On the most important day of your life, you would be better off employing almost any florist other than Kate. In early May, I attended a wedding where I saw her work first hand. The bridesmaids’ bouquets were falling apart before the post-ceremony pictures were shot. The table arrangements lacked substance and seemed clumsily assembled. It was planned as an outdoor wedding. However, a small storm rolling through blew away the rose petals because they were thrown long before the ceremony would have started. Additionally, the trellis that Kate provided was not fastened down so the wind blew it over. Perhaps the most striking part of Kate’s service was her lack of availability and involvement. When the decision was made to move the ceremony indoors, the DJ, musicians, photographers, and other personnel providing services quickly responded and helped salvage the beauty and joy of the big day… except Kate. She was already long gone from the site. When reached on her cell phone, she didn’t seem terribly concerned that her work was left undone. The groomsmen and family members were doing her work and carrying a wobbly trellis inside. Until that weekend, my fiancé and I had Kate contracted to do our wedding this August. As you might imagine, we terminated our contract immediately and have never felt better about forfeiting a deposit. Kate’s disappointing service and lack of recovery skills are what we will remember about her.
