I highly recommend Syntha. She is down to earth, warm, caring, fully accepting, open minded, skillful, encouraging, and engaging. Working with her I have appreciated her focus on helping me get to my goals quickly, and bringing up aspects of my issues that I was not able to see alone. I have benefited from her feedback greatly, and always felt inspired after our meetings. Syntha has a great energy :)

What would I have done without Syntha? Let’s not go there. About 9 months ago my life went into a serious tail spin after a horrible breakup with my gf of 10 years. I knew it was imperative that I find a shrink fast; but, finding the right therapist is not the fastest or easiest process. I have had a few therapists in my life, she is my 7th, so I have learned the hard way that finding the right person is VERY important. When I was searching out a new therapist, I made a lot of phone calls and most of my referrals evaporated mainly due to insurance issues. I was determined to find someone who was on my health plan(Aetna HMO). It was very frustrating, but I finally called Syntha. Strangely enough, she had been referred to me by my ex’s therapist, so I was hesitant to call her for obvious reasons. But, I was desperate and called her when nothing else was panning out. I liked Syntha right off the bat, but the best thing I found out in my first session was that she was an adoptee like me. I had never had a therapist who was also an adoptee and she specialized in the subject. Wow, how perfect is that? Especially since, as it turns out, most of my issues have to do with being adopted. Well, I have made a lot of progress and was very lucky that the fit was so good with Syntha. Only 2 of the 7 therapists I have ever been to were gifted. I honestly feel that most therapists are pretty bad practitioners and should find another field. Anyway, especially for you adoptees, if you’re ever looking for a therapist who can understand the issues you face in your life give Syntha a call. She turned me onto the best book I ever read on the subject of being an adoptee called, «The Primal Wound» by Nancy Verrier. The premise being that there is a wound that occurs when a baby is given up for adoption that causes profound problems in the adoptee’s life. A controversial stance because most professionals, and the population in general, feel that as long as you are adopted into a loving home everything will be hunky dory. NOTTRUE!!! Anyway Syntha has really helped me and she can help you too.(415) 255‑3225
