Delicious, fresh, and cheap. Have been here a few times already and quality is consistent. I usually get the salted fish egg plant dish that comes with rice, soup, and milk tea for less than $ 10. I recommend the salted fish fried rice and spinach with beef and egg white. Once we got around 8 – 10 dishes and total cost was around $ 80. There were no leftovers.

I just so pissed off right now… I ordered through the phone, and I repeat two times to the cashier that the things I want. But still, he gave me the wrong items. I was like, what the… I would never come back.

Decided to try this place out after passing by it a several times, and it was a total disappointment. First impression that the waitresses gave me was awful. They were rude and unsanitary, one of them blew their nose at the counter and didn’t even bother washing her hands before going back to work. Anyhow, my friend and I ordered a seafood rice plate and a curry dish that was served to us in less than 10 minutes. And without a doubt, everything was frozen, the seafood dish was all watery and disgusting. The only good thing I had was the red bean ice, but asked the waitress to crush the ice for me and she said she couldn’t do that. Although my friend ordered a slushy??? Overall, will not recommend this place and will never come back here again.

Standard HK style café, minus the grilled items. Our table got a variety of things, from soups to noodles to fish and we enjoyed it all. I really recommend the cod and corn rice plate but that’s just my go-to at cafes and they did it very well here. I like that the food comes out really hot too, so it was perfect for the rainy, cold weather that was going on. Decent prices too, especially the combos that come with a coffee or milk tea.

One sentence to summarized: I can cook better food when I was a college freshman. Detail-wise: I decided to order a white sauce seafood rice(or something like that in Chinese) in the baked dish part of the menu. It was out really quick — then I realize what I got wasn’t baked, but hey, maybe I misread something. Maybe it is just fried rice with sauce… But god, the taste! It is a lump of rice dumped under a lump of white sauce and seafood clearly from the fridge. The rice? It still have the sort of burned piece you would find at the bottom of rice cookers — and it is not good, restaurant quality rice either. The sauce is tasteless. The seafood and the vegetable? The fish is soft and mushy with no taste. The vegetable are pretty much raw — this is not a Western restaurant, and this is not a salad. If it is a white sauce, restaurant cooked it to soft and tenderness, especially if it is something in a bakeware. But here? It is like they just roughly chop the vegetable and then throw it in. No effort at all! The only thing good was the milk tea.

This is a place where a coworker and I have discovered as a good lunch place not too far from the workplace. We like ordering from the 11am-5pm menu special where we select an entrée and it comes with a choice of coffee or milk tea(we like choosing the latter) for $ 7-something before tax. Not a bad deal. The last two times I’ve come I ordered their ma po tofu and really like how they do it here. The staff is overall nice and friendly. For a HK-style café I’d say the service here is much better than most similar such places, which is another plus.

For lunch and dinner, I think 2546 has finally found a decent chef and finally has some good food. Could not say that 1 year ago or even a couple months ago after their remodel. Although prices are a slightly leaning on expensive for HK Style food, baked rice and spaghetti dishes now come with milk tea. Finally had a memorable meal… stir fry prawns with vegetables, tofu with beef, baked mushroom chicken with spaghetti. Food was fresh, piping hot, and delicious. Tables were clean, service… well, what can you expect at these types of chinese cafes. Came a few times already, and food is consistently good. For FINALLY stepping up their game after so many years of mediocrity, I award them 4 stars.

Order to go chicken wings and fries($ 4.75) Just two small pieces of wings and 10 tiny thin oily potato fries. They charged me extra for hot milk tea $ 3 instead $ 1.75 in the menu. Wait for 30 min. Taste are nothing special better taste doing at home. Overpriced, bad service and not tasty.

I like their lunch set. Price is reasonable. There are a list of dishes you can choose, and it comes with rice, a drink, and soup of the day. Satff are friendly too!

8. Ham & Egg Omelette, Hash Browns and Toast with Butter. The Hong Kong style milk tea came with the meal. Today is my second time coming in for breakfast and the food is delicious. 2546 Café is certainly one of the best restaurants to visit for breakfast, lunch or dinner. I like that they have Happy Hour Specials, the food is delicious and affordable. All in all, good food and pricing plus facility cleanliness is bound to keep regulars coming often. I am certainly coming back again!

This place is so silly, but SOCHEAP. We came for breakfast after Martin L picked me up from the airport. We didn’t want to wait in line at Breakfast At Tiffany’s. We probably should have… You know when you wake up and there’s no real food at home so you throw items together and call it breakfast? That’s this place. For $ 5 someone will throw items together for you.(eg. spam, white toast, scrambled eggs)

we went to eat lunch today, I saw the receipt, they charged us extra 25%. so horrible. SANFRANCISCO sales tax should be only 8.75%, right?I wont go there again

Not sure if I was eating pepper or ants on my bland«spaghetti». Here’s a tip– don’t eat near the bar counter or the bench, bugs galore. Portions are small also– if you want Chinese food, the $ 1-$ 2 Chinese food takeout next to metro pcs is better.

I never really had a problem with this place, except for it being a bit pricy. but then this time they charged 15% of service tax. and the serving wasn’t even big enough for it to cost that much. the place wasn’t exactly clean either because there were ants crawling near our food.

I second that zero star review if I can give that rating! Once again after that fake grand opening everyone including the waitress claiming that there’s a new owner the bad service and terrible food stay on as usual. I haven’t set foot in this joint for like 2 yrs and the bad attitude of the staff makes me want to run. But still I gave it yet another try. ooops big mistake. Food still sucks and yes they got the order wrong. I want wonton noodle soup not just soup. And of course they over charge us and not give us the compliment milk tea like I ask. I don’t want to argue and have to make a scene. No more coming back to this place; its is dead to me. I rather eat cup noodle then come here again. All the problems I have before are still here remaining.

Honest — server told the table next to me that someone dropped a lucky New Year’s red envelope with money. Then my mom left her cell phone, and they called one of her contacts to let us know they found the phone. It was just a cheap flip phone, but saved us some trouble. Much appreciated. 5⁄5 Ox tail red wine dish for about $ 13 was decent, the best dish out of our meal. Tangy, reasonable portion, carrots tender, beef could have been a little more tender, but flavors were on point. Peking spareribs my grandma liked because she thought they were tasty and she liked the amount of sauce coating them. I found the dish a tad sweet. But still decent. Salt and pepper beef spareribs were too salty, avoid this. Salted fish chicken eggplant dish was only so-so, forgettable. Next time I will try one of their whole chicken dishes, those seemed like a generous portion and fresh. Overall food 3⁄5 — but probably one of the best places on this street. They have two pages of dishes where you can pick three dishes for $ 24 plus the cost of rice. The dishes were all reasonably portioned. Price 4⁄5 Service was fine for a Chinese place. Plus as I said, I really appreciated their honesty. 5⁄5 Cash only.

The milk tea is the best I’ve tasted in california! It tasted like the genuine, crushed ice, old-school street café style cheap but original milk tea I used to drink when I was little. Didn’t know they were actually available in the states!

Took my boyfriends parents here(since his parents wanted to eat here). This restaurant reminds me of a phở/jollibee. LOL. Walking to the café I felt like I was in China Town. The food comes out pretty quick, service is OK, food is OK, price is reasonable. I got the eggplant salted fish with rice and I think I ate a fish bone. I also tried the pork-chop which tasted good and the Thai noodles which was decent. Would I come back here again? Maybe not, unless I had too.

Juts had a quick lunch here. Despite it being around 4 o’ clock, there was a good amount of people inside already, but getting a seat wasn’t that hard. We were right on time for the happy hour menu, but alas, there wasn’t any options that included something with a hearty side of rice. On to the other menu, I suppose. We settles on a plate of black pepper beef and spaghetti with an iced coffee(The hot version comes free, but the cold/iced version cost a buck extra) and the pork chop with rice. The iced coffee was a bit too sweet for me and tasted a lot like milk tea. They must have spiked the milk or something. Our food arrived and they looked great! Pork chop with onions and rice — The size took us by surprise. Luckily, we didn’t order anything else other than the spaghetti because I doubt we’ll be able to finish it. If you’ve ever had salt and pepper pork chops, imagine that along with a sweet and salty gravy on top. It was decent and the pork chop stayed relatively crisp throughout. Black pepper beef with spaghetti — The portion was spot on for the price and tasted alright. You taste more of the veggies that come with it like bell peppers, onion and bean sprouts, but that’s to be expected in Chinese restaurant noodle dishes. The bill came out to be $ 15.77 which isn’t bad for lunch for two. We were relatively full and left satisfied. Service was rather quick, but the waitress there could smile a bit more. She just gave the entire restaurant a really bad vibe. The male waiter on the other hand was very attentive. I’ll be coming back for a quick lunch seeing as the dinner menu is always raising in price.

This place is close to my house. Parking can always be a challenge but I usually grab my food to go so its not all that bad. Beware of the meter maids though! I’ve eaten here about 4 or 5 times. The food is always quick, super hot and very flavorful. The only things is that they only take cash. It is a typical Asian café. I’ll be back!

A decent café restaurant with good food and ambiance in this area! I was walking around and I couldn’t find a good restaurant to grab a light snack before dinner until I stumbled pass this place! The area does not have a lot of good dining restaurants, but luckily I found this one! I like how they have happy hours for food and complimentary milk tea with your orders! A good place to chill at in this area!
