I never write bad reviews– Mainly because I check out Unilocal first, but unfortunately an Ikon printer was already in place when I started working for my company. The laundry list of complaints is far too long for me to list in it’s entirety(feel free to Unilocal me if you really want to know all the gruesome details) but basically, they are completely shady! COMPLETELY!!! Back in January 2009 my rep decided to switch out our copier since the one we had was breaking down almost everyday. I was already having issues with them(and the rep) so I made a point to let him know that I was not interested in getting a new copier if it was going to extend our contract. He said it wouldn’t and even wrote those exact words on the fax transmittal her sent me. Flash forward to the present time when my contract was suppose to be up and of course, he is no longer with the company and they are telling me that the contract was extended. I showed them the 15 or more emails I had from the rep stating that the contract was up in May as well as the fax transmittal. After talking to 4 or more people Art finally said that he would call me the follow week to set up the time to remove the machine. Of course, that was last week and I never heard a peep from him. I have since sent two emails and left a voice mail and he has dropped off the face of the Earth. It’s soooooo freaking frustrating. Not to mention, that is just a smidgen of the crap that went on. Really! It would blow your mind if I told you everything. totally unprofessional. Jack asses!

Ikon is the big name in copier leases. Thing is, copier leases suck. Do you need the latest copier like you need the latest status car? I gave Ikon a chance, and let them give me their spiel – a five-year contract for $ 400+/month for five years. As the guy told me, «I’m giving you my rock-bottom price. We’re not making money off of this contract, but we’d like to have you as a customer.» Um, no thanks. Horrible. I ended up going with a local outfit for $ 300/month, with a month-to-month lease. Much better, but still not the best way to go. More in another review.

They are usually reliable on getting jobs turned around on time. Howver, they have made a few errors on copy jobs — including not copying several files which I would never have noticed if I hadn’t audited the work. Very disappointed in that.
