We had so much fun here today. It was our 3rd wedding anniversary, which the traditional gift is pearl, so my husband brought me here. We already had a pinkish white pearl from a previous trip that we got set in a beautiful pendant. We also shucked 2 oysters and both times harvested twin black pearls.(I have a suspicion this is planned on their part, culturing twin pearls, so as to boost the likelihood of people buying earrings.) But anyway we also got the black pearls set in a pair of lovely earrings. A little on the expensive side, but lots of fun. Frances waited on us and was so friendly and helpful.

While walking through Fisherman’s Wharf, a sales person intrigued me with a bowl of oysters. She told me that I can pick one to crack open to get the pearl. Catch is that if you do have them open it, you have to buy a piece of jewelry. I took my chance with picking out a nice oyster and she pried it open. Inside was the most beautiful pearl I’ve ever seen — it was a gold-colored pearl! She told me that each of the colors represented something and gave me a little booklet about the colors. Gold in this case represented wealth, courage, prosperity, love and other positive things. I was very happy with my pick because I’m a yellow gold person. We then proceeded inside so I can pick out a jewelry to mount it on and what type of jewelry I wanted. I opted for a 14k yellow gold snake chain necklace and to mount the pearl onto a 14k yellow gold Maile leaf with a tiny diamond. The Maile leaf also carried a symbol. In Hawaii, it meant love, honor and respect. Waiting a few minutes for all this to carry out, I was very happy with the end result of my «project». It cost me fortune, but it was worth it. The beauty of the pearl embedded onto the Maile leaf and diamond dazzled my eyes. It was a fun experience!

They have great deals on really cute silver and white gold jewlery. the option of «picking a pearl» makes the experience a whole lot of fun, too:) I love the fact that these guys have been around so long that my dad bought my mom a pearl and had it set on their first date, too. Customer service is awesome, especially from new store manager, Stephanie.
