Ok after 5 years of coming here. We still love our local. Kelly, Casey & the team are amazing. Always making you feel welcome. The food & wine selection are perfect.

In a word — balls. Sub-par service. They completely screwed up the order… one of the veals was completely under cooked and another over cooked. And veal was completely lacking in flavor. They couldn’t even clean the table between the main course and dessert… not acceptable.

Carb loading for him meant carb loading for me, sweet! There’s this weird rumor that people should avoid carbs. That it’s bad and unhealthy but I welcome it. I survive on it. I love it. This hidden gem was packed on a Friday night but luckily we had reservations. Zucchini Carpaccio– In writing, it sounded tasty. Visually, it was overwhelming and boring. Taste wise, it was delicious. I’m not sure how it was made but it had a nice roasted taste and the shaved parm with the almonds balanced out the dish. Very light and enjoyable. Spaghetti Carbonara– Per his request, this dish was a must. It did not disappoint. Very rich. It could’ve used more panchetta. then again we probably didn’t mix it well enough. There was a pile of panchetta at the bottom of the plate at which he decides to scoop it up with a spoon and airplane it in my mouth… yeah, that happened. Bombolotti– Pasta, meat, sauce. That simple but that good. Mix the mascarpone cheese well and take it from good to amazing. Slightly intoxicated, we had dessert elsewhere. Overall, great meal, great service.

I live in the neighborhood, and this is one of my go-to spots. The food and drinks are ALWAYS excellent and the service is TOPNOTCH. I’m a big fan of the tortellini. I’d eat it every day if I could.

Great little spot in the area for a nice dinner. The burrata salad was delicious! We came late on a sunday night and could easily get a table.

I can’t believe I’ve never dined here before. It’s been a Pac Heights favorite for years. It’s a tiny restaurant, so the place fills up quickly(and gets loud). If you’re looking for an intimate romantic date spot, you probably dine elsewhere. So why is the place so popular? Simple: the food is damn good. They’re not going to win any James Beard awards or anything like that. But everything on the menu is delicious. It’s like Italian comfort food. I ordered the Orecchiette d’Elefante(breaded chicken cutlets served over mixed greens, topped with red onions, gorgonzola, and marinated cherry tomatoes). Not exactly diet food, but it was certainly tasty food. My dining companions all ordered pasta dishes. The one that looked sinfully good/carb-a-licious was the Tortellini al Forno(meat filled tortellini with mushrooms, prosciutto & cream, and topped with mozzarella & parmesan cheeses). I also heard rave reviews about the Linguini Vongole(linguini with clams and garlic in a white wine sauce). For an appetizer, we split an order of Bruschetta(it was fine, although nothing memorable), and my seafood-loving friends indulged in the Fried Calamari with garlic aioli. Even though the place was packed, the service was on-point. There was never a long wait for our food or wine. Jackson Fillmore is definitely a smooth running machine. I now understand why it’s been such a neighborhood staple for so long. I’d definitely recommend this spot if you were looking to get your mangia mangia on.

This is one of our go-to restaurants and they consistently deliver great Italian for a good price. Definitely take a shot with any of the specials, but our usual ends up being pasta. I haven’t had a bad plate here to date. Also, they always have a really nice and affordable selection of Italian wines and can give great recommendations if you aren’t familiar. The entire staff is always friendly and even though it gets busy later in the week you can usually squeeze in without a reservation if you don’t mind waiting a half hour or so. Stop by, we’ll probably be at the counter drinking a glass of Nebbiolo.

this place makes me(and my husband) so happy, every time we go! it’s lowkey, friendly, and very neighborhood-y. if you have been waiting awhile, they will acknowledge that, which is always nice. great for date night or taking out of town guests. I try not to order the spicy snapper every time, but I always fail.

The zucchini salad is to die for. Gotta try it, simply put. All of their pasta dishes have been extremely satisfying as well. They are always served hot, and you can taste the freshness of the pasta and sauces. My favorite is the oven-baked ravioli. Super rich, but very rewarding, and it really fills you up, even though it looks like a small dish

Fantastic! I highly recommend the zucchini appetizer and calamari. Both were absolutely delicious with great flavor. I had the gnocchi which I thought was really tasty however the only thing that was a slight let down was the size of the gnocchi istself and the portion size. For 20 bucks I’d expect a more filling plate but the texture, taste and sauce was on point. Love this spot and had a great time here.

2.5 stars. Booked a reservation only to be told when we arrived that they don’t accept reservations for 2 people so we had to wait for an opening. The wait was over 20 mins after the reservation time & we ended up seated at the bar which isn’t easy to have a conversation because of the noise behind the bar & seated side by side. The complimentary bruschetta was still amazing & wish I could have 2. $ 13 Burrata and golden beets was good. A simple dish with good ingredients. $ 16.25 Bombolotti Sugo de Carne: Large pasta tubes w a tomato sauce of veal & spicy sausage, mushrooms & mascarpone cheese — sounds delish doesn’t it? It wasn’t. The only flavor was spicy red pepper from the sausage — overpowering. Had to request extra mascarpone cheese to tone down the heat. Complete disappointment.

Absolutely amazing. My boyfriend introduced me to this place. The bruschetta was the best I have ever had, clean fresh ingredients and just delicious. I had their gnocchi which was also the best I ever had. The light creamy tomato sauce was perfect for the soft pillowy gnocchi. I would definitely recommend this hidden gem.

This place seems to have it all: a cute, unpretentious location, a loyal following/reservations always full, and decent reviews. Don’t be fooled. Totally unimpressed with the food and especially the service. It’s almost like this place was caught in a time warp but didn’t save the good stuff. They saved the explosion of chopped parsley on everything and the spiderweb crème anglaise. The zabaione, which I love and you never see on menus anymore, comes in a glass looking like a small child threw up after eating a carton of Big Stick popsicles. The complimentary bruschetta was welcome surprise and their red sauce is tasty – it just isn’t enough. Not my bag, but they must be doing something right.

Their Spicy Spaghetti sauce is very well executed. It is thick and full body and there is just enough sauce to dip the bread in. I also loved their artichoke and mushroom salad. The mushroom was seared with a hint of balsamic. This restaurant is small, and if you have a large party you have to wait(reservation or not) but they did such a great job seating us despite our large party. I keep coming back anytime I am in the city.

Just back from the third visit to Trattoria. I had a salcicce special. I waited but not too long. Lots o happy people around Then it came it was beautiful to behold but nuclear in temperature, I mean I burnt not only my tongue but a splatter hit my hand and it hurt. I tried stirring cutting up the salecicce, no relief So I guess it sat and sat on the warming dock undelivered just getting nuked Got a doggy bag figuring it would evetually cool, no apologies during payment Maybe I’ll go back, but probably not…

I have not been here in about 8 years, I used to live a few blocks away, and if I had a hankering I just called them(Jack usually answered the phone) and had them put me on the list so I didn’t have to wait in the usual line. Fast forward to last night and my man had never been. Off we went, we called ahead and the same trick worked.(Jack was not there, too bad — he is a cutie). I ordered what was my old favorite, the zucchini carpaccio — I have tried to recreate this at home to no avail. I’m not sure if it is super healthy — but man is it good. Then the Tortellini al forno, so good, and the best zabaglione I have ever eaten for dessert — in fact have never seen it served warm anywhere else — even in Italy. Love love, the only downside is that glasses of wine are a bit steep($ 9-ish) for 1 appetizer, 3 glasses of chianti, 2 pastas and a dessert is was about $ 90 with tip

Been going here for years and the same formula still works. Usually come here as a party of two, and get the bruschetta, maybe some small appetizer to share with my gal, a small salad, a pasta dish and dessert with espresso. Appropriate comment– Gal and I have always commented that the staff are pretty good looking!
