This is a cool store with a ton of breakable items that are super overpriced and not really worth your time to buy or look at. Coming here was kinda funny as the shopkeeper was really how should I say like buy this or get out type of feeling it’s like look if I want to buy something I will and who knows I might of actually gotten something had I not felt like I was being stared down the entire time I was here. Design is something I enjoy doing seeing and being a part of this store was filled with a ton of kinda cool stuff but the atmosphere killed it and kinda made me leave quicker than I would have had I been offered some help instead of a cold dark stare. Bottom line there’s a ton of shops like this all over if one isn’t positive skip it because the other one will have what your looking for hopefully with a smiling face!

BEWARE. HIGHPRESSURESALESTACTICS. Wandered into this store… I’ve been really wanting a fountain for our backyard. We were approached by the most arrogant, pompous man who said he was the owner. He showed us many beautiful things. I found what I wanted right away But he wouldn’t stop… taking us to the store next door…“follow me” he kept insisting. Up the elevator. down the elevator. We were finally like… ummmm…we’ve seen enough now. He couldn’t stop talking about how successful he is… how many stores he has… his famous neighbors in New York. even went so far as to state that Donald trump is his friend. For real??? The main item I wanted was a beautiful mermaid fountain. He offered it to me for $ 7500 but he wouldn’t stop… it was like one of those infomercials…“but wait”…he was just exhausting to deal with. He was so pushy about how good a deal it was and that I better not walk away etc etc. He just kept pushing and pushing. I absolutely loved the fountain and my husband and I wanted to go have lunch and discuss/research the brand before committing to spending $ 7500. I asked for his name and reached out to shake his hand. He wouldn’t tell me his name and didnt shake my hand. He got aggressive and said something like«you don’t need my name… if you walk out the deal is off… simple as that…» I can’t quite remember what else he said but he made some other comments. I was in shock. We walked out and agreed that it was the absolute most obnoxious, nasty salesperson we had ever encountered. At lunch… My husband told me I could get the fountain if I really wanted it. We have the funds to do so. I researched and discovered it was an excellent deal he had offered. BUT because of how he treated us… I would never buy anything from that store.

My friend and I wandered around in this over-the-top, garish but also classic store with 7′ tall statues of knights in armor, jade trinkets, cheap stemware and art that Kim Kardashian would find too much. Being artists, we were fascinated by the collection like some others are fascinated by car accidents. That said, there were a few pieces that were beautiful, if not unique or well taken care of such as a chandelier covered in dust and a lovely Japanese painting. We were the only customers in the store. In fact, we were the only humans in the place — not a salesman or employee in sight. Pretty odd for being right in the Wharf on a Friday night. Dressed casually, we probably didn’t «look» like we were out to spend $ 10K on a ceramic vase made in China to appear like it was an antique. Regardless, we wouldn’t have bought anything there anyway. Money doesn’t equal class, nor does it buy it. I noticed on the door that it has a statement that appointments are available. I tried to imagine a linebacker for the 49er’s making an appointment or an executive at Apple doing the same to shop there to redo the living room or foyer. My brain broke at the thought. I think they have too much taste.

Worst place to shop. The owner is the biggest ass you can ever meet. Tell me that don’t Bullshit with me if you not going to buy. I was like that’s how you treat a customer. I would not trust this guy. By his attitude I wouldn’t be suprise if the items he is selling are fake. Be very carefull before buying from this place. He has two store next to each other. Do Not Buy From This Place.

Some years back we went to this business. My husband was told that one of their statues was 1600 dollars and was rare, the next day we went back and another salesman said that there were lots of them in storage and they were $ 80 really? I’m suspicious that this stuff is Chinese imports. After all it’s high tourist area.

I have always been interested in ivory so I walked in to check out this store. I see that they have an ivory collection, but it is behind a velvet rope. So I asked a worker there if I can check it out. He told me I need to ask Gary. So he shouts for Gary and points to where he is at. I asked him, «Can I check out the ivory collection.» He gives me this kind of stare(kind of like«I know you are not going to buy anything», and«don’t waste my time»). And then he asked me if I was a collector(with a look on his face like, I already know you are not.) I said yes I am a collector. Who does it matter if I am a collector or not. And he gives me this rude look. Hopefully that is not his normal look. I would hate to look like that for the rest of my life. I just said forget it. He seemed like he was more into a conversation he was having with another guy. So I asked him what is his name, just to clarify so I can write this bad review on him. He tells me his name is George. LMAO!!! I asked him that question already knowing his name is Gary just to see what he would say. I then left the store. Then I walk down a couple of blocks and see another store looking quite similar. Apparently they are both the same company. I saw some ivory and I asked a worker if I could check it out. He also asked if I was a collector and I said«yes I am.» He let me walk in there and I looked at their collection for no more than 3 minutes. It was quite amazing. I come back out and talk to the worker there for a short time and I told him my Gary/George story. I can say I am pretty confident that Gary lied to me about his name after our short conversation. The guy working at the desk hears my conversation and says, «Gary, George, they’re both the same name.» LMAO!!! What in the? That is like saying Barry is the same as Rudolph the Red Nose Reindeer. All in all, how can you operate a business with this type of customer service? The store is located in Fisherman’s Wharf, where all the tourists go. They should expect to see a lot of tourists! This place is too funny. Gary’s transformation to George! Class act for a classy store. The first place I checked out at 229 Jefferson deserves –10 stars. The worker at the second store boosted up the star rating by 11 so that gives them a grand total of 1 star. If you are not in a suit, don’t expect to get any type of good customer service.

Was looking around with my wife and a friend. Just doing some browsing when I saw an old beat up looking couch. Since my wife was still looking around I though I could sit for a minute, and sat down for just a few seconds before the owner huffily told me ‘that couch is not for sitting on!” Ok that’s fine, its his shop so if he doesn’t want anyone to sit on it ok… except after we left I passed by again an hour later and guess what? some other customers were sitting on the couch while the owner talked to them. I guess we looked too poor or something for him and were not allowed to sit on the shitty couch. ONESTARFORYOUTHEN.

If this place had a negative –0 I would definitely click that link! Yesterday was not only my birthday but also my anniversary. Me & my significant other chose to take a trip out to san Francisco and do some sight seeing. We see this amazing Art Gallery which we chose to then browse and perhaps purchase a memento for the day. We walked inside and looked around shelf to shelf, statue to statue and ended up near the back of the store,(Mind you there is another couple in the same area). This middle eastern looking man in a tan coat and scarf, quite rudely and loudly said«CAN I HELPYOU2?» we said, no thank you, we were just looking for now. He then proceeded to walk over to our area in a Huff and say that we are not allowed in the back section, I told him, «Why not? There are people here also» and he said«YES, BUTTHEYARECUSTOMERS». So what does that mean? That we look like a bunch of Tourists just window shopping? Or were we discriminated against? Were we not dressed to his particular standards? I have never experienced such rude and disrespectful customer service, I will never refer anyone to this business and I will never so much as choose to glance this way again should I ever take a trip to san Francisco. I even asked him if they were on Unilocal. He stuttered and asked why? then said no they are not on the internet. So on top of his rude service he also lied. I told him I will look them up so we can comment on their customer service. 0000 Stars! definitely THEWORST experience yet in that city, the wharf was great, the museums and art galleries although this place is just a negative in my book. Some of the items are quite gawdy at that.

Purchased a 6 ft. tall bronze eagle weighing about 350 lbs. It is a beautiful statue and a quality piece of art. It probably was cast in China, but none the less is a well manufactured piece. Great patina finish. It is a pricey item, but even looking around the internet really couldn’t find something similar for any less. The staff handled all crating and shipping. It was freighted 750 miles via two shippers. Arrived in perfect condition, a tribute to how nicely is was handled in packing and in transport. Arrival was timely as assured at time of sales. The store has lots of beautiful stuff. I’ld buy there again, but also would comparison shop and not be taken in by compulsive purchase. I wouldn’t say there are great bargains in the store, but also would say that they have things not easily found elsewhere and that in itself deserves some premium in pricing.
