CLOSED! Sad to say, I went passed one of my favorite lil deli’s, Gastronom, 2 weekends ago, and the store was empty and closed. It was always a treat to walk through, shop, pick up some goodies, and say Hello. No sign on the door. Don’t know what happened. Sad.

Staff is very friendly. It’s a small cozy place to pick up some delicious Russian dishes. I love coming here to the personalize touch.

First time I tried Russian food. Checked out everything in the store and just tried snack before lunch but it was interesting and able to learn culture. Tried small apple pancake and chocolate with nuts, and sesame snack. Yummy. People there are friendly. I will plan to try more Eastern Europe and Russian food.

Well, just got back from this place. Unfortunately, Russians are«Russians» everywhere. I’ve been to this place a few times before, but never has the conversation turned this bad: Me: Hi. I’ve parked kinda badly, so I am going to be quick(said with a smile as I grabbed some pelmeni and milk; I was on a motorcycle). Seller: What do I care. Me(surprised): Well, just saying… Seller: Who talks like this? Am I supposed to rush because of you? Me: I didn’t ask you to rush, I just said I am the one being quick because I grabbed only a few items. Seller: Whatever. Then she grabbed my items and quietly scanned them. That last«whatever» did it for me. Sadly, these people brought the same Russian manners to this country. This was the last time I visited this store. Go here if you want your day ruined. :(

I had the beef piroshki and my wife had the potato piroshki. Both were absolutely delicious! However both of ours were cold, and even though we asked to have our piroshkis to be microwaved, they were still cold. Also, it’ doesn’t seem like the cleanest environment for food to be served. But if you can overlook those nitpicks, I’d definitely go back there for more.

I will preface this by saying I know nothing of Russian food and what it is supposed to be like. I lost my Pirozhki virginity thanks to Gastronom and it was delicious! I had the beef Pirozhki and the potato one and I loved the flavor for both. They were fresh and easy to reheat. I also had the Russian beet salad which was very good. The elderly ladies at the counter were very nice and helpful — with enough kindness I felt warmly welcome and enough(smiley) condescension I knew they were taking their Russian food seriously. All I can say is while I can’t compare it to other places, this is a wonderful place on the merits. Recommended!

This is a small shop with very few options. Cheese, fish, some minor provisions like crackers and jams. Overall, is not well-stocked and the freshness is questionable. Many of its items are also carried by other Russian stores in the area so I really have no idea why you would choose to come here. Wish I could comment on the service but the one woman behind the deli counter didn’t acknowledge my presence and the other was on her cell phone placing an order the entire time of my visit.
