Mai is amazing. I love her work ethic and the way she runs the shop. This is one of the few places that does acrylic right for a decent price in SF! I tried at least 6 places before finding this salon and now she is my regular!

Annie is the best she always does an amazing job on my nails, definitely reccomend. Also the owner lady of the salon, forgot her name she’s awesome too and did my eyebrows amazing, beautiful shape and super careful on her waxing skills ! Highly reccomend this place!

I have been coming here for 10 years, Mai has seen me grow up and in turn I watched her flourish while this was still Helen’s Beauty Salon. And it all started with a manicure for my 8^th grade graduation! I have never experienced a bad mani or pedi here and I have done acrylics, gel, regular polish and also brow waxing. The prices are really good considering there are many salons in the same area with higher prices but less adequate service. Maybe I am being a bit biased since I have come here for so long but I know that I would not have devoted myself to this one salon if it wasn’t worth it! I should also mention that I HAVE tried other salons (Mai don’t be mad! haha) but in my all honesty, no one else compares! Give this place a shot, I have a good feeling you may become a regular like me! :)

Unfortunately I have never had a very good experience here. Had a gel mani once that didn’t look great and I just went for a pedicure since there is never a wait. First off, the last cut my toe nails without asking and I had only wanted them filed. There wasn’t much of a leg massage because she was watching a movie or something. After, there was no foot drier so I had to sit there over fifteen minutes waiting for them to dry. While she was watching a movie and eating. The ladies who work here are really sweet, but I don’t recommend going here if you want a great nail experience.

I discovered this place about six months ago and have been going back twice a month since. I am always happy with the quality of my mani and pedi, the friendliness of Mai and her staff, and the efficiency of not having to wait in a crazy long line. Looking forward to trying out another service from them today!

I came here because I didn’t feel like waiting at the long lines for Richmond Nails and wanted to give somewhere else in my neighborhood a shot. My pet peeve is when you don’t fill in every part of the nail. It’s a regular manicure, but I had to ask her twice to paint the entire nail and not do a spotty job… she only did 2 coats and did not thoroughly paint them.
I also saw someone else’s nail clippings in the nail clippers they were about to use on me… In addition, this is the first place I’ve been to where there is NO hand massage at all. She got up 3+ times to answer the phone, get someone change, etc.
Very nice ladies, but I would think you’d try a little harder to impress a first time customer. For $ 12 the manicure is cheap, but there are dozens of nail salons in the Richmond that offer manicures at the same price. The little things matter!

Decent gel and pedicure, cheap and quick.
The place is clean but not sparkling clean, clean enough for me, the ladies are nice and not rushing their work.
I finally find decent and cheap nails salon in the area, I had better gel and pedicure but I will be back because the work is good enough and the price is cheap compare to the other salons in the area.
A note: they had me sitting in a regular chair for pedicure instead of the massage chair so maybe the price is different if you get the spa pedicure.

I can only speak about the manicurist that I had but she is a menace to society. I had a manicure Saturday and my toes still hurt. I do not think she changed gloves between customers and whether or not she did, she had lipstick on her glove. Not only did she do a poor job of trimming the cuticles and hangnails but I am still sore and applying both antibacterial and anti fungal creams as my toes and thumbs are sore and a bit red. I really should have gotten up when I had the first feeling of uneasiness about the hygiene. I am hoping that I do not get a serious infection. Stay away!

Previously known as Helens beauty salon, it has a great location right on Geary by the 38 bus stop and there’s plenty of meter and residential parking. This is a great local shop that’s been open for years now with very welcoming employees and lots of regulars. They recently renovated so it’s now equipped with massage chairs and a waxing room.
I personally love this place. I’ve been going here for years and Mai is the only one I trust with my eyebrows. She listens to what I want and I always end up leaving happy. As for manicures and pedicures it’s affordable with a large selection of colors and end result is always more than satisfying. I recommend anyone that needs to get any waxing or nail job done, to come here and give it a try !
