I ordered hot and sour soup, vegetarian chow mein, and szchechan chicken. Sorry if I spelled that wrong, but that is not the point. Ordering on the phone wasn’t too much of a hassle. It was pretty easy to do. When I arrived to pick my food up, I was surprised that during lunch time it was completely empty. The two people sitting in the front were on their phones. But this isn’t super important right? I took the food back to our office. My colleague enjoyed her food, but didn’t like the hot and sour soup too much. I ordered a side of steamed rice. Not too hard along with my chicken right? As I began to eat I noticed a LARGE piece of hair in my food. Gross. I’m grossed out thinking about it. It hasn’tleft my mind yet. Every time I go to eat I think of that hair… Anyways I gave them a call about returning my money. I had a hard time explaining to one of the girls what was happening, but I was able to speak with Lina. She was very nice and helped. She was able to give me a cash refund for my meal. I appreciate the good customer service. But, I won’t be back. Scarred for life…

Crisp vegetables in a sweet and sour sauce, perfectly grilled beef, and spicy prawns are just a few reasons to check this place out. Clean, comfortable, friendly are a few more reasons. Menu a little sparse, but everything we ordered disappeared into our tummies.

Like a nicer Panda Express, but more expensive. Service is adequate. The food is fresh but again, on par with Chinese take-out or fast food. Their«lunch specials» are ~$ 12 with soup(meh), salad(good), entrée(meh). Unless you have a strong craving for Chinese take-out style fried meat: pass.

Very average. Small portions of duck. The steak is definitely not wagyu but I guess neither us or the restaurant really believed that it would be for $ 20. Steak was over done, we were not asked how we wanted the steak. The dipping sauce for the steak was essentially watered down soy sauce. No steak knives even when asked. Essentially tried to use a butter knife to try to cut meat.

1/The décor is really poor and it looks more like a fastfood than like a Chinese restaurant. 2/The woman taking the orders and serving food(probably the owner) was very unfriendly. 3/She even tried to cheat us, thinking we were visiting from another country. Shame on her! She had already included the tip in the total, and yet, there was an extra line for tip. It happened to me only one other time, in a very touristic area of NYC. I wouldn’t recommend this place: cold, unfriendly and people cheat you.

TL;DR — Pretty much the only decent tasting Chinese food in the South Beach neighborhood. Price is slightly high for Chinese food, but the portions are generous and the food is actually good. Personally, I think it’s worth it. Garlic noodles are pretty good. As other people have mentioned, they are very buttery so kep that in mind. The truffled roast duck is DELICIOUS. I’m a huge fan of roast duck, and this may be the best duck I’ve ever had. If not the best, then definitely top 3. If you even remotely like duck, I beg you to try the duck here. You won’t be disappointed. Usually roast duck at Chinese restaurants still have the bone in it. I honestly don’t mind that most of the time. However this place takes out the bones, and the result is amazing. Juicy delicious duck without a bone getting in your way. Order it takeout, and the whole thing comes swimming in a few millimeters of duck juice, which tastes delicious poured over rice. The duck is $ 20, which is a little bit pricey given the portion. However it’s so damn good that I don’t mind at all. I’ve found my new«treat myself» meal. We also got Chicken with Asparagus which was pretty good. Both chicken and asparagus were rather juicy and didn’t taste completely Americanized. Got the potstickers, but for me they were just okay. I’d probably pass it those next time. Would reorder everything else though!

Absolutely delicious! Our meal started with fried home made noodles that were fun to pull apart. The homemade potstickers were very flavorful and the sauce was great. I had the beef and garlic noodles which was the best meal of the night. Melt in your mouth goodness. The duck and salad was very tasty and delicious. The Mongolian beef and garlic noodles were also flavorful. Needless to say there was no leftovers. Service was very attentive and she kept our waters full the entire meal. Great food — great service. We will be back

The garlic noodle with salmon and the supposed shrimp pad thai were actually good. except the pad thai had ZERO shrimp in it and the garlic noodle with salmon was not what we had ordered. but they were good. I don’t know what was going on with them on a saturday night but I have never experienced service this bad. I would give it 1 star but it’s so bad that it’s actually turned into a funny experience. At first, it was annoying since we have a concert to go to. Then, I started to feel bad for the server/cashier as she was the only one managing 12 – 15 tables. I would like to commend her for working her __off though. I don’t know the whole situation as to why it was so disorganized but if they were already experiencing delays in the kitchen or whatever, they should have advised the customers that there is a problem in the first place so people who have other things to attend to can decide whether they are willing to wait or not, instead of trying to accomodate everyone and telling everyone their food is coming. We were there for an hour and the food I have mentioned earlier were the only items that came out and as I have said, one of them was not even ours(which we realized after we had already touched the food, we had ordered some other fish on the menu). And so after being there for some time, we had asked to just cancel the other items we had ordered because we had to leave. Considering the food was good and this place has received some good reviews from other people, I would be open to giving this place another chance.

Nom NoM NOM: Good service, nice interior, only Asian place in the area, huge portions Blah Blah Blah: High prices for what it is which was just ok food Never tried little Giant but Hot Plate is good enough if your craving Chinese/asian fusion food and don’t want to travel outside of Mission Bay. I had high hopes for this place especially because I love their Shabu place next door, but despite the nice interior and great customer service the food is still nothing to rave about, especially with prices being so high. Maybe they should transform this place again into an asian bbq grill place! Food is about 3.5 stars but I bump it to 4 because of the service and also 20% opening discount for takeout.

After its disastrous start as Little Giant, I wanted this place to be good. I finally had a chance to give it a try, and, alas, it was not good. Takeout lunch order was $ 12 plus tax, and I got a very sad-looking General’s Chicken with plain rice. Nothing else, other than the obligatory packet of soy sauce and some hot sauce. The breading on the chicken was mushy, and it was slathered with a thick sauce that just didn’t taste quite right — a few slivers of green onion, zucchini(?) and jalapenos(I guess this must have been the«fusion» part). Edible, but not any better than the microwave version in the grocery freezer. If the owners are reading this — please, please, please, drop the«fusion» nonsense and just sell some decent Chinese food at a reasonable price. There’s only one other Chinese restaurant within a half-mile radius, and their food is far better and only costs $ 8 for a lunch plate. If you just sold me a Panda Express-quality lunch for under $ 10, I would come once a week.

I ordered pork chop with sauce and walnut prawns and it was really tasty. Portions were huge and I got 20% off for take out so the price was definitely justified. Customer service gets 5 stars. The lady(owner?) was super nice and funny and she even gave us free dessert(coffee jello). I will be back for more, for sure!

Great asian fusion food. Big portions. I ordered to go so I can’t remark on the service but the staff were very kind and offered me water when I was waiting outside with my dog. I ordered the shrimp pad thai. The flavor was on par(above average) with good pad thais I’ve had before. The sauce was perfect. The shrimp, though, could be fresher. It might be because I came at 8:30pm. Overall, I would definitely come back!
