I love Jewel’s work, her calm demeanor, her candor, and her gentle hands. Her work always makes me feel great when I leave the salon — I never regret the cost, or the effort I go to (I live in Martinez) to see her — I’m sure there are plenty of very talented and interesting hair cutters closer to home, but when you have short hair it’s a bit of risky business to be at the mercy of a stranger, not to mention that I think of Jewel as a friend, and that’s important!
Jewel is skilled, sensible, LISTENS to the customer, and cares about the outcome of her effort. More than that I cannot ask!

Jewel is wonderful! Very talented and an overall lovely person. I always get compliments on cuts and highlights, I don’t have to wait weeks for an appointment, and she’s more affordable (and better) than other salons I’ve tried in SF. I’ve been going to her for about 4 years now and recommend her highly.

Jewel is terrific. I’ve been going to her for a year and I love how she cuts my hair. I also love that the cut lasts. She’s also an exceptionally talented stylist. She did my hair for my wedding and for my mothers, sisters, aunts, grandmothers and brides maids. I literally received compliments all night long about how pretty my hair was. Additionally, all my ladies were very happy with their hair dos. I love Jewel’s talent and I also love her demeanor.

I’ve been coming here since my former hairdresser, God rest his soul, died unexpectedly and tragically at far too young an age of a never-​saw-​it-​coming heart attack. The woman I see, Jewel, was formerly with my former hairdresser, who was trained at Sassoon in London, and he told me she was a really outstanding cutter — and he was so right. She’s extraordinarily talented with the scissors, and is able to manage my hair with no difficulty at all, which is a minor miracle. I’ll be here so long as she is, and I hope t long long time — she’s amazingly talented, she’s a total sweetheart and she just — she gets it totally.

This is a top salon! The only one I ever go to, and I travel from Santa Cruz to do so. I have been going to one of the owners for over 20 years, I wouldn’t go to anyone else. Kudos, from a very loyal customer!
