Last time I came here was 2013 when I was still a student at CCSF!!!

The size is large enough to find a comfy spot to relax with a tea or coffee. The food is okay. The service wasbgreat. The art on the walls were great and they had a decent variety of coffee drinks. Overall I’d return to this spot if in the neighborhood.

Typical coffee shop, with a few options for food. A lot of space and an ok spot to do some studying. It’s pretty loud and has a lot of traffic, so if you’re not easily distracted, then this is a good place for you! I do not recommend the caramel frappé, it easily separated and was way too sweet. I’ve tried the white chocolate mocha and that was better.

The most expensive(old) salad and eggs you’ll eat $ 15. The one $ is misleading, should be $$. They actually put New green lettuce on top, and OLD iceberg lettuce on bottom, seriously? If it’s going to be that expensive then you can at least make it fresh. And I don’t think that is 2 eggs. Never again. I was very nice about it and didn’t ask for anything just let them know, they had a LOT of attitude and were very defensive, but offered to give me some $$, so that was cool at least.

Pretty good place to study — they have a very musical canary(I called them later and they were nice enough to answer my slightly strange questions of what kind of bird that was… without any business related questions in there…). Anyhow, good coffee, good snacks, wifi and power. All an MCAT’er needs. Thumbs up.

This is true mom and pop café. There owner works in the front to help run the place. Other reviewers complain about him being grumpy, but either they don’t understand cultural differences or they order without basic greetings to the person who is assembling your drinks and food. Someone saying, «Hi, how are you,» will get a response rather than, «I want a latte.» Seriously, try to think of others and their culture before you assume they’re being rude. The good: food, drinks, authenticity, and atmosphere(good music and there bird does chirp, but that’s what birds do). The bad: there’s a $ 4 card minimum, but you can just buy a delicious muffin or buy the coffee for the person behind you. This is not Starbucks or Peet’s, it’s a local SF coffee shop and if you don’t want to watch artists paint or take part in pre-techie SF then go to a chain.

Good place to study ONLYONWEEKDAYS! Weekends are packed. Most of the staff are really nice and chill except for the manager who kind of has an attitude(although, I suspect he’s a nice guy underneath the asshole demeanor). Café’s items are kind of overpriced(stick with the cheap stuff and BRINGCASH) but their coffee does the job of perking me up so, I can’t really complain about that. The café’s ambiance is cute and chill(caters to art people) with lots of couches and pillows, outlets, benches and tables, there’s even a little bird which adds a peaceful dimension. Even though this place isn’t perfect, all in all it’s one of my favorite spots on Ocean.

This café is great. The ambience is cozy and bright. I meet clients here and also come by with my little kids. I am here often, and I always feel welcome. The owner is not effusive and jolly, but he has an eye for detail and provides exceptional service. The food items are unusually good and a little bit different(falafel, quesadillas, bagel and lox etc.) This place is a gem!

I enjoy Java, growing up across from this joint it wasn’t always all that. It was always kinda grody looking but recently this place has really cleaned up their act. I really enjoyed studying here and the little bird they have in the little cage in the middle of the shop brings a some sort of vitality to the place. What I don’t love are the outrageous prices. $ 6.00 for a large green matcha latte and a $ 6.00 for a large soy latte, neither were that impressive for the price especially because it was so foamy that I might as well ordered a regular size and asked for no foam. Overall good place to study if you just get a house coffee, I would not recommend getting their«speciality» drinks because its a little overpriced for what it is.

I almost never write reviews, but this one is vital. The good: 1) The location 2) Variety of Dishes to eat 3) A lot of electrical outlets 4) The decoration The bad: 1) The manager is a complete douchebag – super rude, acts like you are doing him a favor by being there and purchasing from him – this alone is enough to give only one star 2) The coffee is actually pretty bad 3) The WIFI kept on dropping off, which is why I left 4) The benches and chairs have no padding, which made my butt hurt 5) There are birds in there that chirp and distract 6) The wifi code has to be hunted down 7) The drinks are«unbelievably» expensive. Mineral water was $ 5(I am not kidding) Basically: this guy has a good location and knows that people with inevitably come because of that. He price gauges people because people will pay. He doesnt care about customer service, at all. All he cares about is his bottom line. Every time you come here and spend your hard earned money, he gets richer and we continue to encourage his behavior. He needs to be humbled and brought to the realization, that you cannot price-gauge people and treat them like garbage. If he charged what he charged and was at least nice about it, that is a different story. He is bitter, cheap, ungrateful, selfish, rude and takes advantage of others. I cannot believe this man is still in business.

What’s up with the guy in the front he must have a bad attitude. I don’t think he wants to work here!!! He is great at acting deaf. Don’t ask any questions, it’s too many questions. Specially about what kind of roast he has today, too many questions! I ordered a turkey bagel with egg and cheese, I must of got Oscar Mayers, or invisible turkey. It’s also way over priced. Overall review: Service: SUCKS Quality: INVISIBLE Price: OVERPRICED

All true, the guy at the front is quite rude. We placed a large order and he told us to wrap it up and hurry. He cut us off after each item ordered to tell the clueless girls behind him what to make. The food was decent. We ordered avocado shakes. They were the worst I’ve ever had and also the most expensive. $ 7 cup of milk, honey with maybe a ¼ avocado. I am very disappointed at a place that deceivingly looks good.

Went to get some lunch with a good friend thinking the café looked cute and possibly in the same chain as the java beach café in the sunset(which we love!) but our experience was very negative. When I was waiting to order, the man behind the counter shouted at me «are you going to order or just stand there all day» I ordered a wrap and when I took the first bite I honestly wanted to throw up it was so gross. Hey you guys, I’m the friend mentioned above. All the reviews about the guy behind the counter are pretty much on par, he’s a smart-ass. So they have a deli style sandwich menu right? They are not deli sandwiches, they don’t have a selection of bread or cheese like you might expect. That’s not the problem I have though. I ordered a sandwich and I looked, I’m honest to God not a picky guy. The thing that irritates me was that the lettuce they put in my sandwich was the same lettuce they use for their salads. That’s means that my sandwich had salad dressing in it. I concluded that the workers there are lazy and mix up their ingredients when they don’t feel like making stuff for particular items on the menu, that shouldn’t translate to a $ 10 dollar sandwich. I got a bad feeling that this laziness indicates how the rest of the stuff they serve is prepared. This experience lead us to literally leave our food barely touched on the table and go somewhere else to eat. Point being, we do not suggest eating here.

The chai tea was good, and I got one grilled chicken Brest sandwich, that was yum. A cool place to hang out with friends but I don’t think it’s quite enough to study.

Really great laid back café. I ordered the egg and cheese on a croissant and a mocha blend. My friend ordered a turkey(bacon), egg, cheese, tomato, avocado on a croissant and a smoothie that was chai pineapple banana themed. We both were so HANGRY when we started eating we were amazed by how good Everything was. I loved the mocha blend. Cute little café on ocean and there was even a bird singing about his lazy Sunday struggle. The lemon poppy breads at the counter looked delicious.

The customer service and negative energy of the older male store clerk, possibly the owner, just destroyed our experience here. Was the coffee good? It was pretty good — but the stain of his negative demeanor was too overbearing that I cannot even focus on enjoying the coffee. It’s Christmas, Buddy. At least smile and engage with customers in a friendly, positive way; or go home and think about a more introvert-based career. Definitely won’t be coming back.

The person who was taking my order was kind of rude. He walked away to answer a phone call while he was in a middle of taking my coffee order. He came back very impatient and told me that he only accepted cash because the credit card system was down or something. C’mon«don’t act like this is my fault». I asked him what opinions of flavor syrup he had, he said«I don’t understand» and pretended not knowing how to speak English. Really?! May be it is just a bad day for me, may be for him but I definitely won’t come back. I forgot to mention that the large latte was $ 5.50 and it was just ok.

I mean I should have known. She told me romaine and spinach and three extra dollars for avocado. But whatever. It was worth a shot. This looks like an awesome study spot though! Free WiFi and lots of space. Couldn’t tell you about the coffee.

Yummmmm raspberry mocha! Only in here for coffee but i definitely want to stop by another time to try their breakfast burrito and morning specials and sandwiches. I also love how there are so many seats. Couches, benches, and chairs everywhere. Perfect for study, working or catching up with friends.

The next stop on my coffee shop excursion! I didn’t like this coffee shop on my first visit but figured I should give it another shot. The enjoyables: — Lots of table space with couch seating. — Probably okay for large groups(5 – 6 people) because there’s enough of open space. — REALLY enjoyable drip coffee, about $ 2.50 for a medium. I enjoyed it better than my vanilla latte because it seemed stronger and had more flavor. — HUGE variety of food: pastries, sandwiches, wraps, tamales, plus more! — My turkey, egg and cheese sandwich on an everything bagel was delicious. — Great location! Located off of the KT line and there’s also parking in the nearby residential area. The not as enjoyables; — The space is essentially a box so sound resonates pretty good. This started to give me a bit of a headache after awhile but I was also studying for 5 hours straight. — Prices aren’t always listed! I hate playing the guessing game with my wallet. — Medium Latte was about $ 4.50. The espresso wasn’t that strong and didn’t really have a creamy flavor. It tasted almost diluted. — No foam art and coffee was served in a disposable cup! So my latte didn’t taste great OR look pretty. The hard truth is that this is my number 2 coffee shop on the block. I prefer Fog Lifter for my study /working purposes but that doesn’t mean this isn’t a decent coffee shop. Because it is! Swing by and try their food menu and a drip. You’ll like it.
