The family that owns and works this store are such wonderful people. They are always friendly, helpful and the products they carry are high quality. Great market for the home chef, they have a wide array of spices, basic fruits and veggies(but will sometimes have stuff like persimmons!) and quality pantry basics. I love swinging by for fruit or little things I forget at the supermarket like a jalapeño, especially avocados, they always have the best. They have a carefully curated selection of groceries, but not too expensive, even stuff you can find at Whole Foods at a fair price. The deli has great food too(pie!) and you can even buy some raw meats like steak, chicken and sometimes salmon, if you don’t want to run all the way to Trader Joes or Whole Foods for a quick dinner. Quite surprisingly, they carry GREAT liquor. I found a Yamazaki 12 year whiskey(under $ 150) when I seriously couldn’t find one anywhere else in the city, because it was selling out so quickly. I’ve lived here for 5.5 years and stop by every week. It’s a great neighborhood spot.

Market is clean and bright and the service is friendly. The cracked pepper turkey sandwich from the deli was excellent and the minestrone soup was also delicious. I also bought some fresh hummus which is some of the best I’ve had. All of their food at the deli is homemade each day. Check out this market.

I felt like getting a sandwich around nine o’ clock in the morning but he wouldn’t slice up any meat on the slicer. Said all I could get at that hour was pre-cut meat. What if I wanted a pound of meat sliced up at 18.99 lb. I’m sure he would’ve done it. Caught him being lazy in the morning. Never going back again. If you’re going to sell goods. THENSELLTHEM!!!

This is the market we use when having an extended stay in the city. They have a little bit of everything. Fair prices and an incredibly friendly and accommodating staff.

Similar to some other reviewers, I had a just plain rude encounter here. I was chastised about using a credit card when asked, at which point I made it clear I wouldn’t be returning to the store(I don’t take crap like that, sorry). I happened to be getting eggs and the dude then decided to open up the egg container to «check» the eggs and ran his visibly dirt fingers all over them. I went and got some different overpriced eggs. Ewwwwl.

Awesome market, great deli and reasonable prices. The people who own and run the store always greet me when I come in and they really have a great selection. They even have some specialty goods that you cannot find at Trader Joe’s! I am happy that this place exists so close to my apartment and that I have access to this wonderful shop.

In love with mujadara, a delicious, home-made brown rice and lentil dish that is remarkably difficult to find. I should learn to cook it — or I can buy it here, along with their home-made hummus and falafel.

Guy at sandwich counter is not wearing gloves, I notice after already having ordered the sandwich. I also think I hear/see him sniffle and wipe nose slightly, which grosses me out, but I convince myself it’s my imagination and everything will be fine. My intuition, however, which always proves right, tells me he has a cold and I’m not imagining it. But I eat the sandwich anyway. Now six hours later I have a cold out of nowhere. Awesome, thanks sandwich guy.

Our landlord did not mention that this store was a perk of our location. Family run and awesome. They have everything that you might need, can joke with you, and make you feel welcome. I probably go here once a day, they know me by now — so much that they tell me when my favorite champagne is cold and in stock. If you order anything from the deli — get the pesto. It’s soooo good. Hummus is perfect.

These people do it right! I moved into the neighborhood a few years ago and I find myself doing more and more of my shopping here. The produce and meats are fresh, they stock a nice variety in the aisles, the deli is delish and the family is supper nice. This store makes it easy to shop locale and eat well. Have not been in a Safeway/Lucky’s in over a year!

For San Franciscans, it’s not unusual to spend more time interacting with the people who run your corner store than you do with your own family. Being greeted by name and having a friendly exchange while getting your groceries can make a real difference in your daily quality of life. That’s why I love Mayflower: it’s not just an easy place to stock up on eggs and soda, but is also run by awesome people who clearly brighten everyone’s day. Mayflower has everything you need to make a gourmet meal, from gnocchi to steak and salmon. Deli cases often get overlooked, but Mayflower’s is fresh and well-stocked. I love their falafel(just warm in your oven), tamales, corn dogs, and hummus. Their potato salad is perfection. This is my favorite place to buy feta(the fresh stuff in the deli case, not the crumbles or wrapped varieties). There’s a mark-up, as with all corner stores. Living in SF means constantly budgeting money against time. But even when we’re trying to save money on groceries, we still find ourselves heading to Maryflower almost every day, and we’re happy to do so.

So much to love about MM. I’ve always found what I’m looking for here, and whether it be dairy, produce, or basic staples, the quality has always been excellent. Prices are more than fair, the owners are really helpful and friendly, and they seem to have everything! Win win, win!

Overpriced, but that’s what you get for convenience stores in this area. Mayflower does have an expansive selection of groceries. Fresh produce, frozen food, deli, refrigerated food, alcohol, etc. The store is neat and well-kept. Counter service is friendly and efficient, family-run. Would get 5-stars if it wasn’t so overpriced.

Do you enjoy organic vegetables? Do you prefer to have unique offering of merchandise? We’re not talking crappy Oreo cookies were talking tate cookies. This is a family owned spot. They are so nice and so willing to accommodate. If they don’t have something you want that would like, bring in the items and they will check the bar code and see if it’s part of their options for merchandise. Really great you have in the neighborhood. We mostly have small crappy 99 cent store but this spot gets close to what I’m hoping for in a grocer

Anytime I am in a pinch to get regular grocery items that I don’t normally get at Trader Joe’s like vegetable oil, creamed corn and potato hash, I stop by and quickly grab something. Prices are a bit more than Safeway but it’s amazing that this little store has pretty much everything you need, even obscure uncommon stuff, if you need it, they probably have it. Super convenient especially if you live in the neighborhood when you need to pick up something quickly.

This place is great, they really do have everything. An amazing deli, a big liquor and wine section, fresh produce, canned and dry foods, really everything you could want… even a spatula — which I had needed. The store is very clean and everything is shelved nicely. Also, the guys working there are hotties and really very personable. :-)

Never a let down. I even like the good selection of postcards they have out front. Whether you are on the prowl for a bottle of wine, a box of cereal, almond milk, granola, a frozen meal, fresh vegetables or fruit, «Middle Eastern» treats and edibles or random household goods, you’ll find what you are looking for here.

Market Mayflower is next to the mayflower hotel which may or may not explain why prcing seems high here. offerings: skin mags, deli/sammie counter, lots of wines, chips(2.95ish) microbrew 6 paks(10.99), lots of convenience food. also everything is available here .for a price. buys: itoh dark green tea/(1.99) –sure daiso has it for 1.50 –not impressed. low end tea leafs notes: –everything pricey here. –service ok. selection 4 stars, pricing 2 stars. –store very clean, neat.

Amazing fresh deli food: the best hummus I have ever tasted; after a long spell of hummus hiatus due to over dose and too much garlic in my step-mother’s recipe, I am back with a new passion due to this tasty offering #sosmooth. Apparently this deli is known for their hummus as they boast to go through 2 serving dishes per day.
