well as what the best sellers were, and why. In addition, she let us try the coffee’s black, w/sugar, or with milk, until we were satisfied. Over the course of 45 minutes in the store, I had tried 5 different kinds of coffee, and probably 2 cups worth. When i returned to the counter to purchase the pods I thought tasted best, I was pleasantly surprised to find out how Cheap they were! All the coffee’s come in sleeves of 10 and range from $ 7-$ 8! When you do the math. that’s less than $.80 a coffee… and for good coffee that you hand pick and taste before buying! I can’t believe I had been buying coffee at coffee shops for $ 2/cup! In summary, the experience was tasteful and relaxing. There was absolutely zero peer pressure to buy anything. even if you sampled several! One of the ladies in my «tasting station» had 4 samples and didn’t buy anything. she was«just getting an idea of the tastes». I’m moving in to a new home soon and a Nespresso machine is the first thing i’m buying for myself!

I really would like to rate this place high as the ambiance is so nice and the décor is very inviting and minimalist. Unfortunately service is very slooooooooowww. I waited for my ice decaf for over 20 minutes!!! This was a takeaway drink. I am not sure how they organize their drink order despite a few minutes of observation. Yes, the decaf was almost $ 6(I think) and it was very expensive and I really did not find it so different from the other artisan local coffee shops. The macarons were flown from New York and I did not order as I prefer fresh, local same day baked goods.

There are better coffee places in the city than here, but in the heart of holiday shopping season this was the perfect place. We waited five minutes for a table to open up, were served water while we waited, and promptly seated when the table opened up. One and half hours later after ordering coffee beverages, we finished up. We were not rushed, did not have to endure a 20 minute line at one of the alternatives(Starbucks) just to oder, and who knows how long for your order to get completed. This was by far a much better experience, never felt the rush to leave, and no one giving you the evil eye for taking too long to give up your table.

Are you kidding me? Amazed this has good reviews. Generic food. Wildly overpriced. Drinks from little pods — both wasteful and mediocre. This place is basically like if IKEA started charging 20x as much for their same mass produced, particle board furniture. I mean, seriously, why does this place exist? The best way to describe my experience would be like getting blah food from a vending machine inside the lobby of a fancy hotel.

Fancy coffee shop. A cup of regular coffee is $ 5.50, plus tax and tip. It came with a small chocolate square. And when I asked if my friend and I could get another chocolate, the waitress brought us just one… I guess to share. For such an expensive cup of coffee, you would think they might be less stingy. The coffee itself was fine, nothing out of this world.

A great escape from the hussle and bustle of the surrounding mayhem of Black Friday shopping! Not to mention the fact that it serves a jolly good cup of coffee and a delicious opera cake! And you can top up on your coffee capsules. They have a good selection of light snacks and soup from what I could see on the table next to ours, which looked very mouthwatering. What I also love about this place is the very professional service. 5 stars all round.

I love this place! I strolled in a random weekday and was greeted by great customer service and an amazing ambience. The place is quite pricey but the $ 7 Moka Latte is by far one of the best lattes I have ever had. I would definitely suggest trying the coffee here at least once! You won’t regret it.

I used to walk past this place every day, until me friends and I decided to try it – and it was so worth it. It’s a super fancy café/nespresso store and it’s delicious. Yes it’s a little pricey, and yes it’s pretty fancy — but it’s so good! The décor is beautiful and the staff is so polite and professional. I highly recommend the liégeois with the salted caramel ice cream… it’s amazing.

A very eventful café lounge to be at. Sophisticated spot to chat over coffee and food. The atmosphere and service was all pleasant. It’s a lovely and charming stopover — even if it’s for the slightest bit.

OMG I was blown away by the outstanding customer service that was provided to me! I have visited this store twice to choose capsules for my new Nespresso machine. Both times the level of service that was provided to me by all the customer service and managers on duty was Amazing! The associates took the time to show me all the different variety of capsules. They didn’t rush me. They explained all of them in detail and level of intensity, acidity, dark roast less caffeine, light roast more caffeine, and so on. I left the store more knowledgeable about the brand and coffee.. I am a new member, and a happy customer. I will keep returning and keep recommending it to my friends. 5STARS. Companies like this will continue to be more successful because of the Great Customer Service that they provide.

This place is adorable! Everything is clean and pristine and the employees are nice and helpful. Prices are just a tad bit higher than starbucks, but service is top notch. I ordered their liegeois and my BF ordered a cappuccino. My liegeios was pretty much an affogato and it was delicious; well worth the $ 5. My BF also enjoyed his cappuccino. This is such a nice place to take a a shopping break; will definitely come back!

This is a cool yet strange café. It reminds me of the cafes you’d see at museums: minimalistic with neutral tones, relaxing, and full of merchandise, in this case, the Nespresso machines. I actually own a Nespresso machine(espresso capsules only) and absolutely love it. So I thought: let’s check out the mothership that offers coffees of the month and food. I like this place. Don’t know if I love it. My coffee of the month is ok: honestly, I can do a better job at home with my machine. Another thing to note: because this place is filled with lots of business people, it also reminds me of the American Express Platinum Airport Lounge, which I love. But does this place feel like a traditional café?: no. But that might be a good thing if you want to try something different. If I worked in the City, this would be a nice respite during, and after, the workday.

I am in love with my newest gadget, the Vertuoline Nespresso coffee machine. I received the machine for my birthday, and have been loving it ever since. The coffee is delicious, quick, efficient, and perfect for a busy bee like myself. There is virtually no cleanup and the coffee is simply amazing. If you give it a try I can almost guarantee that you will never look at another cup of coffee the same way! The Vertuoline machine comes with a sample of each coffee and expresso pod available at the store. I also received a $ 100 coffee credit with my purchase. Nespresso offers special promotions a few times a year generally around the holidays. If you plan to purchase a machine, I recommend doing your research beforehand to score the best deal. After receiving the machine I quickly used up all of the samples and needed to purchase more. The capsules are only available for purchase online and in select stores. Thankfully the Nespresso boutique is only a short drive across the Golden Gate Bridge in downtown San Francisco. My favorite coffee capsules are the Melozio, Vanizio, and the new Caramelizio. I love all of the expresso pods! After reading more about my favorite varieties, I learned that all the blends I enjoy are from Brazilian and Central American Arabica coffee beans. It’s funny because I used to just drink tea, but my hectic schedule convinced me to develop a new appreciation for coffee and expresso. Now I finally know exactly what to look for when shopping for coffee! My least favorite capsule is the Elvazio, a fruity blend from South America. Through the tasting process I learned that fruity coffee is not my thing. Onto the store; It’s a very nice boutique in Union Square. The upstairs is a café and the downstairs is where you purchase and shop for coffee, machines, and accessories. I have not tried the café, so I can only vouch for the shopping experience. The employees are very helpful and will happily make you a cup of coffee and/or expresso to sample. This is a great way to learn more about the differences between blends. I had a great experience and I will return the next time I need to stock up on capsules!

Ran in yesterday and grabbed three kinds of capsules. Even brought my cup in for samples and to maybe take a to-go drink with me. Unfortunately, they told me that the bar had just closed… before 5pm… while the hours state(clearly) on here that they are open until 6pm. With all of the reviews saying«oh, I tried so many different kinds of coffee blah blah blah,» it would have been nice to have been served at least one sample… nope. Hey guys, wanna fix your hours? Maybe to _actual_working hours?

Had the February coffee of the month which was«caffe cone amore». Comes with two small cone shots lined with chocolate and filled with a sweet and a salty macchiato using their Altissio espresso. I didn’t think they tasted good. The cones were horrible. It’s cute inside though but I probably wouldn’t come back for their coffee.

Holly espresso heaven, I absolutely love this boutique. I recently purchased the new and fabulous, virtuoline machine by Nespresso. This lovely devise brews an actual 8 ounce cup of coffee, as well as espresso; and has since lead to me fall deeply in love with Nespresso and all its glorious wonders. I also fell so hard, I had to introduce this masterpiece to my parents who were recently on the hunt for a new coffee machine, and they too, fell for its majestic ways and have since purchased one for them selves. So, being my folks and I were running low on our capsules, I decided to take the opportunity to visit the Nespresso boutique to pick them up, and leave the online ordering for another time. If heaven had a café, this is how I would envision it looking; impeccably pristine white, immaculately clean; equipped with exceptionally, above ordinary customer service. This Nespresso boutique is two stories. You enter into the beautiful café equipped with a stunning bar where they serve some outstanding nespresso drinks, along with a menu offering a small, but arresting selection of treats such as sandwiches; and not to mention an astonishingly decadent selection of desserts… mmm… It was a rainy day; perfect for accommodating with a nice hot beverage… nespresso beverage that is. I sat at the beautiful bar where I ordered from their awe inspiring menu. By recommendation from one of the exceptionally friendly baristas, and with the plain fact that I absolutely love honey, I ended up going with the Honey Cinnamon Latte($ 7.00). You have the option to choose what capsules you would like to accommodate your concoction. The virtuoline offers 8 different coffee flavors as well as 4 different espresso flavors. They range from level of intensity. I went with the Diavoletto(the strongest and darkest espresso). Their lattes come with two shots. They also offer Almond milk which I chose. The drink turned out fabulously delicious. I then proceeded downstairs to purchase my capsules. The place is impeccably organized, providing an easy buying process. They also offer tasting’s down there as well. Whether or not you are a proud owner of a Nespresso machine, do yourself a favor, come, sit and just experience all the gloriousness that Nespresso so magnificently offers… you will not regret it… I promise.
