Feji’s

I went to a marathon party at Mandela Parkway and 18^th Street in Oakland today to cheer on the runners with rideSFO and their neighbors. Feji’s was grilling up chicken wings and beef. I got the beef (only $ 4!). It was tender and well-​seasoned. I told the chef that I wanted it spicy, and it definitely had some good heat! He was really friendly and threw a free chicken wing in with my order, which was also delicious. I would recommend Feji’s for any event!

Yep, I’m a fan. He was recommended by a co-​worker, so after trying (almost) everything on his menu (2 – 3 times!) I decided he’d be a good fit for a catering event at my company. So, this past week 22 employees who work for a high-​profile client in the city enjoyed his delicious Feji’s and plaintains during a business meeting. His business cards were snapped up by the employees afterwards.
On the catering menu:
Vegetarian Feji’s, Chicken Feji’s & Beef Feji’s. He has a way with mushrooms that make the veg Fejis sing in your mouth, the chicken is impossible to put down and once you’ve finished 1 you go for another, & the beef shines through without being overly «meaty». Each has its own distinct taste and kick. I saw people go back for 2nds & 3rds!
The plaintains were good, but I think the quantity I had him prepare (enough for 30 people) compensated the quality a bit. The bottom plaintains were more oily than the top, but that’s what happens to food on the bottom! Nevertheless, there were absolutely no leftovers… let me repeat that…
A total of 90 Feji’s (30 of each variety above) and a tray of plaintains were devoured by my staff, & I received many compliments after he left.
Take a chance & use him for your next catered event. It’s a fantastic change from the normal, deli-​style tray or boxed lunch option for meetings. I can see this being very popular for festivals, holidays, birthday celebrations and any event where you want to bring the «different» to your guests… this is San Francisco, isn’t it?
