I gave them another shot with another large catering order. This time I decided upon their chicken which is supposedly their signature dish. I ordered A LOT of chicken along with some tostones, yucca frittas, maduros, beans and some beans and rice. Although I shouldn’t have ordered the beans the whole meal was very good. The tostones were a little dry and but the yucca frittas put me in fat heaven! I could eat those all day, everyday if I didn’t care about my girlish figure. The chicken got mixed reviews. Some thought it was good and some thought it barely had any meat on it. I agree on the skinny chickens but overall I’m bumping them up a star.

My vegetarian burrito had MEAT(looks and tastes like chicken) in it. Not a lot, but it seemed to be mixed in with the rice(and it was fortunately at the bottom). I ordered it yesterday and didn’t eat it until this morning or I would have taken it back to them and showed them. It’s been well over a decade since I’ve found unwanted meat in my purportedly vegetarian food. To me, this is absolutely unacceptable

Now theyre a pizza place… Well the pizza isn’t so bad and not too pricey. Still the same place it was before. They still have burgers and sandwiches. They used to take too long to make a simple burrito and were rather expensive, but I think theyre headed in the right direction now.

I wish I could get my money back. First thing I thought when I put that shrimp taco in my mouth was, «wtf is this?!» The shrimp tasted and smelled unusual, at least the guacamole tasted fresh and covered it up. The customer service wasn’t any better. Then again the place itself isn’t that great either. Just go to mission and explore the better options there.

La Parrilla Grill is one of the best places for Mexican Fod. If you are around the CCSF Ocean Campus with a desire to eat a burrito, this is the place to go to! Their burritos are awesome! I come in here for lunch when I attended classes at City College of San Francisco Main Campus. Whenever I come here for lunch, I order my the bean and cheese burrito with rice. I’ve eaten lunch/midday snack here about 10 times from 2009 – 2011 and my meal here has never failed me. The tortilla these folks use for making their burritos are large. A grilled tortilla with rice, bean and cheese on top and you roll it up, the size one burrito is so large that it practically kept me full until probably until dinner. The tortillas used are plain flour tortillas and spinach tortillas. I wish La Parrilla Grill was still around so I can keep coming back for their bean and cheese burrito when I’m craving for some Mexican Food! The food was very good as it seemed to have satisfy my cravings for Mexican Food. However, the only downside is that the menu items here were leaning toward the pricey side. Disclosure: There is a taqueria on Geneva Ave adjacent to the Phillies Cheesesteak restaurant. The name of this taqueria is Taqueria La Iguana Azul. Want a location that will staisfy your cravings for Mexican Food? Mission St is your answer since this corridor is known for the Mexican Restaurants in the area.

Worst roasted chicken I’ve ever eaten, dry and poorly seasoned. This chain store is located near City College, so during daytime most customers are students. The burritos are okay, and the fried yucca is good too. But that’s not enough to change my rating. You can get better Mexican food not too far away on Mission street(Mexico Tipico or Taqueria Menudo) for less. The difference is like night and day, here u spend $ 8-$ 10+ for barely okay food, while $ 6 can buy food at MT or TM that will have u licking your fingers. Hours: daily 10am-7pm

This 5 stars are for the ‘on the bone’ chicken. The chicken here is emmereffing delicious!!! It crushes rotisserie from anywhere in the city with a really nice, garlicky flavor that permeates the meat. The burritos are not bad, but in a city with a million top notch taquerias, they don’t really register. Too bad it closes early.

Not the cheapest Mexican place, but the closest around my school which comes in handy during short break times. Their food is pretty good. I usually order something with Carne Asada; it’s either the nachos or the burritos and I find that the meat is cooked right. I love the variety of salsas they have in their salsa bar. They have little takeout containers for those as well.

Hola amigos!!! I do enjoy trips to La Parilla Grill on Ocean Ave… here’s why: OVERALLRATING: 3.5 1. Yummy food… my personal faves: — Camarones Burritto supremo ****5STARS — Roasted pollo — -****5STARS… muy delicioso = o)~~ — Yucca Fritta – fried pieces of potato HEAVEN!!! comes with this yummy garlic dip!!! Aye papi/mami///the whole family, ok? — Horchata… meh, I’ve had better — Chips… ok…3.5 stars… they need to be a little less corny… a little thinner, salt balance is ok… perhaps not so chunky? — Salsa bar — -nice array of salsas to choose from, pick as much/many as you’d like… they provide neat o lil containers and lids are right there FREE WI-Fi! Plasma t.v.s with either sports or videos or novellas… gotta luv that! That not so fave parts: — The parking stinks! No lot and no street parking in front of the restaurant(no parking zone) …so you either park across the street near Wheelworks and jay walk/run for your life to cross over or park ’round the block on residential street I suppose. — The leering staff… the front guy is ok… he doesnt say much… but when a woman of any age/shape/size/situation walks in, the cooks/dishwaher/whoemever have to come out and take a ganders or 2… kinda like the creepy shoe guy at the place in Lakeside Village… makes a gal want to wear a BURKA when she’s getting her burrito and chips! — Their hours seems to change without notice… like, they’ll suddenly decide to close 2 hours early some night and that stinks… if you have your heart set on a burritto and call 1 – 2 hours before closing and either no one answers or some huffy woman says«we CLOSE» and hangs up… yikes! All in all, decent food, decent prices, clean, plenty of tables… This place is either packed(Riordian High School, Lick Wilmerding and City College are mere blocks away OR no one is in there! Weekends are d efinitely less busy than weekdays, again, because of the school/college sitch If you happen to find yourself ON Ocean Ave(near City College/the Muni Loop) check them out! Definitely better than«Ocean Taqueria» on Ocean Ave, about 8 blocks West of La Parilla.

We come here most of the time for their beef burritos and half size chicken. The chicken has been inconsistent both on taste and portion. Sometimes they give us one extra thigh, something they shoved the whole«half» chicken into a tiny take out box. Sometimes they forget to give me the tortilla bread for my chicken. The beef burritos has always been delicious, the salsa bar has decent among of choices. We haven’t had any problem with messed up orders, however we have been going there so often the server always knows what I will have before I open my mouth to speak.

This place has the look and feel of a college student lounge, you know, slightly askew with lot’s of lounging folks studying. I am especially fond of the Yucca fries that come with a garlic oil for dipping. YUM! The chicken is good, but I like it best on the bone, I found the chicken in the tacos to be a little bit dry. One time I ordered french fries and guacamole and the guacamole was perfect. The salsa bar has a nice array of choices. The menu is multi-latin. Some Mexican, some Cuban, etc… Great for eating in a no-fuss environment, also look for delicious french pressed coffee by the cup in the adjoining café.

I just went here this morning for an early lunch. I got a tofu burrito but tried my friend’s chicken, and it was amazing. Also, I’ve never been to a taqueria that has salsa cups that are actually large enough to accommodate enough salsa to use on a whole burrito. 5 stars!

Not horrendous, but I remember they messed up my burrito and the food was just mediocre. There are much much much better places in San Francisco. Go take BART to the Mission for a better burrito.

We hit La Parilla for take-out burritos for lunch almost every weekend. The service is always very friendly but kind of incompetent. It takes like four people to make each burrito, and there’s always confusion about marking which one is super and regular, etc. If you don’t like the burritos, it’s probably because you are getting chicken. Despite their claims that chicken is their specialty, the chicken burritos are really dry and flavorless. Carne asada is the way to go, super with no cheese if you ask me. The salsa verde is pretty good too, so I always add a little of that for more spice. Sure the prices are too high and the staff is a little disorganized, but the food is consistent and it’s close to our house. Definitely the best burrito on Ocean, compared to the place with the jalapeño wearing boots or Ocean Taqueria. Don’t get me started on those.

La Parilla is tasty Mexican grilled chicken but it’s been my experience that the food is inconsistent and the chicken pieces don’t really have much meat on them. You want this place to kick a whole lotta ass but it’s really just alright. If I were grading on a curve based on other food on Ocean Ave, I’d give it four stars, but if comparing to the rest of town, La Parilla gets a good solid three. Pollo Supremo at Mission and Niagra just entirely outshines La Parrila. They have free wifi which is a good thing and I’d imagine it’s especially good for students at City College, across the street. But since my house is ¾ mile away, I’d rather just use my own wifi.

Really good taqueria in ingleside. I wasn’t in the mood or a burrito, so went with their chicken salad. Really appreciated that they put it in a takeout carton instead of the fried tortilla shell, and I was impressed with the amount of grilled chicken, lettuce, beans, rice and tomatoes. Totally hit the spot.

Latest outpost of Parilla, on Ocean Ave by city college. The kitchen was still getting its legs when i stopped by a few days after opening, but the staff was already helpful and nice.

The newest addition to this chain, La Parrilla Grill(which translates to «the Grill Grill»…um, ok) finds a home across the street from City College. Convenient for business, a real disaster if you’re hungry when all the backpack wearing, notebook carrying mongrels leave class for feeding time. It’s a welcome addition to the sparse strip of Ocean Ave. near the school(which one would imagine could really be a goldmine if more places like this would tap in to the seemingly undiscovered market). It just opened and so saying it’s clean doesn’t say much, but I’ll say it anyway: it’s clean. The menu is the same at all the other locations so if you’ve been to one(I haven’t), I imagine you’d be familiar with the selection. They boast the«best chicken in town» and while I’d debate that, it certainly wasn’t bad. Past reviews have docked stars for dry chicken, but my breast(yes, MY breast) was anything but(MYBREASTSAREVERYMOIST is what I’m trying to say). My friend had a burrito and had no complaints, but I’d seek elsewhere to satisfy a craving. They take credit cards… kind of — they were making voids of cards which I imagine could present some problems if the line had been longer(those stupid slips take forever to get right… or maybe I’m retarded… or just technologically spoiled). Nothing to write home about, but I imagine I’ll be here often if only due to the location — close to home/school. If they really want to succeed, they should probably offer boba like every other damn place on Ocean Ave… hey, I’m not complaining! Horchata with tapioca pearls! Imagine the possibilities!
