I really can’t say enough good things about this gallery. The owner/curator James Geras is a talented photographer in his own right, with a keen ability to spot fresh talent. Many artists get their start at Geras Tousignant — which means you have a chance to purchase beautiful art at an affordable price from artists soon to hit the world stage. Upsides: awesome owner! Downsides: James does it all, so call before you show up just to make sure the space is open.

Shiiiit, what a CHARMING-ASSLIL’ ARTGALLERY. I rolled up in this place for my buddy Matt«Triggers» Trygve’s art show. He’s a talented poet, illustrator, etch-maker. The youngest to show at last night’s opening by about 20 years(okay, maybe 15). I don’t get to see him often enough since he moved to NYC, but he comes home from time to time, & last night was a big night for him. The space is cozy, clean & nicely laid out. Plenty of sidewalk space out front for chatting. The art was great, a bunch of friends rolled in for the show, & there was FREECHAMPAGNE&TRUFFLESALLNITE. Definitely more suited for an older crowd, but that’s way more indicative of the ‘hood in question than of the gallery itself. Love this place.

where are the 10 stars? I LOVELOVELOVELOVE these two(Geras and Tousignant, otherwise known as James and Daniel). The art? yes, spectacular, of course, but these two gentlemen are just that — gentlemen by every sense of the word. And fun. And smart. And philanthropic(they donate their space for non-profit events). LOVE love. love. them. Have bought 3 pieces here so far and will definitely return(plus, you can grab an excellent lunch at Myth Café across the street). KKB

This is such a charming gallery in the heart of the Jackson antique square. The owners are these two fabulous and sweet artists– one a photographer and the other a painter. Geras’ beautiful black and white photography often features European countrysides– typically French. They’re positively dreamy pieces– like you are walking through a dream sequence. Tousignant’s landscapes and trees are very reminiscent of 15th century Dutch painting, with tempura crackleur finish. I think he actually does work with tempura, though I’m not sure. Beautiful works– timeless little gems. And both still affordable, but not for long. These shows sell out fast.
