Everything is delicious here! The salads, the pasta, and definitely the pizza… all fantastic! The service is also wonderful. A warm and friendly neighborhood favorite.

The actual restaurant is a very small facility. Tables are kinda packed end to end so it’s a little hard not to disturb the people around you when getting up or sitting down. The actual atmosphere inside is very nice. The food itself was pretty great. We ordered the Atomica and Four Cheese pies. The tomatoes and mushrooms on the Atomica were superb. The four cheese was similarly very good, all the cheeses were great, the crust was nice and crisp. One thing to note is that the pizzas are made thin crust style, which is something some people like but others absolutely hate. So your mileage may wary as far as the pizzas go. The waiting staff was very nice and fast. They do seem to have a lot of waiters considering the size of place which is always welcome. Another reviewer talked about how they were efficient to get you out of the door. I didn’t really experience this, in fact I had quite the opposite experience. The group sitting next to us lingered long after finishing their food and their waiter even nicely told them no rush.

I must have gone to them on an off day. I MUSTHAVERIGHT!!! I have had this place bookmarked for months and have heard great things about Gialini. I finally got to try it last night and boy was I disappointed. I got the Atomica, because I am obsessed with pizzas with eggs on it. The pizza was SooOOoOoooOO soggy and greasy. The flavors were flat and I think I was expecting MUCH more. The Purgatory at Pizzeria Delfina beats this one in all aspects. The salad — arugula with nectarines and pistachios was quite delish though. I would not come back here. I can’t risk it breaking my heart again.

Pretty much the most snobbish, worst service I’ve ever encountered. I ordered take out twice, tipped 15% on both instances, and not once did they were thoroughly dismissive or absentminded about my order. Further, in both instances, they don’t bother to pack napkins or cutlery. They just hand you the pizza box and wait for you to tip on the receipt. The first time this occurred, I thought it was a rough day for the servers. But when the poor treatment came the second time I ordered, I felt like an idiot for coming back here. It’s as if staff knows there’s enough of a crowd to eat here, and so they know they can be curt without any risk.

Random search on nearby pizza places led us to Gialinia for dinner. We got here around 5pm and there were already a couple folks sitting inside, with tons of to go’s stacking up. Mostly pies and four other pizza options. We tried the veggie asparagus pie, and the Yukon potato bacon pie. The meat one was significantly tastier than the asparagus. In fact, the asparagus was super lemony and really lacked flavor. The bacon was delicious, slices of potatoes and salty crunchy bacon slices. Would not recommend the asparagus though. The crust is nice and crunchy, thin slices, two pizzas are good for a party of three. We also ordered the avocado and beets salad which was also surprisingly bland. It was one whole haas(probably) avocado split apart, with some chili powder sprinkled on the avocado that really taste like anything other than adding color. and a vinegertte on the beets was good, but because avocados itself really has no flavor, I was expecting more of a punch. Overall, nice small joint, lots of deliveries. Would probably be in the 4 – 5 star range if the majority of the things we ordered was better than it looked.

Love this neighborhood pizza place. Friendly service and awesome pizza. I always save room for dessert, Mitchell’s ice cream. If there’s a line outside, it moves quickly, and the food is worth the wait.

We came on a cold Thursday night. Parking was a cinch and we were seated immediately. We ordered the Margherita, the Atomica(tomatoes, mushrooms, chilies, red onions, and mozzarella), and the Pesto with braised chard, black olives, ricotta, and ricotta salata. It was a rare event, but all of us liked all the pizzas! The crust was perfect and super thin, the ingredients fresh. The place was about three fourths full, and felt laid-back. The servers were efficient but not frenzied, and we lingered long after we paid the bill. We will definitely be back, and if the menu is similar, we’d probably try the four cheese and the other vegetarian options– it seems like you really can’t make a bad choice here.

This was a good choice, but I have a feeling it’s as popular as it is because of the location– close to BART and along a cute strip of restaurants and cafes. They quoted us a 10 – 15 minute wait for a table of 4. It ended up being closer to 5 minutes, which I only knew because the host came out while my husband(who usually refuses to wait longer than 10 minutes) had walked down the street to scout the status at another restaurant. He let us sit down when I explained our 4th was just checking at another place but that I’d call to have him come back. It took a little while to get our order in(the waiter explained«everyone finished at the same time, and the next round all arrived at the same time»), but it meant we knew everything we wanted to order. Pizza texture: good. Crispy, but not scraping the inside of my mouth, and doughy enough to hold its shape. Pizza flavor: Salty. We ordered the one that comes with the egg. The salt is probably my bad for picking something with bacon on it, but it almost seemed like there was extra salt added to it. Everything else: –Carrots with yogurt appetizer: good. Interesting menu item. Felt more like a side, but still tasty. –Meatballs: kid seemed to like them a lot. –Wine: ordered a carafe, wasn’t disappointed. A bit pricey to be served in casual glasses, but comparable to other restaurants. They’re the kind of place where I’d expect(and drink) a «House Red/White» carafe for, say, $ 12 – 15. I think ours was $ 22. –Service: friendly and, for the most part, swift. –Tiramisu dessert: meh. Ladyfingers were too mushy– if they used them at all– but the flavors were OK.

Wow, I can see why this place is so popular! They have a nice range of options for pizzas… there really isn’t anything fancy or crazy about the ingredients, it’s more about the quality of the items and the simplicity of making something taste so great. We started off with the Arugula/Goat Cheese/Beets Salad, which was fresh and very good. We then had the Four Cheese Pizza, which was great… rich and decadent. We finished the meal with the Nutella Pizza with dollops of mascarpone cheese — this was also very good. We came here early on a Saturday night when the weather was horrible and we were seated in about 5 minutes. I know this place is very popular, so plan ahead!

This place is just a block away from the Glen park Bart station. So convenient location! You can’t get seated till you party is all there as a tip. We ordered a amatriciani and added an egg on it and it was just delicious. It’s thin crust and the sausage just taste really good. I’d highly recommend it. the other must order for dessert is the hazelnut pizza. At first it just looks likes partially bakers pizza dough with Nutella on top, but it’s just amazing. The place is a bit pricey($ 20 for a pretty slim pizza) so I don’t know if I’d go there again, but maybe, since it was so good!

nice crust, bubbly type, high temp with char and excellent ingredient combos. sometimes a little too crispy(drier), but recommend the portobello mushroom w/onions, thyme, preserved lemon, fontina & arugula, they didn’t over do this one. Amatriciana– tomato, pancetta(thick style), chilies(light), farm egg(perfect) & pecorino(nice) also quite excellent but more crispy(overly so). Little Meatballs w/tomato sauce & aged provolone, homemade but not bursting in flavor.

Such excellent and inventive pizzas. Normally not a fan of thin crust but these pizzas are great! Could use a better wine selection per glass/carafe but overall will be back!

Some unexpected cash enabled me to try something new so this place was it. Called in and ordered the Atomica w/egg, the italian, and the Moroccan lamb pizzas. Patrons inside were«hipster types», vibe was good, worker at counter was nice. Order was ready when I came and on time and still hot when I got home. I love a good pizza and these 3 I ordered were very good and very fresh. You could tell it was quality ingredients in this food. The Moroccan lamb with the Greek yogurt sauce was awesome, very awesome. ATOMIC was awesome. Try it with an egg and thank me later. The Italian was very tasty with good sausage on top. The perfect blend of toppings and dough. Paid almost $ 57 for 3 personal pizzas but that’s what you get with quality over quantity. So give it a try. But don’t if your a scrooge with money.

Arrived at 4:45pm, doors opened at 5pm to a rush of 15 people, the place was full by 5:18pm. At the recommendation of the reviews we tried the Meatballs, but were not impressed. We had 3 different pies, Atomica, Wild Nettles, and 4 cheese. All were very tasty, except the 4 cheese has pecorino cheese, which I now know is something I now know I will never have again. While the wine choices were extremely reasonable in price the 6oz glass size wasn’t, so we’d recommend pass on the option(go for the bottle, if you really enjoy it). We drove a hour to get here and think we’ll forage locally next time for fresh thin crust pizza.

I came here with my bf after work and we were starving! We ended up ordering what everyone else did– Amatriciana and added an egg and sausage. It didn’t take TOO long, but the total was 20 dollars for the whole pizza. I love thin crusted pizza which was great about this, but for 20 dollars, thats a lot of pizza elsewhere. The egg was fabulous, and the sausage was definitely worth it. For dessert we got the nutella pizza. It came out looking like SHOOT, did we just order chocolate pizza, I don’t want to eat it. But it was definitely a good choice. I dont particularly crave it now, but it was definitely something you should try at least once. It was topped with a crunch which made it great. There was also this white thing on top we were like. what is it. turns out it was mascropone cheese which was delicate and great! We only ate 2 of 4 slices– its pretty big, and ended up taking home the rest– Mind you– do not microwave for too long, it becomes a puddle of oil. Parking– beyond difficult, take bart to glen park, or bus, or walk honey. Overall– great service, pretty fast. The only thing is that they won’t seat you unless your whole party comes.

Cozy but classy little pizza shop tucked away in Glen Park! There’s no sign for this place, so you’ll have to keep an eye out. My roomie and I split the Atomica with added sausage(crucial touch) and it was the perfect amount for 2 petite Asian girls. Really solid gourmet brick-oven pizza with fresh ingredients. My only complaint would be that the center of the pizza gets kind of soggy, making it difficult to take the first bite, but after that, perfecto. SAVEROOMFORDESSERTHERE. I literally wanted to get everything on the dessert menu, seriously pick anything and you won’t regret it. My roomie and I got the pistachio chocolate cake and the persimmon cheesecake and shared. The cake could use a little more pistachio, and the skin on the persimmon should have been removed, but what creative flavor profiles to combine in a dessert. Winner winner chicken dinner. The overall menu here is pretty unique too, especially the seasonal special pizza they have on rotation. I definitely want to try some of their starters next time I’m here, particularly the cured meat and cheese plate. Go-to pizza place near my neighborhood, check.

It’s good pizza — really good crust. But a bit too thin on the sauce and cheese for my taste. We also got a pie with proscuitto on it, and it tasted too«ripe» — it didn’t add to the pizza. Good thing there is plenty of red pepper flakes and grated cheese on the tables as the pizza needed a little more ooph. We also ordered the chicken breast with polenta. this was quite good. The chicken breast was very tender– it had an almost ham-like texture. The chicken breast had to be brined as it was very tasty. The polenta was also good. The salads across the board are plentiful(enough to share with 4 people) and very fresh and tasty. A good, but not great, neighborhood find.

What a cute neighborhood spot. We came here around 7:30 in the middle of the week and there were luckily a few open tables. We weren’t sure if this was a seat-yourself or order at the counter in the back or what. There was no one at the front to greet people coming in, but someone flagged us down and told us to sit wherever we wanted. Our server was really friendly and didn’t mind us taking forever to decide what we should order. For starters, we got the burrata with pistachio salsa verde, chili oil and flatbread. I highly recommend getting this as an appetizer. The salsa verde and chili with the burrata was a great combination. Also, I would never think to do flatbread with buratta, usually it’s a crostini, but this worked well. This could have easily served four, but two of us had no problem finishing this. For pizza, we got the Italian with sausage, tomato, peppers, onions and provolone. This had the perfect amount of spiciness and was absolutely delicious. We noticed that they put real shredded parmesan cheese on the table. That’s the first time I had seen that and it was a nice little touch. Since we ate so much buratta, we couldn’t finish the pizza, but looked forward to some amazing leftovers. Overall, friendly waiters, quick service, and decent pricing at a local gem. The meatballs and portobello pizza are next up on my list here.

I love this pizza! My favorite part is the crispy but easy to chew crust. Atomic pizza and added crispy pancetta. Creative salad. Never had ripe persimmon with pistachio before. Mmmmmm… Yum!

Ordered the meatballs and the atomica pizza. They were both AMAZING. The meatballs has a little kick to them but they seasoned perfectly and cooked just right. Wish it came with a little bit of bread to soak up the sauce but I just used the pizza crust. The atomica pizza is mushrooms, chili, and onion pizza. The ingredients tasted fresh and the crust was the best I’ve had in a long time. Definitely will be recommending this place to my friends.

This pizza is pretty delicious — a solid 4.5 stars. We originally wanted to do take out, but trying to reach them by phone is pretty difficult(they only seemed to have 1 line, which was always busy). We arrived at around 7PM on a saturday, and we were seated pretty quickly at the bar(a 3 person bar, which worked out since we were 3 people). We ordered: 1. Heirloom tomato pizza: this pizza was by far the most delicious of the pizzas we ordered. The arugula on the pizza gave it a bit of a bite, which was nice, and the bacon gave it the added bit of saltiness all pizzas need. The heirloom tomatoes are amazingly delicious. 5⁄5. 2. Amatriciani: delicious pizza topped with a very fresh egg. This one has the most delicious slice(meaning, if I can only eat 1 slice, I would eat a slice of this pizza), but the spice and saltiness can be a little much. The pizza is cut such that the center piece is a square with the egg yolk delicately sitting on top — very delicious. 4.5÷5. 3. Miss Figgy: very good pizza that other people in my party enjoyed more than I did. It has a very distinct fig flavor, so it was different from the other pizzas we ordered. I thought that the pizza was too sweet for me, but does serve as a nice change of pace. 4⁄5 Overall, this place is 4.5 stars, but the crust was a bit overdone for me, so I can only give it 4 stars. Regardless, very delicious and a must try!

3.5 Stars Parking — is difficult(suggest you take public transit or walk if you are nearby) We decided to share the below for dinner Amatriciana– tomato, pancetta, chilies, a farm egg & pecorino* $ 18 — definitely agree it was too salty, the heat definitely came through Sunchokes w/nduja & truffled pecorino $ 17 — flavor of the sunchokes were overpowered by the nduja but I didn’t mind as much since I enjoyed the flavor and uniqueness of this ingredient Crust across the board was good and had no complaints or praises Overall Thoughts A solid neighborhood pizza joint that I would be happy to have in my area but not necessarily on my top 5 places to go

With all those Zagat-rated and People Love Us on Unilocal stickers plastered on Gialina Pizzeria’s front window, I was eager to see what all the hype was about. We found parking right in front of the restaurant and were seated immediately on a Saturday night, albeit it was a couple hours before closing. We started off with an appetizer: the crispy pork belly and chard over polenta. The pork belly was deliciously smokey and lean, with slightly crispy charred edges. The creamy polenta paired nicely with the flavorful pork belly. The raw, bitter arugula and cooked chard helped balance the richness of pork belly as well. Since Gialina’s pizzas(which they call«pies») are thin-crust, we ordered two: the Margherita and the Amatriciana. Unfortunately, the Margherita was huge a disappointment. The dough was soggy in the middle from all the sauce, so slices couldn’t be held in a non-awkward manner. The cheese was dispersed throughout the pizza instead of being in dollops. Fresh basil leaves were also lackluster and wilted. However, the Amatriciana was very satisfying. Salty and savory from the pancetta, mildly spicy from the chilies, and deliciously creamy from the runny egg yolk, this pie was definitely a favorite of the night due to well-rounded flavor. The crusts were also light and crispy. Out server Heidi was very friendly and quick, as well as the rest of the staff. Gialina is a small to mid-sized restaurant that comfortably seats parties of 2 – 4. They’re not good for large groups of 6+, especially because they don’t accept reservations.
