Martin Kramer, PA-C

I want to love one medical I really do. I constantly have problems though. For a fee based medical center the only thing you’re really getting is appointments same day.
The doctors are great but the front desk staff tend to be very indifferent. I’m literally waiting to give blood (for an hour) and a woman walked in that complained about the wait so they just let her in front of me without even acknowledging me (I would have gladly let her cut). They have messed up on my prescriptions and appointments as well. As an idea it’s great and I think they do care genuinely but either they have too many patients or their front desk staff lacks an attention to detail, constantly.

I want to say that I really do love One Medical and have had great experiences with their staff overall, so this review should not in any way persuade you to not choose them as a medical provider.
My goal here is to be fair and accurate to my specific experience with Martin.
I am a gay male and have substance abuse issues that I’ve dealt with for a few years. I have recently been working to get help from multiple resources, and am lucky to have so many here in the city. I know that there are lots of guys out there who might be dealing with this too, so this has motivated me to warn you about Martin in case you’re seeking medical help.
My visit today was meant to be a physical and check-​up on taking Truvada for PREP. Martin seems like a very knowledgeable doctor and is efficient, which I liked. My problem with him was that I think his experiences in the past has affected the way he inter-​personally interacts with his patients. He was very biased, narrow-​minded, judgmental, and lacked sympathy.
I do not want to give too much detail to the statements made by him, but I will say that he was very insensitive to a recent break-​up that I’m going through, and also explicitly made statements that indicated I was having excessive sexual encounters, this is not true.
Please consider seeing another provider if you are dealing with an addiction. There is better help out there and people who are supportive. Martin may be knowledgeable about certain issues, but his views seem to be flooded with scare tactics and removal from the human experience.

Martin and One Medical make it easy to take care of myself.
When one of my *other* doctors refused to refill my medication without an appointment, I was left with NO MEDICATION just because I have to work.
Seriously, my choice was either 1) go to my doctor’s appointment and get fired from my new job 2) go without my medication and suffer the consequences.
I sent a detailed email to Martin Kramer, explaining what a terrible situation I had been put in by my other doctor and begging for his help.
He agreed to help and fixed the situation within hours. I was so relieved, I can’t even express my gratitude.
I feel like I can count on Martin Kramer and One Medical to take care of my health if I just do my part.
(As far as all of my other doctors… you have to work your ass off to get what you need– health care in America feels like a communist country now.)

There are no words that can describe Martin as a fantastic primary care professional. Attitude, knowledge, and flexibility that makes his visit super productive and flawless. We are very glad we have such a professional in this corrupted health care system. Martin is my fav primary care provider that I have ever had.

Martin Kramer is a god send. I met him over ten years ago, through my ex. The best thing that ever happened to me. I have never liked going to see anyone in the medical field. I found him to be gentle, kind, knowledgeable, non judgmental, and above all trust worthy. He has the biggest heart I have ever known in a human being, and that is big because all my friends have big hearts. Because I do not ever want to experience anyone else if possible I will and have followed him where ever he goes. I now live three hours north. If I need to see him, he is more than worth the drive. I can honestly say I love this man.

Martin has been my caregiver for over 10 years and when I say **care* giver, I really mean that.
He has supported me on every level possible, from dietary issues to quitting smoking to coping with the every-​dayness of having a chronic condition.
It is not easy to treat patients who never will be fully well. In this regard Martin always let me know there is more hope than I give myself credit for and I can’t thank him enough for that.

Martin Kramer is wonderful. I have never had a Dr that is more dedicated or concerned about his patients. The first time that he called me after hours to check on me was a shock. I was referred to him by a close friend and am now trying to get my partner to move over. I can not say enough about him. He is just a wonderful person.

Martin is dedicated to his practice and really cares about his patients. He is thorough and makes sure that all of my questions are answered before I leave his office. I feel like he cares about me as a person as much as he cares about my health. He is always up on the latest treatments and knows the best people to refer to. He is in a busy practice but still makes time for each patient. Martin ROCKS!

I think Martin kramer is one of the most dedicated and thorough medical providers in San Francisco. I had the pleasure of working with him at the Haight Ashbury Free Clinic in the 90s. I was amazed by his committment and thoroughness with his patients. In the 15+ years I ‘ve known Martin (both professionally as colleages and personally as a health care provider) I’ve NEVER found him to be arrogant, egotistical or anything but 100% dedicated. I wish more health care providers were as thorough and as compassionate as he is. I value his input on my health issues and have never found him to be judgemental.

Martin Kramer has been my main health care provider for over 10 years now, mainly for HIV, but also for every other thing that happens to a person in such a time span! I have followed him from 2 other practices he has been with since 1997, and this one is the best! I’m so lucky to have found him, very much by accident, back then when I moved to S.F. HE IS AWESOME! I am (still) healthy after 25 years with HIV in no small part because of his care. He is extremely knowledgeable, compassionate and current on everything! I totally trust him, which is huge, and feel like I have the best patient/​healthcare provider relationship I’ve ever had.
I really like his office with Dr. Hassler on Market Street. It’s not the usual doctor’s office you find — bare-​bones with white walls and out-​of-​date magazines. This office is warm and comfortable and makes you feel at ease right away, which is great when you might be a little nervous or not feeling well — and it’s in a beautiful and accessible building, too.
I would ABSOLUTELY recommend Martin Kramer as an EXCELLENT healthcare provider. I wouldn’t want to do without him! SERIOUSLY!
