Bought some dish towels in this charming little shop. Now I have converted them into throw pillows. They remind me of my trip to San Francisco. Köpte några diskhanddukar i denna charmiga lilla affär. Nu har jag omvandlat dom till prydnadskuddar. Dom påminner mig om min resa till San Francisco.

I love it when I take a wrong turn and end up finding something fantastic, like this cute art and gift shop filled with a great variety of locally made unique items. Gifts, cards, t-shirts, tea towels, art and so much more. A great spot for a random stop. If I was in the area I would be in here ALL the time!

This hidden gem of a store at 17th& Market(where the Muni F Line stops) is my secret weapon for San Francisco-themed gifts. Almost everything is made locally and totally unique. It’s the perfect place to find a gift for an out of towner, or someone new to the city. From art prints/photographs, to jewelry, to mugs and letterpress cards, to soaps and jellies. The prices are really reasonable too(think $ 5 unframed prints).

I found this shop via a friend and was not disappointed. I saw a photo of blue & gold Cali map earrings and thought to myself: WARRIORGEAR!!! I messaged Kyra the owner, she responded immediately with answers to all my questions and held a pair for me! The shop is so cute with lots of SF goodies, cards, t’s all locally made. I even did my first Unilocal and received a cool water bottle! Look forward to going back.

This store is super cool. Inventory always changes and there is no shortage of great finds– especially if you are looking for a cool SF handmade gift. The prices are really high so I don’t shop here much, but I’m sure they reflect the handmade quality of the pieces. Definitely a place everyone should go at least once. People who work there are really nice and most of them have items for sale so you can learn about their trade or technique. Super cool clothes as well.

Stopped by here, such as great shop!!! There are many local items that are unique. A somewhat of an art gallery as well with local artists’ works. Very cool place. Very friendly staff. Good size store with many nice products. Parking can be tough.

Absolutely love this place! It has the best selection of SF merchandise anywhere in town. Bought myself a nice little tote bag with Sutro Tower on it! Really quality stuff. Wide variety. Gorgeous little shop. Looking forward to my next visit.

I’ve been wanting to check Local Take out when I first saw it a few months back. I finally had the chance to during one of the federal holidays that just passed. It’s a cute store with lots of great local products. The two women who worked there were really nice. They had a meeting with a local vendor, so I didn’t want to interrupt when I had a question. One of them came up to me to ask how I was doing. I asked if they had a medium of a shirt I wanted in the back, and she got it right away. She could’ve said she would be right with me after the meeting, or she could’ve ignored me. But she took care of me right away and I appreciate that. If you’re in the Castro as either a tourist or a local, you should visit this place for unique merchandise.

One of the best souvenir shops I’ve ever seen. Having lived in Boston, Seattle, and New York, I’m accustomed to stores with tourist-trap kitsch of crappy quality. This store is the exact opposite. Customers will find unique items of good quality that capture the true quirky spirit of SF. I intend to return and to bring friends and family when they visit. Special shoutout to Kyra and Eric who provide top notch customer service. Not only do they help with your in-store purchases, they also provide tips about the best of SF generally.

This is the cutest store for fun & unique San Francisco gifts! It will be my new go-to for baby gifts, especially — they have a big variety of onesies with cool & creative designs(e.g. GG bridge with a dinosaur on it).

This place is fast becoming a local institution. Packed with locally produced, mostly SF-esque clothing, gifts, prints. Super nice service too — ask for Kyra.

I couldn’t love this store more. They have an excellent selection of things all about San Francisco and California, all by locals; the staff is fun and friendly and knowledgeable. They have things in all price ranges so it’s the perfect stop for a great gift!

I walked into this shop back in Dec 2013 just to browse and left with three items. I walked out remarking to them«I know I love a place when I see twenty things I want in just 15 minutes. I’m be back.» Today I stopped in quickly as I was on errands and only had a few minutes. Left with three items and regretted I didn’t have time to look more. This is such a fantastic store. I’m putting their business card on my desk to remind me to go there repeatedly for gifts for my friends … and for myself.

The name says it all. This is some of the cleverest stuff on offer in the City, walk slower and take it in. There are so many categories of goods, so much for the eye to enjoy. Coming here, one gets a take on this burg that is at once attractive, clever, tactile and more. Just like SF. A great representation of San Francisco, the City. Everyone I know loves this place, perfect for gifts(self and others) and a great place to bring visitors. My cousin Mary still talks about her visits here. Always great and helpful service makes for a 5 star experience in retail. Enjoy!

One of my newest neighbors in the Castro, Local Take is a welcome addition to the neighborhood. It boasts a great selection of jewelry, artwork, clothing, and home accessories. Lots of handmade and locally sourced products that don’t break the bank. The best part about this place(besides the always friendly and helpful customer service) is their array of artwork and prints. If you are looking for something unique for your walls, this is the place to go. The product selection is not only great to look at, but has a great sense of humor that will leave you with a smile. Warning: it’s hard to stop in here without buying something!

Another local artsy store without the hipster pretentiousness. The staff here is SO friendly! And you can even bring your dog inside the store! I guess we were lucky because when we stumbled upon it, the store just so happened to be hosting a «Valentine’s Day Shopping Party’ aka an excuse to drink some booze(beer & wine) and eat some goodies. for free! They have a great selection of local goods, from home décor to SF-pride punny shirts to jewelry to soaps. It took a massive amount of self-control to not want to buy everything in sight. My favorite was the laser-cut artwork! Perfect place to pick up a gift!
