Decent cinnamon roll, bad customer service. No smile, not friendly, didn’t offer to heat up the roll. Won’t be back.

Purchased the ham & cheese pocket along w/a chocolate donut for $ 11. The ham & cheese pocket was tasty but a bit overpriced for $ 7.50. The donut was incredibly rich and chocolate-y. Perfect for chocolate lovers.

Love this place! 5 stars or 6 on product quality! 1 star on service and ease of obtaining product, hence 2 stars. But they are always closed! I arrive before 8 for work and leave after 6 a lot of the time. But they also definitely run out of all fresh things by 4(just walked by today at 4). It would be great if you guys could open earlier and capture all that morning traffic. Also was not happy with the fact that I walked by at 745 the other day, everything was already set up and laid out, and the lady refused to let me purchase something. Not real great service! At minimum, Opening up at 730 am would even make a noticeable difference.

EVERYTHINGISGLUTENFREE!!! YAAAAAAAAS!!! I’ve been struggling with gluten for the last 6 years(we have a love-hate relationship), and I’ve suffered through a lot of horrible«gluten free» items, such as mushy«cupcakes,» powdery cakes, and brick-hard toast. This place even surprised my boyfriend, as everything tasted completely legit. Prices are definitely on the higher side as it is a specialty item, but worth it for us deprived individuals. I got everything from cookies to gingerbread to pop tarts(«yummy» tarts) and they were all absolutely delightful. I actually wish I bought more to take home to be honest… side note, I DID get a gingerbread cookie that tasted burnt, but everything else more than makes up for it… I can’t wait to be back to break my wallet again!

What a great Bakery!!! Love empanadas and cinnamon rolls! You guys are doing such a great job! I even wished to be part of your team. I was visiting SF and stayed there for a while, and I truly enjoyed eating gluten free food. It is super delicious and heathy at the same time, as well there are dairy free choices. I was so amazed that I wish we had something like this in my country. The prices are higher than non gluten food but I guess it is more pricy to make gluten free food. The customer service was great as well! Really pleased with the experience.

Prices on Unilocal are wrong. Everything was prob double that price, but oh well. I had the gobbler with crackers. Pretty yummy, but not sure if it was $ 13 yummy. The cinnamon roll was decent. Sampled the apple pie, and that tasted delicious! First time visiting in San Fran & they by far had the best customer service.

The young man at the ferry location is probably the nicest human being I’ve met in a while. Hearts hearts for him. So thoughtful and kind!

Incredible GF bakery. Loved the chocolate cookies. I wish I could try more. We were on vacation and found this gem at Pier 1 in SF.

Was just in San Fran for a conference and decided to get my gluten free on! I walked like 25 minutes to get here and let me say… it was worth every step. I got the tuna melt, a chocolate croissant and a cinnamon roll. I have not had a tuna sandwich, let alone tuna melt since i was diagnosed a decade ago. OHMYGOD it was amazing! As for the chocolate croissant, I dont know how they do it but it has the often missing buttery flakiness that really makes a chocolate croissant heaven. Cinnamon roll was equally tasty. I am so taken with this place that I will probably be breaking the bank with online ordering of deliverable goods(i.e. MOAR chocolate croissants).

I really wanted to like this place. I was so excited coming here. I read all the reviews and searched many blogs about it and planned on splurging on the best gluten free bakery. The items are really nicely packaged but that’s about as far as it goes, they taste really awful… I bought a 4 pack of cinnamon rolls for about $ 17 and they tasted so awful. Tried the white bread too and was also gross. I understand you can’t bake the same way with gluten free as you do with regular flour but their products were just not tasty at all. There are much better selections you can buy at whole foods or simple recipes you can make yourself that will taste much better than this and cost ½ the price. Got a 4 pack cinnamon roll. 1 penguino, and 1 loaf of white bread. for $ 27. I want to throw it all away but am stuck eating it cause I don’t want to waste my money and the food. Their ingredients are also not the healthiest for you too.

Hands down! This is my favorite gluten-free bakery outside of Los Angeles. Mariposa has a dedicated gluten-free manufacturing facility so that I know I’m getting actual gluten-free goods. I will never miss real bread again when I can get my fix at Mariposa. They have these sandwich rolls that are versatile. I’ve been through lots of different brands of GF goods and I’ve seen them all(I.e. too-dense loaves of bread that could potentially break windows if tossed at them, unbreadlike textures, and cardboard flavors), so I think I’m pretty qualified to say that this here gem is one of the best finds a gluten-sensitive person could stumble upon. Just a heads up. This place is a little on the pricey side I must add. $ 9.50 for 5 large sandwich rolls. Then again, all restaurants charge about $ 2 extra for the GF option so it’s expected, and completely worth your monies! ;)

I don’t usually like gluten free baked goods… but when visiting the Embarcadero, the baked goods at the Mariposa bakery looked really good, so I decided to give it a try. I ordered a sandwich on the gluten free baguette(which I had never seen before)…and it was delicious !!! My friends and I went back for another… and it was sooo good, that I bought all the bread and baguettes they had left, to bring home. I kept them in the freezer … and they kept beautifully. We have just finished everything… and I will now have them ship me a supply of bread. I live in LA and have never seen this kind of gluten free bread. even at Whole Foods who had an extensive gluten free dept. HIGHLY recommend Mariposa.

I love the concept of this cute Bakery! I really love the tarts and cupcakes. There was so much to choose from! If you’re in the embarcadero area or ferry building and needing something sweet, id recommend stopping by! Must try: any of the cupcakes

On the walk to Pier 39 from the Pier 1 ferry stop we decided to check out the shops in the ferry building. As we were passing Mariposas their delicious displays caught my attention. After noticing they were also gluten free, I was interested in trying something. Based off the cashiers suggestion, I purchased their pumpkin chocolate chip muffin. I love pumpkin anything so I was pretty sure I would enjoy it and yes… I did. The muffin was so soft, which is rare for a gluten free bakery(at least the ones Ive tried) and the flavor combination worked just right. With one bite of this muffin I got a mild pumpkin flavor with little burst of chocolate goodness, I really enjoyed it. I would love to come back and try their cookies

The more I have from Mariposa Baking Co the more impressed I am with their desserts. My first exposure was via their penguin cupcakes(that you can find at whole foods, etc.) They are super chocolatey, moist, and creamy. Next, I ordered a black and white cake for someone at my office. They did a great job with the personal message and the cake itself was incredible. The rest of my co-workers who aren’t vegan or gluten free were shocked that it was both! While I was at their Ferry building kiosk, I was surprised to see that they have a couple vegan breakfast and lunch options. I’m excited to try out their lunch someday, as it’s not always easy to find good vegan options in and around FIDI.

This place has all gluten-free food. I don’t have a gluten allergy but I decided to try here because the lines were ridiculously long for every other café/eatery in the Ferry Building. I ordered their Gobbler with a side of chips for lunch and was pretty disappointed. Super tiny portion and the sandwich was dry. Wasn’t terrible but it was just OK. I’ve definitely had way better and bigger turkey sandwiches(for the same price). I don’t recommend this place unless you have a gluten allergy or just really REALLY don’t want to wait in line for somewhere else.

I’ve been diagnosed Celiac for 5 years and every time I’m in SF I have to stop here! I’m a little surprised at the reviews that say they didn’t love the goods here. Maybe they’re used to eating amazing gf stuff elsewhere? But I’ve tried a lot of different brands/bakeries in my 5 years of gf living and I think Mariposa is the best bakery I’ve tried so far! I always get the breakfast sandwich on an everything bagel… SOGOOD! It is probably the only place I can get a good gf bagel and it’s worth every calorie. The cinnamon rolls are also delicious — ask them to warm it up for you. The muffins are super moist and the rolls are soft. I thought the Danishes were just ok but I’m also not a big fan of a danish… I just tried a bite of my mom’s. They have a lot of options for holiday meals… you can order pies, rolls, and even gf challah! If you go on their website, they’ll also ship you whatever you want if you’re out of state. This place is gluten free heaven!!!

Best ham and cheese sandwich the gluten-free wife has had in three years? Check. (We risked being late to our flight just to get another one on our last day in town.) Best baguette the gluten-free wife has had in three years? Check. (She even bought some to take on our wine country tour, so she could enjoy the wine and cheeses there and not miss out!) Tied for best pizza the gluten-free wife has had in three years(with a nod to Austin’s «Via 313»)? Check. (I even thought it was pretty great) Best chocolate chip cookie and cinnamon roll the gluten-free wife has had in three years? Yep. Mariposa, if you are looking to franchise your gluten-free bakery in Texas, please send us a message. Kthxbye. 4.97 stars.

This is Gluten Free baked goods as they should be. Delicious. So good, even those of us who can eat regular baked goods can eat this and say, hey this is tasty. If you’re GF, then you should try this. The cinnamon rolls are wonderful, as are the bear claws, jelly filled pastry, and the veggie quiche(served warmed!). We kept coming back, because GF baking is not this good everywhere, so «carbo-load» when you can. Yummy! Friendly and efficient service too!
