Lightning Coin Launderette

I would give 0 star if I could.
I agree with Mariela D. There are lots of washers and dryers but most of them are out of order or not working properly.
I have experienced that the washer did not start after taking my coins or the dryers did add the heat minutes after taking my coins.
I could have let those experiences go because this coin laundromat is close by my place and kept coming back to this place out of my convenience.
But last incident was not totally acceptable.
Here is what happened.
I put my $ 5 bill into the bill change machine and got no coins nor bill back.
I called the emergency number to report the incident and left a message with what happened. The owner of the laundromat called me back and told me to meet me next day (Sunday) at 9 am for money back.
He called me at 9 am when I was already at the laundromat and cancelled the appointment and told me to come back next day (Monday). He promised me that he would drop off the money at my mail box next day when I told him that I work during the week. The money was never returned to me.
I called again to see if he has mailed it or was planning to drop off the money. His daughter answered the call this time and accused me of lying with the explanation of how they operate the business thus this kind of incident would never happen and their machines are perfect.
In the end she promised that she would deliver or mail the money to me in a few days anyways to keep the customer happy. It has been two weeks since the incident but the $ 5 has never been returned to me.
It is not about $ 5 but they can’t even keep the promise to the customer. They got no sense of customer service and no appreciation for customers.
I have notice that since this owner took over the place, he took out the pre-​wash cycle from the washer. As Mariela D. mentioned in her review, there are lots of not working washers and dryers in this place. Now there is no detergent vending machine.
If you want to do the laundry without worrying your money being ripped off, I would not certainly recommend this place.
The owner does not care about your business anyways.

Looks can be deceiving. The saying «the lights are on but no body’s home» comes to mind…
Lots of washers (small and oversized) and dryers but the dryers are often out of order. There is a number posted if you need to call the owner for emergencies (or if the machine eats your money) but that’s not very reassuring.
Pros:
They have a vending machine for detergent and softener.
This is especially convenient especially now that Bell Market (used to be on the corner) is closed down now.
Cons:
Not enough dryers
Limited seating
The washing machines look durty and often have other people’s leftover socks in them
Parking sucks but at least it’s free!
