I love paying $ 14 for fake Hennessy shots on an empty Friday… Who doesn’t love E&J? Dyke bartenders were chill tho and the door man seemed chill, music was good. Be careful when you’re splurging for the hoes they put fake stuff in their bottles!

Went here for an event with a bunch of friends. Great music and awesome dance floor. Danced the night away to a good combination of edm and hip hop jams. Also, great VIP lounge upstairs. Obviously have to know peeps or have copious amounts of money to get up there but is a great time no doubt. Recommend it

African American Women are not allowed!!! This lounge is down the street from my job so I thought I’d give it a try. WORSTDECISIONEVER this establishment held us in Line for 45+ minutes! The security finally let us to the door and the cover fee was somehow different for everyone. I watched as groups of women of other races walked to the front and entered with no hassle. I had a friend(who is afghan) already in the establishment waiting for us. He was allowed out and back in for no charge!!! However my African American friend and I were told that it was 40 $ + to enter! That makes it clear to me that this establishment is prejudice! This had to have been the most unfortunate experience for me! I will never spend my money where they would treat different people so poorly! DONOTWASTEYOURMONEYWITHPREJUDICEESTABLISHMENTS. I fell victim to this behavior and it is UNACCEPTABLE. I will be looking to higher management for an explanation

How many people does it take to operate a club door? I don’t think harlot has figured out the golden ratio yet. The most unorganized nightclub front door I’ve ever seen. We arrived at around 11pm and waited in line for nearly 45 minutes. Security kept screaming that everyone needed to get in line but kept letting people in who bum rushed the front of the line where the entry was before letting the people who were actually following instructions and waiting in line inside! They offered an online promotion that allowed the guestlist to be free all night, and while waiting inline we were told we had to pay 40 dollars because it was after 11. I’ve had a much easier times attending clubs in Vegas on fight weekends. The crowd was ghetto! We never made it in, ended up going to another place I suggest you do the same!

Thank you, doorman, for noticing that I took off my coat to show you that I put some effort into my outfit and for letting me in for free even though the four girls behind me each had to pay $ 20. Also, thank you, random guy, for hitting on my friend and for buying me drinks as well since she pretty much forced you to. Those two men made my evening fun and inexpensive. Harlot is a stone’s throw away from my place and I’m glad I finally got to check it out. Even though the space is not that big, it was also not overly crowded. The music was alright and the dancers wore cute black lingerie. I did not like the creepy looking guys standing alone against the wall grabbing my arm and other parts of me as I was walking toward the bar. No, I don’t want to dance with you.

Came here last SAturday with a friend from out of town — neither of us had ever been. Arrived around 11:15 and were greeted at the door and told that we were being given VIP access. VIP access basically meant that we could go to the upstairs bar and lounge area as well as the downstairs area. We came in and they were blasting 90s and early 2000s hip hop, as well as top 40s and classic Bay hits. They had dancers alongside some of the walls in burlesque wear, dancing alongside the beat. The place was also extremely packed. All in all, a pretty good time. The drinks were expensive(I bought two cocktails for $ 23) but after several shots, the bartender gave us free drink tickets. Despite the expensive drinks, would definitely come again because the music selection was that good.

First off what an establishment. I always enjoy myself when I come here! Sometimes a little too much. Take a few weeks ago for example. I had had a bit too much fun(or to drink) and when I left I left without my purse and wallet. Woke up and thought all hope was lost! Went through the motions of canceling my cards and getting new ones and was about to go to the San Francisco DMV, where dreams go to die btw, to get a replacement ID when an angel who runs the coat check named Calle messaged me. Calle if you’re reading this, truly I love you. You saved me!!! She went above and beyond and reached out to me on Facebook and I hit the floor when I read her message. Literal, I rolled on the ground in relief and pure joy. Thank you so much to everyone at Harlot for not only housing my drunk self but for reuniting me with my belongings. I’m elated, can you tell? :)

L.O.V.E. this venue absolutely my favorite venue in sf. Completely different from the rest, super sexy with an intimate and upscale touch, rich & authentic both in events and in décor. I love coming here; staff is always welcoming, friendly — we had a table at the last event we attended, Angela was amazing throughout the night. She was, as the club, sexy but genuine and approachable. We were never looking around for her, she was attentive and professional from the moment we met to ‘goodbye’. I can’t say enough about her she met and exceeded expectations — we will definitely be coming back and asking to work with her again. Many thanks to Angela and Harlot staff for making great memories for & with us.

We checked in online and when we arrived at gate at 10pm, 30 min before free entry they turned us down. This is total scam. We have 10 people signed up separately. Everyone booked 2 weeks in advance. This is total scam club. A V O I D !!!

Harlot gets one star for overcharging my credit card $ 32.00. Check your credit card statements. It really ruins my experience when I see this happen because I can’t help but think it was intentional.

Where do I begin? We came for the NYE party. There was a group of six of us(1:1 ratio male to female, and our first time here), and I feel pretty stupid for even having to mention that. To be honest, I was slightly fearful that we wouldn’t even be able to get in considering the horror story reviews I have read here on Unilocal about racism and getting turned away even if you’ve bought a ticket(and I say this as a black patron who also bought a ticket for this event). To my delight, there was no problem getting in and the wait was like 2 minutes. Coat check was right there and it was $ 5(for NYE the price got jacked up by $ 1). It says that they’re not responsible for lost or stolen items which I think is silly considering we’re paying you to watch over our items? Why am I paying then if I’m not guaranteed my item will still be there under your possession? There’s also an ATM and a smoke room which was the only place besides the VIP tables that you could sit. No sitting room? So you want more girls in the club, who are probably wearing heels, but can’t accommodate if we wanna sit and rest our feet? Boo! Dance floor is the size of my living room and I think no dance floor should be the size of a living room unless you live in a mansion. In other words, it’s small. The crowd consisted mostly of older people(mid 30s, some 20-somethings sprinkled in the crowd). Furthermore, no one barely danced. Most of them just stood there in a circle thinking they looked cool. Like, get off the dance flooring you’re not gonna dance! But, I can’t blame them because the music was a little dry. I felt like I was at a cheap EDM concert, not a club. Who actually plays Taylor Swift in a club? I couldn’t take the DJ seriously after that. Not that Taylor Swift is bad, just not something you dance to in a club? Totally unexpected. As each song came on, the worse it got. The DJ dropped the beats all wrong and mixed certain parts of the song that didn’t make sense. It made for an awkward set list. At one point the music got so bad that I went from actual dancing to just head nodding, and that’s when I knew it was time to go. I mean If the DJ can’t keep you dancing… Bar service was quick but terribly over priced($ 12 for a watered down amaretto sour). No thanks. NYE décor was Dollar Tree sale bin special. Balloon drop was cute until all the crazies started popping them in people’s faces and to top the night off, there was an altercation between two drunkards on the dance floor! Overall it seemed to be an average experience but something was missing; probably better music and a more diverse crowd. Leaving, walking by all the clubs, it seemed every other club we walked past was 10 times more lit than Harlot. Just saying. Most exciting part of New Years was getting a bacon wrapped hot dog on the way back to the car from one of those street food cart ladies that you always see at large or popular events.

I’ve been to Harlot plenty of times and many clubs around the world. Last night would be the last time I’d step foot in this joke of a club. If you want to have your drink ripped out of your hand without warning by security and not even having the decency to ask like a normal human being, then you would enjoy this dump. Even the pathetic bouncer whose job is to man the restrooms lacks intelligence hence his sole duty to watch patrons as they enter and exit the restrooms. Since when did leaving your drinks unattended on a table with a complete stranger before you’re granted permission to enter the restrooms a policy? It’s like asking to get roofied! To top that off, it’s a complete sausage fest in this club and none of the guys are even remotely good looking! Skip this club entirely, but if your are looking for a horrible time than this is the place for you!

This is a usual hot spot for my coworkers and I during happy hour. We come here pretty regularly on Fridays mostly. There aren’t really huge happy hour deals here that come to mind as the reason we come here so there must be other reasons why. There are. The place is located in an alleyway so you might miss it walking down the street. We usually come here around 5pm or so after work and the place is pretty empty. So in that regard there is plenty of room and plenty of space to get drinks. In addition the bathrooms are clean and there is air conditioning everywhere. It makes it difficult to get warm and uncomfortable when they blast the AC. Fine by me. I guess personally it’s a great place to come with a lot of people, not have to wait in lines for drinks. Decent price and comfortable atmosphere. I enjoy this for HH. I don’t have any other experience with it’s night life.

This place is trash. Would give negative stars if possible. Went for a Halloween party last weekend. Waited at the bar with my fiancé for 20 minutes before she was able to order us two drinks. We paid with drink tickets we had purchased in advance of the event. I went back later to the same bartender and ordered the same drinks. He tried to tell me I couldn’t order those same drinks with drink tickets, and that I needed to pay. Instead of giving me the tickets back so I could find out what she wanted, instead, he took the drinks and stole the tickets. Curly blonde haired douchebag.

Great DJ and most of the staff were really nice. However, the service at the bar was terrible and cocky. I was annoyed because the bartender had looked over me multiple times to serve somebody that had just arrived when I had been there for quite some time. I never called him out, but I did step in front of another person who had just gotten to the bar that he was about to serve. I am also a bartender and, as a bartender, you should always be aware of what’s going on at your bar. This includes keeping an eye on every person who is currently waiting at the bar, at least let each of them know that they have been seen, and last but not least, be fair and serve everyone in a timely manner. Other than that, it was fun even though the bartender(Curly, blonde-haired douchebag) had the audacity to get wordy with me when I stepped in front to be noticed. Have fun, everyone!

Had a table reservation on October 17 for my Birthday Party. Carla was very accommodating via back and forth emails and I loved the space we got upstairs. But VERYDISAPPOINTEDINTHESERVICE! I mean there was No service what so ever!!! We spent a lot of money for the table minimum. The waitress name Martina brought the bottles, pour shots for my guests ONCE and after we didn’t see her. I had to serve my guests by making drinks! And later on everyone had to make their own drinks, shots… I am sorry, but isn’t the waitress supposed to do it? I’ve had table reservations before, in different places, I do know how it works. Never had such a horrible service!!! Why did we tip her? I was trying to reach the management since, but couldn’t get a hold of no one. That’s why this bad experience review is here!

Discrimination-I tried to go to a special event at this location sponsored by über. Myself and my wife both of color were not allowed entry due to improper attire while white patrons who were wearing the same improper attire that I was wearing and were affiliated with the promoter, über, were allowed in. When i asked to speak to the manager the bouncer told me to leave and that the manager was busy. This is unacceptable behavior for a business to play favorites based on color.

It has been a hot minute since I’ve been here. Returned to Harlot after about 5 – 6 years since my last visit? I think that my last visit was also for a birthday celebration(or a post Fillmore Jazz Festival stumble … I don’t recall). 4 stars for the really nice bouncers, but 3 stars for the actual music and vibe. The drinks were a-ok. Someone with the birthday girl of our group actually ordered bottle service, which was a great touch. The sparklers were cute and Independence Day-ish, but I was partly afraid that they were going to set something on fire(aaaaaaahhh!!!) I tried to get my dance-on, but just wasn’t feeling the resident DJ Cobra(sorry). Eclectic music, which had some good moments, but just couldn’t bring me to the floor. A+ on the female go-go dancers, playing on the theme of HARLOTs. Very provocative and entertaining diversion for the music, which was eh.

I dug this place! And I’m pretty picky when it comes to my nightlife excursions. I saw Jack Beats spin a sick set here, and the venue had a really cool modern gothic/victorian ambiance, with a very intimate vibe that was very cool to see a DJ spin at. I’m not sure if I would go there just in any given night to party, but I think on a normal night when an unknown was there it would be a great place to host after work drinks, or take an interest to before the night dies down.

When I am in the Bay Area I always like to check out different Nightlife for the 21+ crowd. My local friends decided to sign us up for the guest-list which was free for women before 10:30 pm. Upon arriving, there were no lines but check in to the guest list was easy and had no problem getting in. The drinks were pretty strong and the dj was spinning 90’s-current hip hop. Don’t get me wrong i loved the drinks and the music. I would recommend this to start your night off if you decide to club/bar hop in downtown SF. However, it was just a weird and different vibe for me. Maybe its just the people they promote to go there is just… i dont know how to describe it. Maybe just not really my idea of «fun». Dance floor was a small and the crowd is aimed for the older, lounge experience. Recommended for: 30+ age group, like to lounge or bottle service, upscale attire.

I attended two small mixers here. Harlot is perfect for hosting networking events, but I can’t imagine wanting to come here on any other night. When this place gets packed, it’s nearly impossible to move around unless people are nice enough to let you through. When you first walk in, there is a small window for coat check that is easy to miss, and it’s stricly for coats. There is a side room for smoking, which is nice I guess. There are booths that line the wall opposite of the bar which is perfect for networking events. There is an upstairs VIP type area that I’m not sure how to access, but this adds a little more space to the cramped downstairs floor. Everyone who works here seems pretty chill but the vibe of course is defined by the crowd that Harlot attracts. Hit or miss, I suppose. I would definitely book this place for a private event(though it seems a little shabby) but not come here for a regular night on the town.

Good DJs, but the whole ticket thing can be weird. Will call guest list last minute? Maybe that’s normal. The lower stars are for the«special occasion» non-smoking area that is suddenly smoking friendly??? Wtf?

In a town hardly known for great nightclubs, Harlot holds the distinction of being the worst. Despite having a young, affluent and cool population, San Francisco lags far behind most cities of it’s caliber of nightlife. If a nightclub is supposed to be full of attractive, young, cool people who can dance, with a balance between men and women, then San Francisco is a tough. But, most of those reasons for why this is the case are most exquisitely demonstrated in Harlot. Firstly, Harlot is a total dump. I would imagine that the place is a serious cash cow, none of it has been reinvested in the club itself. The entire place has a cheap, dated feeling that tries to cover the poverty of the surroundings with low light. The VIP area provides some respite from the overcrowded bar area and dance floor, but it provides no direct access to the dance floor. Service is reasonably good, but nothing special, as it’s the worst club in San Francisco. The bathrooms are disgusting, and poorly maintained throughout the night.(There’s staff there, so I think that’s a problem of management.) The prices are as expensive as any club in the city. The crowd is overwhelmingly single males, without any sense of style. At Origin, they’d be denied at the door. The ratio is probably 60% single males dressed in dress shirts, jeans and loafers. It’s mostly guys who work in tech, who clearly have just gotten off work, who believe that the best way to attract a girl is to apparently hang out on the edges of the very crowded dance floor, creepily dancing by themselves and avoiding eye contact with anyone. It’s the sort of look that suicide bombers must have when they’re attempting to blend in at a nightclub as they move to the center. There are a lot of fights and tense encounters. Most of the guys are harmless, but what makes Harlot special is that there’s a frustrated thirstiness to the crowd that gets worse and worse as the night progresses as the decidedly unsexy crowd and atmosphere prevents any kind of romantic encounters. While virtually every club in San Francisco is full of this type, Harlot actually seems to be more prone to fights and rude behavior than any other club I’ve been to. I’ve seen fights break out here virtually every time I’ve been there. Virtually every time I’ve been to Harlot, I’ve seen some guy freaking out on a girl. It’s a bizarre atmosphere after midnight. Security is fairly light handed, so it’s a good place to check yourself. After around 1am, the place can get pretty tense as most the guys in the club realize that they’re not going to meet anyone that night(and their best hope is likely to be an arranged marriage) and tensions flare. Convenient to mass transit, though.

A teensy wit disappointed, but the DJ made up for it. Yay for for having Elephante for free, however Nay for having drinks close to $ 14. For a very low-key and small club/lounge drinks were extremely over-priced. For a little asian girl, two redbull-vodkas were 28 with tip. I thought I was in Vegas for a second. It it a little hard to find since its on a small street. Look for a sketchy alley with small crowds. I would come back if they have someone special spinning, but not something I would venture to on a weekend.

Maybe Harlot has lost some fans but when we went here on a Friday night there was no line(we got there early) but I had a great time. So much for my «I don’t go clubbing anymore» mantra. I liked that there is rock star parking in a non sketchy neighborhood. I liked that the layout wasn’t a maze and it was easy to locate the bathrooms and coat check. What I didn’t like was that the go-go dancers in dominatrix outfits looked absolutely bored out of their skull and didn’t even try to look like they were having a good time dancing on the mini stages on the side of the club. What a downer! The DJs were playing some deep house and I wish I could have gotten into the music more but they finally managed to play some hip hop so we could dance a little bit. I may be a few years late to finally show up at Harlot, but I wouldn’t mind going again one of these days.
