Eh. It’s inside holiday inn. We arrived late. Wanted food at midnight. Sweet it’s open. Only few tables so we are seated fast. José was our server, kept on top of drink refills. Food came out fast. But food was over priced. We don’t actually like dennys but it was late and convenient. Coke was 3.89, shakes were 7.50(really?), most meals were 15.00(in austin these are less than 10 bucks). They also have signs saying 3%fee for health care Family of 4 was 81 bucks plus tip. really? 100 for breakfast?

I was staying at the Holiday Inn, which offers very little in terms of complimentary beverages and snacks — no coffee, no fruit, no cookies — so I was happy to a 24-hour Denny’s in the same building. Until I asked for a fountain soda, size small, and they told me it would be $ 4.50. FOURDOLLARS and FIFTYCENTS. For a small cup of fountain soda. Nearby brunch places offer fresh-squeezed orange juice for less. This is clearly one of those establishments that stays in business by soaking tourists. Go to one of the Wharf’s awesome independent restaurants for diner food. If you’re staying at the hotel, stock up on drinks and snacks before you turn in for the night. There is no reason to pay these prices.

Expensive poor quality, bacon and hash browns not cooked well. Poor service and mis-direction given as to where bathrooms are for Dennys customers from Dennys staff and hotel staff as the businesses are in same building.

Was combing past previous check-ins and came across my trip to SF… The one glaring check-in that drew the most ire was a trip to the Denny’s located near the Wharf that my buddy and I tried for a quick brunch one morning. First of all, the biggest red flag was that the owners of the establishment apparently took it upon themselves to redact parts of the Denny’s menu! EVERY Denny’s I’ve been to in the past has had the 2−4−6−8 deal on the menu; their version of a «dollar menu». Imagine our surprise when this page was complete missing on all menus. Upon asking our waitress, who was very pleasant, we learned they had in fact purposefully removed that listing! I get it, it’s San Francisco and everything is expensive, however being located this close to the Wharf, I can walk two blocks and eat like a king at any of the seafood street vendors for a reasonable price… Why am I paying $ 10 for two eggs and toast?! Had this been some«upscale» or downtown location, MAYBE I could excuse it… But this was downright ridiculous. Aside from the suspect menu and prices, the food itself was not terrible and it was relatively clean. The location is attached to a hotel which may have something to do with the shady pricing and menu but it still doesn’t justify it.

I came here not expecting much, but wanted a budget meal. The Cali Club Sandwich was pretty good(no complaints). The service was decent for a Denny’s. They checked in, but mostly spent their time sitting around chatting at empty tables and at the bar. I’m not offended, but it’s not very professional.

Hit or miss. First day, ordered to go, got what we ordered right on time. Second day, one of two meals was wrong. Receipt had the right items, but the food given was not the same. Too bad we only found out after bringing the food back to our room.

Okay, their prices are undeniably inflated here. While the food came quick, the quality just didn’t seem to be there. My bacon was awful and about the width of my straw. The service was ok, definitely not anything spectacular though. It’s a good place to go if you’re walking toward Fisherman’s Wharf and starving, but I would much rather go to a local café instead for better food and prices.

Worst service ever! The people that works there are all Hispanic who speak broken English. They only cater to Hispanics or elderly white folks! The Manager needs to stop hiring these people and hire those who are attentive, willing to serve anyone, and speaks English fluently! We’ve been here twice. First time, the waitress walked by multiple times until my husband was present then she pretended to assist us. Second was the worst EVER! The waitress walked by a million times and never assist us but the Hispanic people across from us. We’ve waited approximately almost an HOUR! I told my husband for us to leave but it was New Year’s Day and most restaurants were close plus the kids were getting hungry. I finally walked up to front were they were just talking to each other doing nothing and told them we’re ready to order. This Hispanic lady looks like she’s in her early 50’s and speaks broken English with a pound of makeup on. She is the worst ever, she got our order wrong, never bother to stop by, and have someone else bring us our tab because she knew we were upset. We were charged for her mistake as well! Two younger white teen sat beside us and left too because of her poor service. She never walked by their table either. The manager needs to take this into consideration and kick her and most of these waiter/waitress out or he/she will be losing a lot of customers.

I’m being pretty generous giving 2 stars. My family and I are on vacation and we wanted a familiar and cheap place go eat for breakfast/late night dessert. Saturday 12⁄26: We got seated right away because there weren’t very many people. However, service was incredibly slow. There were probably about 5 – 7 other people there besides my family. It was just OK. Monday 12⁄28: Now this day was annoying. Of course we went during the breakfast rush, so we knew we were in for a long wait. HOWEVER, one family decided to cut in front of everyone and try to scoot people over at the counter so they could all sit. THEN one waitress just allowed them to get a table that just opened EVENTHOUGHTHEYCUTINFRONTOFEVERYONEINLINE. My mother definitely gave the host an earful about the whole situation, but the kid clearly didn’t care. After being seated, our waitress took awhile to get our drink and food order. I had a feeling she was new, and it turned out that was her first day. We gave her a good tip since we could tell she was trying her best. Overall, let’s be real. It’s Denny’s.

Now normally I could not imagine giving a Denny’s any more than 3 stars. I mean come on; it’s a Denny’s. In this case though, I’m bumping to four. I’ve been in the Wharf area all week, & I’ve eaten breakfast here every day… mostly because I’m waking up REALLY early every day & Denny’s is open 24 hours. Besides that though, the food has been hot, fresh, & perfectly prepared every day. Maybe the menu isn’t the healthiest option around, but it’s been very predictable & consistently good What gives the extra star though is a high service quality. Every day I’ve had a different server, & each has been pleasant, helpful, & accommodating to anything I needed. Obviously this Denny’s is well run.

I’M NOTSUREWHERETOBEGIN So I’ll start with Service: Our server clearly needs to find another line of work. When he approached our table the first words were«Know what ya want»? Not«Hello…I’m ______and I’ll be serving you today. May I get you something to drink while you look over the menu»? Totally unprofessional. Second: The busboy was clearing dishes from nearby tables and seeming to try to be as loud as possible. Dishes banging, silverware tossing, and food flying off plates and landing on tables, benches, and the floor. This went on for several tables. Craziness. Third: The Food. When I ordered the burger, no «How would you like that cooked»? It arrived overly well done… the patty was a mess. The side of bbq sauce I asked for had to be asked for repeatedly. I ate because I was hungry… not because it was good. It really wasn’t. The pancakes for my daughter seemed ok I guess. She ate some and left some. My wife had the fit slam… left half on the plate. Fourth: Pricing. Extremely pricey. Way too pricey. One would think that for that kind of money they could hire some quality personnel. And they should. But they didn’t, and their wait staff, from what I can see, is poorly trained. During our meal, a waitress was seated in a booth… doing…nothing? I dont recall seeing any food. But even if there was, the last place the wait staff should be eating is in the dining room. Again… just unprofessional all the way around. This was the worst Denny’s experience I have ever had anywhere. And I’ve eaten my share of meals at Denny’s. In fact, I want an apology for being forced to endure this horrible experience and waste an hour of my life, and for being gouged by a menu that has clearly lost all sense of reality in terms of pricing. My 15.99 burger… was a joke.

I’m giving it a 3, but it’s more of a 2.5 I actually did not have bad service here and I don’t think I ever have, so that may make me a bit on the luckier side. Whenever we frequent SF we stay near Pier 39 and Denny’s is a convenient breakfast place when we need something quick and fast before we head out. Unfortunately prices seem like they’re just getting more and more expensive. If it’s that convenient for you and your family come here. I can only speak on breakfast, which has never been awful. But if you have time I’d definitely Unilocal and try something else. There’s a lot of great local places that’d be a lot more fun than giving money to this cheap food chain. Our service was actually quick. Our server was nice. But the food is meh. I had a fit something breakfast, egg whites, spinach, tomatoes, with avocado I think and an english muffin with turkey bacon. Wasn’t bad. It’s nothing I can’t make at home, but it’s convenient. Brother tried the cinnamon cream cheese frosting pancakes… not gonna lie. Those were preeeetty good. And mother had a typical all american brekkie with some over medium eggs, toast and bacon. Depending on your experience it could be horrific, okay, or good. But you’re in San Francisco! Live a little and make walk a little farther and you’ll find some spectacular breakfast spots that you would much rather be supporting!

$ 15 for a Cali chicken club sandwich it’s NEW must be great and it must be huge… Apparently not. Overpriced cheap food in a convenient location. Could’ve got something much better for $ 15 at another restaurant. Just look at how small this corner of bread is.

Apparently everyone else is receiving horrible service here. Luckily for me, I didn’t have that issue. I ordered the prime rib Cobb salad with basaic vinaigrette. The meat was super tender, and the portion was huge. Vegetables all tasted fresh too.

Horrible service! We had asked our server if they do the free bday grand slam and she said«yes, pick your what you want on it». Then when she gives us the bill and we question why it was not free she says«I never told you that! We don’t do the free bday here». She also did not know what the coffee refill policy was. We had to request for the manager who comped us the entrée. Won’t be back! This Denny’s is way more expensive than other Denny’s bc if it’s location. And the portion sizes are smaller! Not worth it!

WORSTDENNYSINTHEWHOLEWIDEWORLD. They First of all, our hostess is so rude. She looked upset that we bothered her. She told us to sit in our corner. She didn’t even walk us there. The service here is SLOW. S L O W. No one comes help you unless your raise your hand for a good 30 minutes. Now the food… If you’re looking for a block of plastic salmon, carpet tasting steak or some microwaveable oven, this is your place. Otherwise, steer clear. I am currently writing this post with a stomach ache. I was able to give them my card… barf out all my food and then come back. They still didn’t come back with my card. I understand it is a Denny’s, but I am actually a fan of Denny’s. They gave Denny’s a bad name.

«Denny’s is not a place you go to on purpose… it is the place you end up.» Line by Robin Williams(I think). It’s Denny’s. Don’t expect much. Jacked up prices for the tourists is a big turn off.

If you are reading this review right now, you are probably up at 2 am in San Francisco and super hungry. Let me just save you some trouble right now: hit that back button on your Unilocal app right now and look for another late night joint. I’ll have saved you from spending $ 20 for the worst food ever. I been to this Denny’s and I shall never be back.

Very expensive($ 15 burger & fries), and no free Birthday Grand Slam! ;-(We sat down, were served water, and ended up walking right back out after seeing the menus. Really no point of going to this location unless you haven’t had Denny’s in 30 years and can’t wait to get to another one. And I LOVE Denny’s. Avoid.

Stop. Why are you reading a review for Denny’s while you’re in San Francisco, surrounded by so many great food options around Fisherman’s Wharf? What is it about Denny’s that has you considering going here? Is it… 1. The price? It shouldn’t be. This Denny’s charges way more than any other Denny’s I’ve been to. We’re talking $ 11+ for a basic pancake, hash brown, sausage and egg meal that you can get at any other Denny’s for around $ 6. We saw mentions on the corporate sent paper placemats mentioning the 2−4−6−8 value menu, but no menu for it. I highly doubt it exists here. 2. The food quality? Denny’s is generally okay food. The food here was crap. Maybe it was an off day, but in our group of six none of us had warm food. 3. The service? Service wasn’t great. Lots of sitting around waiting for refills, getting cold food, getting eggs done the wrong way, getting half of the meal with no sign of the rest, etc. I can’t think of any other reason you would consider going to Denny’s. You are surrounded by good food at the same or better price. We stayed across the street from this Denny’s, went there on our first morning in town because it was the first thing we saw, and then never went again. Denny’s was easily our most expensive breakfast as well as our worst breakfast. Go somewhere else. There are a decent amount of breakfast places nearby that will charge you less, treat you better, and give you excellent food. I’ll give them credit for one thing… they had a really good brand and bottle of hot sauce. I can’t remember what it was though, but it saved my eggs and hash browns from being sent back.
