Meh, when I’m really in a bind, it will do, as it is the absolute closest place to my office. I’ve never really gotten anything here and said«man, that was good». The décor hasn’t been updated since the 80’s and it’s actually a pretty depressing little café. The Japanese curry was bland, the egg sandwich was below average, and the sushi – well I’m not gonna try the sushi here. With such prime real estate, I wonder why something better hasn’t taken it’s place.

Definitely a humble deli, but I’ve never had a bad meal — the food and salad bar and custom made sandwiches are always ‘fresh’. I recently had their sushi and it was surprisingly tasty and fresh. Best of all, they have authentic Korean food! The friendliness of Susan, Tony and Sam(chef) is reminiscent of the type of ‘familiar friendliness’ we all look for in a neighborhood deli.

I think the only place in SOMA with Japanese curry(during lunch on Fridays)!

I’m torn, I have days where I am in no mood for Delicia and then I have days where it’s a perfectly acceptable option. What I like: The Staff — Generally pretty friendly and attentive Bay Bridge Club — My favorite sandwich Most of the daily specials, I like that they mix it up It’s super close to my office What I dislike: A tad pricey. A times the quality of the food seems to vary. The rest of the daily specials, at time really just boring options. Overall, this place is okay, but that’s just it, it’s nothing special and in a neighborhood with a lot of options nothing special generally gets passed over for something else.

For all you folks who work in the area… you all know how limited our selection for lunch options… and so when the boss discovered Korean food… WHOA… definitely had to check that out! Hole in a wall — yep… do they serve Korean food… YEP… is it pricey… YEP but what else can you expect in the area. Something’s gotta give! The food was ok… not mind blowing but it’ll suffice.

A bit pricey, but I don’t really come here for anything but their tasty B.L.T. for lunch. And it is worth it because of the convenience of being closely located in the same block as my office. I’ve always experienced really great service here, I really like the Korean couple that own this place. They seem really humble and friendly whenever I come in. So either way, i’m sold. And until the day that my cholesterol-levels spike, i’ll continue to come here for more prospective B.L.T.s. *Knock-on-wood.

For a non-organic deli, I couldn’t ask for much more. I had a pretty good veggie sandwich and they added avocado by default, which was AWESOME. $ 10 got me out the door with a sandwich, Snapple and Clif Bar. I only wish they cared a little more about their ingredients, because it’s a bit close to grocery store quality. As to the other reviews, it is indeed a bit of a sad looking place but it seemed perfectly clean and everyone was quite polite. That said, when I came back from Delicia, all my coworkers said«ewww» — either they know something I don’t know, or not eating meat has benefits.

the main thing i can vouch for is their bibimbap and bulgogi which they just recently started serving. fresh veggies, good meat, and the right amount of rice. mmm! i often crave rice and meat for lunch so this hits the spot among all the sandwich places in the area. i’m a happy camper. i no longer have to go to HRD on 3rd or the Store on the Corner on new montgomery for Korean food. i’m also glad they put the sauce and kimchee on the side too so i can pick how much i want with my food. very nice people that work here too!

A weird mixture of foods: Korean, sushi, salad bar, deli. You can even make Korean sandwiches. It’s a little overwhelming. Or maybe underwhelming because the ingredients don’t look extraordinarily fresh(esp the salad/sushi). The Asian couple working there is friendly and cute. Very sweet people. Got the eggplant melt with cheese, cucumbers, lettuce, tomatoes, bean sprouts, and onions. With mayo and mustard for some extra kick. Nicely toasted bread, though the ingredients were stacked a little high so everything didn’t stick together so well when I ate it. The eggplant was good but could’ve been cooked even softer. The mayo was a little strong and added a bit of a weird flavor. Avocado was supposed to be extra and I’d already paid, but the guy was nice enough to add the topping anyway. Also got vermicelli noodle salad. not bad, maybe a tiny bit stale.

They are so friendly, and I really do appreciate the selection, but they are so expensive for what the food actually is.. .and a lot of the food is underwhelmingly tasteless. Every few months I keep going back because I crave something only they have, but then I get disappointed again. Take the wonton soup or the bimbimbob for example, so expensive, and so not worth it. I suggest just going to Lee’s, HRD, or the place on 2nd and Harrison that called you«sweetie pie.» Did I say they were super friendly, though?

BLTROCKS and every morning I get Cream Cheese and Raisin bagel and they already know what I want. they are also very friendly. But they are also very $$$. Will come back for more. –1 star for prices and so little for what you pay.

I have experience better. Wish the lettuce on the salad bar was not soaking in water. More importantly I wish they used gloves when handling the food! Convenient since i work right here… but expensive for what you get.

Echoing other Unilocalers: low ratings aren’t justified. All I know is two friendly people waited patiently as I made up my mind(often a long process), and even though I ordered only one sandwich, pretty much got enough chicken teriyaki and veggies to fill two sandwiches. I’d be lying if I didn’t say it was delicious.

Delicia is pretty much what you want in a good deli — it has a bit of everything, it’s fast, the people are friendly, and the prices are reasonable. The best part is that it has a little bit of everything — sandwiches, meals of the day, pop, candy, salad bar, you name it. At times with so much it may be a bit limited(except when it comes to sandwiches), but you get so much there’s always a choice. What makes Delicia work is that it does a lot right and doesn’t have any real flaws — it’s a deli/restaurant with some diversity and pretty good food served by nice people. You won’t take a date there or grab a fancy gourmet meal — but that’s not their goal, they just want you to have a good lunch fast.

I can’t rate this place more than 3 stars, although I wish I could. I would love to rate it 5⁄5 stars for the category«exactly what I need at exactly the right moment». No, I won’t spend my hours and seconds of every day waiting for my meal at Delicia, but when I was in need of a quick bite, Delicia delivered. I hate people that say too expensive when they are dealing with food in the city. EVERYTHING in the city is pricey and we can’t be too picky when it comes to this matter. Ike’s is similar in price and obviously a more well-rounded, amazing experience, but Delicia shouldn’t be faulted for its shortcomings. It is located in a pretty much unknown spot where the freeway entrance is. Anything next to a freeway entrance usually spells BAD to most people. Given these«ugly duckling-like» problems, the food isn’t bad, in fact, its pretty decent. I had a pulled-pork sandwich and I wasn’t expecting much. Just starving on my way to an interview between class, I needed something to fill my stomach, and fast. The first thing I saw was the my bread was over-toasted, in fact it looked burnt… The husband working asked his wife burnt? to which she replied: «nope» and handed him the toast. My mind immediately began racing, pondering how I would make this place pay on Unilocal for having my bread so wrongfully mistreated. Then the sandwich was made, and I took a bite. To my surprise, it was perfectly fine and completely satisfied my taste buds. The bread was nicely crunchy but not obviously carcinogenic. The sandwich was actually good with the pulled pork being very tasty and tender. I sat at the café wondering how lucky I was to come across Delicia. Here I was seeking something quick, and I had found something more. Maybe the next time I return, the circumstances will change. Expectations having risen, the food may fall short. But when you are looking for a quick bite to eat, Delicia will be there and shouldn’t do you wrong. The road less traveled(next to the freeway) isn’t always full of terrible surprises.

Delicia is great for what it is: a quick deli and snack stop for locals. I’m disappointed to see all the low ratings! It’s family owned and the staff is incredibly nice. The food is ¼ asian, ¼ mexican, ¼ american, and ¼ pre-packaged snacks. You can literally find anything from salad bar fixings to won ton soup to enchiladas to clif bars. I personally enjoy their korean-style glass noodles and selection of Naked Smoothies and Green Teas. I wouldn’t go here with high expectations, but it does the job of filling hungry tummies with a healthy variety of food and snacks.

This place is sad. Another spot I visit strictly because it is right by my office and my lunch break is short. And I swear that one meal I ate here made me violently ill(as in, crapping-my-pants-while-driving-across-the-bridge sick). My favorite qualities in a restaurant(clean, fresh and tasty) are lacking at Delicia. The basket they keep their hard boiled eggs in makes me almost barf when I catch a glimpse of it. If you are into room temperature cold cuts, tepid /congealed teriyaki bowls and sadness, this is your place. On the plus side, the people who work here are very nice… although the cashier lady can be really, really rude to both customers and employees on occassion. Guess that’s why people who work there seem to always quit with no notice. Another spot to skip unless you are nearby and desperate.

I’ve been here too many times only because of its convenience and how nice the folks are that work there. I don’t really like going to Delicia’s because it looks like it needs a good scrub-down, beginning with the floors to the walls to the ceilings– i dont even want to go in the kitchen. I get the chicken teriyaki special with salad and rice. I like it, its nothing special. I feel that their prices are kind of high though, despite my teriyaki special. Their breakfast sandwiches are high priced too, but I’ve stopped going there entirely for breakfast. This is a place to go if you are nearby and need sustinence. Its not anything special, and I’d look elsewhere first. There are better options for breakfast and lunch in this area.

I came here every day for about 3 months when work was really busy and I had to eat at my desk. My favorite item is this cold pasta dish with corn and black pepper. The other food here isn’t really that good, but they make tasty grilled eggplant sandwiches. Everyone who works here is so nice, and sometimes I get free bananas that are past their prime because they know I like ‘em spotty.
