This music studio teaches beginning to amateur students to a certain level. The music studio is also the house where the instructor resides which may not be a good thing for students(I’ll get to that later). The instructor is capable to teach up to a certain level until she gets frustrated and starts to yell at her students/customers. Yelling at a student will not make them learn as supposed to teaching them the correct way to pay. The instructor/owner does not value your business because she will constantly say if you don’t continue with my class, I can always get other students to fill your time slot. If you can’t make it to your class, you can’t make it up. If you have a problem with that, I can always have other students take over your time slot. When a student is booked for an hour of the private tutoring, the instructor will give about ten minutes of lessons in the beginning, then she’ll let you practice with your instrument while she goes and do her other errands at home, use her computer to work on other things, and go elsewhere away from the student. Given, the student is still playing music in the house and the assumption is there that she can still hear the music, the fact of the matter is, she’s not there WITH the student in the same room/studio to watch and teach. If I’m paying for an hour of private lessons, I expect the instructor to give me 100% of that hour in teaching me. Not walking away and doing other activities not pertaining to my growth in music. Which bring back to the yelling as I wrote earlier. The instructor will yell at the student for not learning the lesson from the previous week(classes are held once a week). Which means, the instructor is yelling at the student because they did not perfect the lesson from her ten minutes of teaching. Then she will make you play the same song week after week until you get it done correctly. Before moving onto the next song/lesson. I also get my private tutoring from a few other places and by far, the instructors are much better and value my education in music. I would have given this location one star, but I have learn something from what the instructor has taught me. But I would recommend finding a better music instructor for private lessons.
