Okay spot for a quick meal, but the food itself is average at best. Being by Union Square, the place was busy even right smack in the middle of the afternoon at 3:30pm. Service is fast though so there’s a pretty quick turnaround. Tried the GREENCURRY($ 10.50), which had bell pepper, bamboo shoots and green beans, and got it with chicken. Their medium spicy was pretty mild for me. The curry itself was very average and the chicken was tough and overcooked. Overall, not very impressed and I probably wouldn’t return. There’s definitely better options(Thai or not) in the area.

My date Angel took me to this place. He asked me if I liked Thai food, and well yes I love Thai food. this place was rockin. We got seats right away even though its located in one of the busiest parts of San Francisco. i have to say I’ve had Pad Thai at other places but this place, the Pad Thai was screaming with flavor. From the beginning to the very last drop I was savouring each bite slowly. Definitely a place worth returning to.

I was introduced by this place from a family friend and my first visit was extremely busy! This is the first Thai food place I ever had in San Francisco. I give this place a 9.5÷10. Food taste great, portion is perfect, the menu needs a little cleaning or a menu upgrade, opens late, and could use a better service in organizing table availability but other than that I am a returning customer!

The BF and I were downtown and had a hankering for Thai food. We walked to our favorite spot, Bangkok Thai, and found out they were closed, so we headed over to King of Thai. I have to say, nothing can compare to Bangkok Thai for their value and taste, but this is a good alternative. Their dishes are around $ 2 – 3 more expensive, but the BF’s duck noodle soup had good flavor and plenty of noodles. My pad thai came out piping hot and tasted great with extra peanuts and chili sauce.

Stopped in here for a low-key inexpensive meal with friends and that’s what we got. We came in about 7 PM-ish on a Saturday night and were seated right away upstairs. Give them credit for this, with a full restaurant it didn’t take them very long to get our food out. I would say maybe 10 minutes at most before our dishes started coming. The food was just fine. Not bad, not great. In my particular case I got kra pow and I would have liked a more assertive Thai basil flavor throughout, but the portion was fine and it was otherwise good. In any case, super quick, friendly, and attentive service and food in solid portions for relatively inexpensive prices — I wouldn’t mind coming back.

Great place for cheap, fast eats. The place isn’t the cleanest of places, and don’t expect ANY customer service. Servers here were a bit rude, but it is an Asian restaurant/café. I ordered their Wonton Soup W/BBQ Pork and added some noodles. It was pretty good. Overall, great place to stop by if you’re doing some shopping and are hungry, but wouldn’t make the effort to eat at this place if I had other choices in SF.

I came here with my sister and her friend, and there was a table available in the corner near the entrance. No one came to seat us, so we we decided to seat ourselves at the table. About a min later, the hostess came and asked us who seated us there, and we said ourselves. She then told us that the table was for handicapped people only. Really? I saw no handicap sign. But okay fine, no problem. She told us to go back and wait to be seated, and she pointed to the sign on the door that says«please wait to be seated». We then apologized. A few mins later, she sat us at a table in the front. I looked down on my chair, and saw that there was rice on the seat. Gross. Anyway, I ordered the combination beef noodle soup with egg noodles. It was yummy and full of flavor. The soup would’ve tasted a lot better if it was actually spicy. As we were leaving, I noticed there were people sitting at the«handicapped» table who weren’t even handicapped. Seriously? Baiiiii felicia.

TRYTHEGUAYTIAWLORD! Sooooo tasty. It’s thick white & wide noodles topped with tofu, shrimp, minced pork, eggs, soy sauce, coriander, peppers, etc. and it’s very filling and delicious! Very attentive and friendly service, even at 3AM! Much better than just a drunk food fix. Thanks, King of Thai!

Hubby and I were Downtown shopping and there are limited places where you can get good food reasonably priced. The food here isn’t the best you’ll get but the prices are not going to put you in the poor house. He had the fried chicken breast and complained it was overcooked and too dry. I had the shrimp fried rice which cost more but came with over 5 pieces of prawn, a lot more than what you might get at Marnee Thai which costs a lot more. I stay away from their broth noodle dishes and tom yum soup. Their rice dishes and pad thai are better.

Looking for food late night? Whether you are a tourist or local, this was the place to be! Super packed on a Saturday night. It was about 10 pm and I wanted food to go to eat in my hotel room. It was about a 7 minute walk for me to get there, I phoned my order just before I left and my food was ready when I arrived. I ordered the Thai fried rice with beef and the pad Thai. The pad Thai was really good, and it came with shrimp. The friend rice would have probably been better fresh, but it was in a closed container and by the time I got back it was a bit mushy. Then they could have been more generous with the beef… but I’m not complaining. Not the best Thai food in the world, but this place will definitely do the job when you’re hungry and looking for a decent quick bite late night.

I came here with my bf and his friends. I got the Lord noodle. Great food, fresh ingredient, portion is on the smaller side. Loved the peanuts there. Parking lot across the street for a good price. There’s long lines but plenty of staff. If trying to get take out, call ahead of time to order and then pick up– usually ready in 10 – 15 min. The pad-see-ew is also great and really fresh! You can select chicken, beef, pork or shrimp.

I used to work at the Westfield on Market so this place was my go to spot whenever I needed a good bowl of noodles. I’m not a huge fan of Thai food but their soups are soooo good! The place is bigger than it looks although I feel like their upstairs seatings got a bit smaller than the last time I was there. The female servers are very sweet and attentive. the guy that usually greets and seats you never smiles but I think that’s just his personality so I don’t really care. I always get their Tom Yum(spicy with egg noodles) and it never disappoints. Their vegetarian fried rolls are delish! Friend enjoyed his duck fried rice although it looked like it was 95% rice and hardly any duck meat. The only downside is that they for sure use MSG bc their portions are pretty big and I never end up feeling quite full and sometimes I’ll feel a bit dehydrated. But if that doesn’t bother you def check it out. they have a pretty extensive menu. If you’re a health freak omg I can’t stand preservatives GMO blah blah blah, then this ain’t your joint

I remember this place being very good after wrapping up a long night of bar hopping. Now that I am sober, it was really just okay. This place is open late, relatively inexpensive(for SF standards), and food comes out quickly. I think I could have had this quality of food in LA for half the price. Ordered the beef larb, which is essentially a ground beef salad mixed with a south east Asian flare. The dish was packed with spices which is how I like it, but it can be a bit overwhelming if you are not use to it. I had a little bit of my friends pad see ew, and it was definitely below average. The noodles were soggy and was way too oily. It seems like they just make a big batch of it and serve it to their customers as they order it.

Since moving to the city, my bf and I have probably eaten at this restaurant the most # of times. Service is quick, portions are large, and food is good. It’s more of a 3.5 stars, but I’m rounding up since they also open late. It’s been a savior for us during those late nights after clubbing or being out. My favorite here is the pad thai and my bf really likes the lord noodles. We’ve also tried their eggplant chicken rice dish and seafood noodle soup. I think the stir fried noodles still taste better. The most surprising things I recently discovered is that they have an upstairs dining space, so the wait is always not bad even though it’s always packed. :)

The only reason why this place is still in business is probably because of its convenient location/hours and proximity to a revolving door of tourists. I was hungry and cold when my dad was visiting the area so we stopped here for some noodle soup. I’m not sure if this was a bad choice but their store has the word noodle in it so it should’ve been a better experience. The beef noodle soup was ok, very bland tasting soup. Menu says it had spinach but there were just tiny pieces of greens in the dish… Meh The chicken noodle soup was awful. When it came out I was like«why does this look like noodles + water!?» Then I tasted it and it really was just chicken + noodles + bland soup water. I guess they expect people to have very turnt down tastebuds when visiting SF but I was so disappointed in this… Never returning.

Food is excellent! Ya’ll know how I do it. I don’t mess around, I say it how it is. I had the garlic chicken with white rice, but it’s called some kind of authentic Thai name here that I cannot produce. Sunni had a soup and $ 23 bucks later we were moving on to explore Union Square. What a surprise how many folks we out onm thanksgiving ! Amazing truly in this sanctuary city that so many are without family lol. We came to get away for a few days, cause we don’t eat turkey and frankly should become vegetarians after the Carl’s Jr we had while in traffic coming here from L.A. That said, this is a walk in place with single file waiting in line lol before you’re seated. Everybody is really nice and definitely authentic when it comes to the Thai experience. I know my Thai food and this place is excellent. I’m happy the girl at our fancy hotel suggested this joint. Btw, parking? Don’t try your luck. Just walk the hills and lose some weight. Our hotel has $ 52 bucks per night plus 14% tax… trust me I will write a review on that on our last evening here to ensure they don’t scratch up my Phantom.

Overall, the food is okay. It’s a decent place to try if you’re in the area and craving Thai and don’t have time to wait a long time. They’re bigger than the nearby Thai places so they have more seating, but the food is not as good. Food: –Pad see ew: noodles were kind of mushy and the chicken really didn’t taste like much. –Yellow curry: chicken was okay, the curry was mediocre. It came with a large portion of rice which is nice since a lot of places charge for rice. A small cucumber salad came on the side that added a nice crunch and something fresh to the meal. Atmosphere: overall felt like it could use a good cleaning but wasn’t horrible. Service: a woman stood at the front on the phone for a long time before acknowledging us. Many people made eye contact from the back of the restaurant and walked by us serving other tables workout saying a thing. Eventually we were seated and from there service was better. We ordered and didn’t see the waitress again. Towards the end of the meal a few young servers came by to fill our water and bring us to-go boxes. **There’s a tip guide on the bottom of the receipts. The first bill came and calculated the suggested tip off of the subtotal. The second receipt that came back with my credit card calculated the tip with the taxes and fees. It’s an issue with their system, not them trying to be shady. Even so, double check that you’re tipping on the correct amount.

If you are a small group of students or tourists(in the touristy Union Square area) that want a quick food fix, in a train-station lobby-hall type of place, even late in the evening, you can go there… it is not very good, and it is not cheap for what it is. It is like you pay for the weight, per grams, as portion are large, but not for the quality. At least, it is very often packed(why??? but why??), which can be considered as reassuring with regards to the freshness of the food. Poor curry items, and I forgot what else I ordered and did not finish neither. Conclusion: I should never ever follow friends in places, which I can guess from outside would be like that…

I’ve been here quite a few times primarily out of convenience. On those days that you’re shopping near Powell street and you don’t want to eat at the overproduce restaurants in the area — this is a great option for cheap, quick, yet satisfying food. I usually get the Thai boat noodles if I don’t do family style. Pretty big portions and very satisfying. The other night I came and ordered the pork pad kee mao, pineapple fried rice and the dinner size green curry. Green curry was just decent(2.75÷5) — very oily and it is pretty spicy! Not my favorite because of how watery and oily it is. Pork pad kee mao(3.5÷5) had great flavor but instead of sliced pork pieces they use minced pork. The minced pork is hard to pick up with the noodles and it’s not as cohesive with the dish. Pineapple fried rice(4⁄5) with chicken was my favorite. Great flavor, lots of meat and shrimp, and good portion. Would definitely recommend to share this one!

Quick service, mediocre food. I’ve been here a couple times, nothing memorable. Go a few blocks down and get some better Thai food. Maybe it’s the items I ordered, but the last experience really left a bad taste in my mouth… pun intended! Ordered: Chicken Noodle Soup $ 9.95 For $ 10, you get clear chicken broth, bits of white meat chicken, noodles, and bean sprouts. Flavorless. I wasn’t feeling well and didn’t bother walking a few blocks to a phở place and it just wasn’t what I expected. Very bland broth and chicken was over-cooked and rough. Not to mention it was a 20 minute wait for a take out… for SOUP! Everyone dining in was in and out FAST. I saw two tables, who sat down AFTER I ordered, get their food first. Huh?! Will I be back after so many choices around here? No.
