Okay, so I actually work here as a part of the MYEEP(helping kids get jobs) program, and it’s pretty close to my house. It’s not one of those fancy office buildings with carpeted floors and stuff but it’s a nice place that offers senior services and opportunities for youth to get a good job experience. There’s also a clinic in the back and an afterschool program, but you’ll need to get used to the loud screaming of the children. There’s also a nice library and dry cleaners across the street. :)

I love this center. I remember and honor Mr. Bookman. He was a long-time member of Pilgrim UCC. He was a tire-less community organizer and motivator. The lot where this center sits used to be a very talk and menacing victorian perched on a rock fortress. No joke. It housed Pilgrim’s Sunday School. My Mother was the Sunday School teacher for many years. She raised 6 of us in this church. Man I remember playing in the holy water at age 3 or 4. I remember the Easter Egg Hunts. Present day I am full of memories. My brother is President of the Center. My brother was inspired by Mr. Bookman. Carl is just as tireless. Every Year my family of about 75+ has our Holiday party here. Holiday because we are all of different faiths or no faiths. They have a full kitchen. One can rent the center for birthday parties, receptions, lunches, conferences etc. They sponsor Food pantrys and health clinics. There are separate events for Senior Citizens, Teens/Adolescents Children At Risk. The center offers a wealth of services. Please utilize this jewel.
