Ordered the Bibimbap. AMAZING. So delicious and for such a great price. The other listings on the menu were not that impressive to be honest but the incredible Bibimbap is what warrants the five stars. Also, the lady who usually works here is the absolute sweetest. Affordable, great service and great food! Will definitely add Hahn’s to my list of regulars.

Hahn’s Hibachi is a great place. A friend called in on behalf of his wife to confirm the non-use of MSG, and she loved eating here. The quality is good and pricing is nice, especially if you do the under $ 10 specials, which seems to be the best way to go. The big specials(i.e. Meat Mountain”, «Double Rib» etc.)are higher priced and portions are big, but in one breath not that much bigger considering the price tag, but also a lot bigger for one average sized person to indulge in eating without taking leftovers. It’s not your traditional Korean BBQ per se, but is really good and better service than most Korean restaurants with the«ajumma» lack of customer service. Here at Hahn’s it’s friendly and service with a smile! The salad dressing is great tasting as an FYI. The sauces they use aren’t overly sweet nor salty and almost are a gravy like Asian glaze that’s not too thick nor watery either, so blends in perfectly with the rice. I’m from SF originally and went to Hahn’s(other location) in the 80’s-90’s, and it’s the type of place I have nostalgia for and when I visit SF it’s a great destination point to eat at. I always qualify a good restaurant with the rhetorical question… «If I were ever to move out of the city it’s located in, and were ever to return to that city, would I make a special trip and point to return to visit that restaurant?» — — the answer here is obviously«YES» — — it has unique flavor and a good dining experience that is unique, not easily replicated in So Cal or even within SF n’ The Bay. I forgot how good it was and is… in one of those«you don’t realize what you had, ’til it’s gone» type of deals… so coming back and revisiting the culinary delights, I’m upgrading my previous review rating here too. Parking can be challenging on Irving, but the adjacent streets, if you’re willing to walk a few blocks can be easy if you have good SF street smarts n’ parking karma.

We stopped in for lunch yesterday, and it was very good. I had the spicy beef bbq plate, and May had the rib combo. 3 huge ribs on a big plate. We both enjoyed the meal, the meat was cooked just right. We’ll be back

Not into super sweet meat, but if that’s your thing this is right for you. Can see a reason why people love this place. Get to go order if you can to avoid the long wait.

I have been here a few times, and each time is amazing. Most recently, I ordered the bibimbap, which I had only had from food trucks before. I wasn’t sure how to deal with the sizzling pot. The woman serving us noticed that it was my ‘first time’ and showed me how to stir the bowl until it stops sizzling. She was so welcoming and helpful, and even brought us some kimchi cabbage to try, which i fell in love with. This is now our go-to spot in the neighborhood to eat when we want something that tastes fresh and healthy. I didn’t know they had multiple locations until I came to write this review. It really feels like a friendly, cozy, family-owned establishment.

I’ve been getting food from here since it opened up a million years ago. I’ve seen it go through a couple of different hands too Prices have gone up, and portions have gotten slightly smaller. But they have expanded the menu. I don’t exactly think of it as Korean though, more a certain degree of Asian fusion now since they are serving tempura and stuff. My favorite dish is the chop chae. I’ve had this at other places but Hahn’s chop chae is so tasty with lots of little bits of vegetables in there. I like the cellophane noodles too since I have a problem with wheat. This past time we got the Meat Mountain, which wasn’t as mountainous as it was before(only 1 beef rib, 1 pork rib, 2 real thin chicken filets) but it’s still tasty – and we probably don’t need so much meat anyway. I wish they’d do something like give you some kim chi with each meal, or some one of those other pickled Korean vegetables. Wish they had an item that was just«assorted pickled Korean vegetables» ’cause those are so damn good but i don’t want to have to buy a whole jar of each of the stuff, nor do I want to have to go to a real Korean place to eat them(since I tend to want to take off my shoes and socks and get real comfortable when I eat).

I don’t get this place nor how it avgs 3.5 stars. Korean-esque food, at best, under a Japaese-ish name. No ban chan, no kimchi(unless you pay extra). Food is really Westernized, kind of how you’d get it at a Hawaiian style venue, but without the macaroni salad. The food was edible, not gross or anything. But I can’t say that I’ll be coming back, at least not if I want korean food. There are far better spots within 100ft, or better Korean food @ 10th ave.

TL;DR no free appetizers that traditionally come with a Korean meal, and hot pot bibimbap rice was too wet to be good I fell in love with bibimbap when I was at Berkeley and ate their hot pot special every Wednesday. That’s my gold standard; most places fall short. I had some excitement for this place because it seems family owned and they are Korean. The price was promising at $ 10.50 for the hot pot. Service was fine, what you expect at any Asian family owned restaurant. I was disappointed there were no appetizers, like bean sprouts, kimchee, cucumbers, etc. I wasn’t offered any tea either. The hot pot bibimbap came out and it was sizzling as promised. Unfortunately the rice was quite wet – maybe they put in too much water today. But because it was wet, it didn’t mix well and didn’t harden too easily. The ingredients were fine, broccoli instead of spinach was a curious choice. I got it with beef and there was an average portion. I harp on the lack of appetizers because I like to eat the cold dishes with the bi bim bap to even out the hot taste. As you’re supposed to with this dish. Overall quite an average place, won’t be returning. Still haven’t found a good bi bim bap place on inner sunset(the Korean place down the street on Irving is not good for bi bim bap either, tho at least there they gave appetizers) but hope this review helped you decide.

I have been to the location on Polk street more times than I care to admit… I figured I would give this location a shot since I was in the area and I was pleasantly surprised. The food was great as usual and the service was better than the polk st location.

I’ve eaten here off and on for many years, and it’s just gotten worse and worse. The lunch I had the other day was pathetic. I got the spicy grilled chicken combo, and it was unbelievably bad. The shrimp tempura were laughable, they were so skinny it seemed like they split one shrimp lengthwise to make two pencil dick shrimps out of it, then used TONS of batter so that you’re eating just fried batter. The potstickers had never seen a pot, they were deep-fried and misnamed, and the chicken sauce was so thick and goopy, with a sickly sweet spicy flavor that I swear it was 50% corn syrup, 50% Sriracha. It gummed up my mouth pretty quickly, and I couldn’t finish the chicken. It used to be decent, and maybe this was an off day, but it certainly put me off Hahn’s.

Best Korean BBQ place I have been to in the city. Fast, efficient service from a kind woman server who seems to be there all the time and they cook everything fresh when you order. Affordable, tasty and a chill vibe. Definitely will be back again!

I’ve gone here twice now and have been totally and completely happy each time. Small and quaint little place, with nice kitchen staff and servers. The bibimbop is wonderful but I felt like it could’ve used a bit more meat and kick to it(lacked some of the robust Korean flavor & spice I am used to). Nonetheless, with a bit of their table chili sauce, it was delicious and worthwhile. They also serve dinner combos, which I find is their best value, providing a large plate of rice, your choice of bbq meat, potstickers, or shrimp/veggie tempura.

The customer service was excellent. The waitress was very attentive and quick. The ambiance is very quaint and small, very simple place. The portions were good. I got the dinner option #1, and when receiving the plate it looked like too much food but in actuality, the portions were fantastic. It was also great to have six different things on my plate to have different options. The reason why I’m rating this three stars is for the taste. The food is mediocre at best, the chicken was really thin and somewhat dry. The shrimp tempura was good, as was the salad. But again, the flavors weren’t all there. For the price, I would go back for a quick bite and it was on my way somewhere.

I picked up some takeout at this place one night before working a late shift at work. It was convenient, so that put it on my radar. I placed the order for a bibimbop and then walked next door for a bubble tea while the food was prepared. The service was good and it didn’t take very long. The food was pretty good, but I wouldn’t say it was super flavorful or anything. Average to below average considering how delicious it can be. I would go back because it’s close, but I’d probably try out some of the neighboring places first.

I went there after a job interview at UCSF. It’s a quaint Korean BBQ restaurant but food is not very good but a lot of selections. I had the bi bin bop– a lot of veggies, raw egg and sukiyaki beef but lacked of flavor(bland). It was meh. cleanliness and ambience is 5 food is 1.5

I used to love Hahn’s Hibachi. Key word here is USEDTO. Now, it’s repulsive. The service is great, but the food is less than par. Foremost, I’m Korean. When I order the tofu soup in a mainstream spot like Hahn’s, I don’t expect for the flavor to be on point. It should come close to it, but it wasn’t even close. I had to ask for seasonings to make it taste better, but they didn’t have the main ingredient for the soup base when I asked for it. Shocking. My husband ordered the spicy pork. It was disgusting. Korean BBQ pork is not supposed to have teriyaki sauce on it. Don’t get me started on their grotesque version of teriyaki sauce. It was slimy, the coloring was atrocious, and looked nasty when the waiter brought it to our table. Did they switch owners? I couldn’t help but to think they did because the quality and style was so different from the many times I visited before. It was always my go-to spot when I was in SF. Not anymore.

Solid lunch option. Good value lunch special — big portions. Wish the«spicy» dishes were spicy. Place is a little boring looking and run down.

Tiny with wafts of Korean BBQ essence inviting you in — Hahn’s Hibachi is a neighborhood spot brimming with personality. I came in here for the first time tonight and from the moment I walked in — the staff were unbelievably generous with their smiles and warmth. The menu here is actually quite extensive and there’s something for everyone if you look hard enough(I had eaten previously so stuck to some steamed vegetables). From hot tofu soup, to BBQ salmon and beef, to potstickers, to fried mushrooms, to combination rice plates — there’s an array of options at Hahn’s Hibachi. The staff are also more than willing to make adaptations depending on your eating preferences. There was a steady stream of regulars that stopped in whether for pick-up orders or casual meals — throughout my time here. The staff welcomed each person with genuine gusto. If you want a filling meal with some tasty protein — whether it’s tofu or meat — Hahn’s Habachi is a reasonably priced option in the Inner Sunset. Trust.
