Therapy is all about finding the right fit with a therapist and with so many options in San Francisco, it’s hard to know who to go to, or what to look for in a therapist. With so many therapists claiming to do cognitive behavioral therapy these days, I’m always happy to know of ones that *actually* do CBT as it was designed. Dr. Werner has been extensively trained in ACT and CBT(former therapist at Stanford University before she went into private practice) and has experience with various disorders including anxiety and depression as well as the normal stuff(work, stress, relationships, etc.). Aside from being a very knowledgeable therapist, Dr. Werner is very kind, warm, and compassionate. Most importantly, I think Dr. Werner’s non-judgmental manner and validating personality is what sets her apart from many other therapists — you feel very comfortable with her. I would highly recommend checking Dr. Werner out — within just a few sessions, she will give you practical tools and skills to help you on start making the necessary changes in your life so that you can really thrive. Also, if you have the chance to attend any of her meditation retreats I would highly recommend it — it was a great experience whether you’re an experienced mediator or just beginning to explore mindfulness or meditation.
