The problem is I’m not sure if they can cook korean food. This is NOT the traditional Korean BBQ place that I had hoped. Instead, I found a restaurant trying to do too many untraditional Korean dishes & doing it badly! We had a traditional Tofu soup, Kim Chee Mix, japchae and beef bbq. The BBQ were grilled & they poured a sauce over it! How awful was that!!! The Japchae was even bad. The only dish that was good was the Kim Chee Appetizer! We tried it. We know never to come back.

I come here knowing this restaurants three star rate, but since there is no other korean restaurants around, so I pick this one. It turns out the food is very hot and yummy! The girl who service us is very nice and sincere, I am very happy with this place and feel its unfair that people only give it three s tars.

I don’t write as many reviews as I should considering how much I use Unilocal but today I have to. We have been in San Francisco for three days and have visited a few different places to eat and Hahn’ Hibachi is by far the best!!! Food was full of flavor and fresh. The Kim chi was the best I have ever had! And the service was great. I have honestly been a little upset because for some reason we have come across some really rude people here in SF. In this place the waiter was really nice and polite. I highly recommend it if you want good Korean food and really decent service!

My partner and I have gone here at least once a week for years, and generally get the same thing every time. For $ 10.95 you can’t beat the huge portion of BBQ chicken(a boneless dark meat«filet») with rice/gravy and veggies. When you throw in the free appetizer fried pancake and pickled veggies, this is a yummy deal! Can’t speak for much else here, we had the fried shrimp appetizer once, it was pretty good, but I doubt we would get it again. The service is always good, even when they are very busy. Sure, its not fancy but its clean, and they serve a consistent product at a reasonable price. Not many other places like that in this neighborhood.

Tonight’s experience was along the lines of a place on their way out. Food was ok but sadly slow & poor service. Manager told us the beer taps were broken & offered us a bottled Korean beer. It came in a plastic bottle & tasted like Natural Ice. We tried it without complaint. They then charged us for a ‘premium draft pitcher’ but would not show us the beer list with a price per bottle. Grasping at straws. Food isn’t worth the dishonest spirit of the poor service.

The food here is great! Came here a few times before. This time, i got seafood tofu soup and it was delicious! The rice and banchan came in a bento box which was really cute. The service here is exceptional. Got extra kimchi and bean sprouts.

Ordered the vegetable, glass noodle and beef dish. Very little beef. Walls were quite dirty. All was unremarkable

Food was ok but way too pricey. Nice atmosphere but, I was a bit disappointed overall. Didn’t get enough rice and when I ordered more I was charged $ 2. Beef was very thin slices and tasted better than it looked. Not especially impressed and probably will opt out of returning. In all fairness, If I had not been charged for the rice, I would not be writing this post. Oh, also when I wanted more rice and we hadn’t been checked on for a while, I raised my hand for service and the man who brought my food(possibly the owner or cook maybe?) just kind of looked at me like he didn’t understand what I wanted, then disappeared. He was very nice though when he initially brought us our food.

Not terrible but not really Korean. No Ban Chan with the meal. Strange sauces with no gochujang seasoning.

Food is pretty good here. Chicken is super tender and portions are big. I ordered the BBQ chicken. Wasn’t exactly«BBQ» but the restaurant’s interpretation of the dish. It was tasty. Service is friendly. Atmosphere fine. Simple.

Going to Hahn’s in Noe Vally is always s treat. The restaurant is small seating under 50 people but the atmosphere is cozy and tasteful. The food is in the tradition of Korean BBQ with its interplay between sour sweet and spicy notes that work well with the smoky grilled items. Of note are the BBQ chicken and beef spare ribs. The chicken is moist and tender served with kimchi, rice and picketed veg. The same can be said for the ribs which are braised to absolutely perfect tenderness and served with a wonderful sour sweet glaze that really brings out the flavor of the meat. Coming here on a drizzly SF evening is a must. The service is punctual and attentive. A definite staple in my restaurant list.

Decent spot. This place won’t blow you away — the rolls are ok, and the other food is decent. The price point is pretty good, the service is ok, and the atmosphere is limited.

We were visiting San Fran and my daughter begged for Hibachi. Benihana was booked till late so we found a listing for Hahns Hibachi and Korean Restaurant. When we pulled up we thought it looked like a order over the counter place and almost left. Luckily we didn’t! First it is not hibachi really. As the owner explained«hibachi just means grilled» so as long as you don’t expect fancy cooking at a cook top in front of you, you’re ok! The food has mainly Korean characteristics from their«steak» being a short rib with bones to the whole rest of the non hibachi menu being Korean choices. All of us 2 adults and 4 picky kids(16 – 8 years old) loved it. The potstickers were delicious with a nice sauce too. It’s unique and definitely felt like a local place. Most entrees were priced $ 10-$ 16 for large portions. Highly recommended.

Some things NEVER change. I’ve eaten at their Irving location a few times… but a very long time ago. Food = mediocre. We tried the Kimchi appetizer, which was a trio of cabbage, cucumber and radish. Cabbage was mushy, but cucumber and radish were good. Sorry but I loathe their kimchi(cabbage), especially since it was mushy and it was missing something. I just stopped trying to eat kimchi after the first bite. I tried their Chopchae with beef. Noodles with sliced beef, side of rice and some kimchi. Noodles were okay but they tasted burnt. His Beboppin’ Bibimbop was okay. BBQ chicken with crunchy carrots, cooked spinach, fried egg, kimchi, and radish. Mix with the gochujang sauce. He enjoyed the BBQ chicken. Ironically, the best food they had there was the complimentary fried pancake that they served you when you first sat down. Simple vegetable pancake, which was super thin and piping hot.(They also served this vegetable salad-like dish, too.) Service = meh. She didn’t take our order correctly… I said beef, and she repeated pork. When his Bibimbop came out. it was dolsot bibimbop, which was not the one he wanted. Prices = moderate. Location = good area. Street parking nearby. Décor = simple, bright, clean. I’ve tried this local chain several times now, and it continues to disappoint me. :(

I wouldn’t consider this a hibachi. More correctly titled hibatchi style Korean bbq. The kitchen is kinda in the open but not really. Usually people looking for a hibachi are looking for the experience. It’s a cute quiet place. Expensive. No chopsticks. Our plates all came at different times. Not exactly the greatest service. She never checked back on us. Never asked if we needed anything. I sat with an empty cup for more than half my meal. Then sat there waiting for a straw. We were ignored majority of the time. The food was pretty good. Will I go back? Probably not

My friend put it this way«They said they use mama’s recipe, but didn’t tell us mama’s recipe was bad.» I have been to the location on Polk, and decided it wasn’t a bad place to grab some Korean food. However, I came here last weekend and had the most unsatisfying Korean food ever. Is this place too Americanized for the sake of Noe Valley? Friend and I ordered the Bulgogi and BBQ Pork. They both came out on a plate with rice, kimchi, bean sprouts and cucumber kimchi. I’d like to have my Korean dishes the traditional way in which the rice is in a bowl, and side dishes on the side. A little disappointing, but I was okay with it. Moreover, the food is actually pretty disappointing. Bulgogi: very chewy big pieces of beef, tastes nothing like the traditional bulgogi. BBQ Pork: better than the bulgogi we ordered, but had a very minimal taste. below mediocre. I would give 4 stars for the service though. However, I wouldn’t be coming back.

This place is great! There are several great vegetarian options, the plates are very plentiful and yummy. Love the chopchae(glass noodles), the free appetizer, and the veggie tempura!!!

This place was ok. I mistakenly ordered the tofu soup and probably should’ve ordered the BBQ beef like I did before. The tofu soup was very bland and consisted of 85% egg(how many eggs did they put in that darn soup?) with small bits and pieces of tofu that were hard to find. It was more like egg soup! My date had Bibimbop which was only OK for him too, and he usually thinks everything is «delicious». The atmosphere is nice and clean and the server was attentive.

Great, hearty Korean food at reasonable prices; my friend and I ordered chapchae and clay pot bi bim bop, and they were delicious, as were two complimentary appetizers(mini pancakes and a salad of sorts) that came with dinner. This place is a hidden gem of sorts; we had had trouble finding a decent-looking, quiet place to have dinner that didn’t have a long line. I loved that it was quiet and we were seated right away on a Tuesday night at 7:45 p.m. I also found the service satisfactory. We requested some alterations to an order(e.g., beef on the side), and the waitress was quick to accommodate, and even though we dawdled to nearly closing time, they never hurried us out or made us feel unwelcome. I’ll definitely be back!

Pleasantly surprised by the dolsot bibimbop. I was hesitant to check out Hahn’s but was quite pleased after I finally did. I went for lunch and had the tofu dolsot bibimbop and it was almost great. So, good not great. It was a huge portion, and I left satisfied. Service was a little slow, which was weird considering I was there when there weren’t a lot of people.
