We started going to Dreams several years ago when we discovered they do a great job cleaning down sleeping bags. We have 5. Then we learned about all of their other services. They have made a few great down comforters for us which were built to our requirements. They also do custom drapes and bedding. Their selection of fabrics is quite amazing. Upholstery is also within their scope of work. They(Letsy and Mario) are extremely accommodating. They actually fabricated a brown leather shift boot for my 1983 Toyota pickup. Now who else would even bother with that?! Most importantly they are a lot of fun if you loosen up and enjoy your project. We actually miss them when we have not gone there for a while. The quality of their work and their interest in satisfying the customer is excellent.

I went to Dreams about 8 weeks ago, some one told me we should check it out, we needed a Duvet cover, bed skirt and pillows, I was in the area so I stopped by. My first impression was very good, Large show room lots of displays and fabric choices. It reminded me of the days when Families had their independent business and hired qualified employees. I was greeted professionally with a friendly smile they weren’t busy at the time so I lucked out and explained to them what we were looking to do, Letsy who I was talking with took all my contact info, we looked at a few fabrics I showed her a pillow from our current set. We set up for a home visit so Letsy could get the feel of our décor. Letsy came by with her associate Mario, they brought lots of Fabrics and Ideas, they left several fabrics that we thought would be good choices so we could have them to think about. We spent lots of time discussing Ideas with them, they both are very good listeners they don’t try to push you or sell you we liked the exchange. In the end the final products turned out fantastic, we liked the new Duvet cover and pillows better than our old one which we loved for 19 years, the custom bed skirt is so elegant ! just what we were Dreaming of, we also had them do 2 other small projects and they turned out great. I don’t want to go on and on but Letsy and Mario are really, really good at what they do, hard workers, dedicated to customer satisfaction and they listen ! We are totally Satisfied and we all had some fun to. If we have future projects at home we will call Dreams and we do Highly recommend them. We give them 5 Stars, Well Deserved !!! Thank You Letsy & Mario

Dreams is really fantastic. I’ve had pillows, bench pads and curtains done here and all turned out looking terrific. Rest assured you will get quality work done by a professional team who really know their products. They are also reasonably priced and will work with you to ensure the work is within your budget. I look forward to using them again for my next project!

I have to agree with one of the previous reviewers — that this place is a «hidden gem». Our experience right from the beginning was wonderful with them. We came in with somewhat of a challenge for them — two down comforters with heavenly down, purchased some years ago in Germany — that we wanted to have cleaned and the down transferred into one large, custom comforter. Their customer service, attention and focus were top notch at all points, with good ideas and suggestions to keep the price reasonable and still end up with luxurious quality. I was honestly surprised that this level of workmanship and attention to detail wasn’t more expensive. I felt we got an excellent value. In short I would recommend Dreams to anyone — and am a completely satisfied and happy customer!

Uh, no. Do yourself a favor and go somewhere, ANYWHERE else. I spent more than a grand at this place and their customer service was horrible. I bought down pillows and a mattress set. Long story short, I was dissatisfied w my mattress which had a «lifetime warranty»; only 2 nights after the thing was delivered, I called Dreams and was hoping there was something they could do for me. I was mistaken, they had no intention on helping me at all. They were completely inconsiderate and flippant.

Bedding: A Dream deferred. I bought a duvet from Pottery Barn several months ago, but without a dust ruffle. So after reading the glowing reviews I had to drop in after work… since my place of employment is a mere 3 blocks away. I walked in at about 4:30 — 4:45 this afternoon. Linens and bedding looked great. I saw a myriad of fabric on the wall. I was excited. I had brought a sample of my existing duvet with hopes that they could help me find something to coordinate. I was set on a custom dust ruffle and some pillows. Unfortunately, I walked in. Smiled at the busy associate and continued to peruse. A few things before I continue: 1) the associate was apparently helping another customer, though not the entire time that I was there– and I was there 2) there didn’t appear to be anyone else working the store. However, the associate saw me. She kind of gave me an awkward look. I said hello and she ignored me. I tried to ask her a question and she quickly by passed me and locked the door from the inside. Now it could not have been later than 5pm and according to their website they close at 6pm. I’m not sure if the store website is inaccurate or if they were closing early or if she was trying to push me out. This to me is no excuse. I worked in retail and customer service, so I tend to be fairly sympathetic. BUT the store was completely empty except for me and one other customer and the associate still ignoring me is just bad. really bad. worse yet, after wandering the store for 15 mins. with no help – the sales associate then stood 2 feet away from the door and watched me walk toward the door and didn’t even offer to unlock the door so I could get out. i will probably try to come here again… just because custom bedding sounds great… but the service thus far has been far from dreamy.

I know, big ugly guys shouldn’t be that excited about a duvet, but guess what, I am! I love my bed, and I love to sleep. I have a giant king size bed and we were in need of a new down comforter. I have seen this place in passing and been inside, but never with something specific that I needed. I went in and took a look around and was helped by a nice young lady. First, off they have so many choices it’s almost a bad thing, but the service is good and they help get you going in the right direction. We picked a comforter, pillows and all that stuff. I have a bad neck and have a terrible time sleeping on new pillows. They told me that they will add or remove down from my pillow to make it exactly how I want. AREYOUKIDDING! Custom pillows! Then to pick a duvet… that’s a comforter cover for all you that aren’t in the know like I am… now. They have rows of fabric samples. They will have you pick what you like, and then they will make it for you. CUSTOMMADEDUVET! GETOUTOFTOWN! I know it’s true though! So here’s the kicker. We went to Bed Bath and Beyond and found some very cheap, and they felt cheap(like sand paper), duvet’s in the $ 100-$ 200 range. They also had ones that were significantly more. At Dreams, they could make you a plain duvet out of two high quality sheets for $ 150 up to making you fancy pants duvets for $ 400. So, I know $ 400 is a lot, but if you take into consideration that they will make you exactly what you want, it’s just not that bad. The other great service they have is they will wash you down products. Comforters, pillow etc and they have a facility to wash them correctly and it’s cheap. They can also add or take out down to any product to make you warmer or cooler. All in all, this place rocks. The show room is nice, the people are great and my bed has never been so comfy! They also sell beds upstairs.

I’ve decided to take the plunge & update some of my furniture which includes a much beloved wing back chair which has seen better days. I was surprised to find this hidden gem in downtown SF. They have a wide selection of fabric to choose from & nice staff. They’ll loan you a few fabric books in exchange for a carbon copy of your credit card. You can email them a picture of your furniture for a quote/estimate. There are other considerations too-in-house or order fabric, piping, skirt, cushion type but you can sort all that when you visit. I’m looking forward to seeing my traditional chair updated with some snazzy modern fabric(oooo…ultra suede); Should be back in about a month or so. They will also pick up & deliver too, for a fee. I’ll report back when the chair gets her beauty makeover! 07.18.07 Update: It look a little longer & cost a bit more but the wait was worth it. The chair arrived today. I’m in love… it’s so beautiful; I want to throw a party for it! Incredibly comfy and snazzy, ultra luxurious. They did amazing upholstery work(the piping and tufting are spot on). Thank you for bringing back such a beloved piece of art & fond memories of my grandfather! I highly recommend this place. M-F 10 – 6, S 10 – 4

Soft, pillowy goodness… I love this store. I actually bought a mattress from them a while back, and it was very reasonably priced. They also offered me a discount on linens when I made my purchase. In addition to quality linens, bedding and the like, they also offer custom sewing… nice. I never hear of this store from anyone, so I sometimes wonder how much business they pull in. They’ve got the goods to deserve a loyal following, though. It’s always the first place I go when I’m looking for a good bed.
