Curbside

This relates to curbside used at Targets in the East Bay (Emeryville and Albany). In each case, despite the app telling us the order was ready and our location tracking being activated on the phone, nobody came to the car with the order. In each case, we either had to notify a passing employee (not associated with the service) or just go into the store to pick up our order. What’s the point? It seems like a good idea, but it’s not well organized. Too bad, as it would help if it worked. By the time you get out of your car and go inside for your order, you might as well just go to the store. What’s the point?

My boyfriend and I both tried out this service for the first time. We purchased separate items from Target and picked them up 2 hours later. The next day I happened to be at Target and noticed that the items we purchase were discounted. I opened the Target receipt that was sent to me and discovered that although Target applied the discount, curbside still charged us full price for them. So not only did curbside scam us, if I wanted to return my purchase, I wouldn’t get my full amount back from Target. We ended up losing out on $ 10. For $ 10, I would have just parked the car and went inside. It’s one thing to know about this and be okay with it and a whole other story to be blindsided.

Curbside is a great way to woo shoppers back to Target who may have migrated elsewhere after the massive data breach that affected 400M+ consumers.
It’s amazing what convenience combined with a valuable service not costing a penny to have consumers like me let «bygones be bygones.»
Spurred by the $ 20 offer of free goods (you *can find it, it’s still around at least as of 2÷15÷16), I downloaded the app and began shopping.
There are a couple of glitches: One, they increased the cost of a product from «special price only available at Target» from $ 9.99 to $ 15.99 after I’d submitted my order.
Sure, I got a text an hour later alerting me to the price change before my card was charged and the order filled but it was either accept the new price — and subsequent delay for pickup –or cancel the entire order. There’s no option to tick a box and remove one item.
That’s a pretty big flaw.
Second, they were out of two basic items I’d added to my basket. Now I realize Neosporin and bandages are exotic items (cough cough) but there was also no suggestion of adding two substitutes which would’ve likely been entirely acceptable — and therefore more money to Target.
I think some coding is in order.
What is fantastic is being able to drive up to the curb by a little blue Curbside tent, roll down your window and collect your loot.
You can enable location services on your phone so they can track where your car is and your ETA so everything goes seamlessly (unless you’re afraid of Big Brother, ha ha).
I’ll definitely use this service again.

Curbside is pure magic. I put my grocery order in from the comfort of my living room and went to Pinole Target to pick it up. My groceries were waiting for me. No lines no crowds. So convenient. Quick and easy. I love it and will do it again.

Tried using the coupon, everything went fine, until credit card bill showed up. I called up customer service, did not accept their mistake and I had to cancel my order. What a waste of time…

I don’t really have time to actually go inside a target and to do my shopping since I’m a busy bee, so I typically use curbside to do most of my shopping. It’s VERY simple and I can pick it up at my earliest convenience (although there is an option for you to have someone else pick it up for you.)
I have to applaud Nathan for being a WONDERFUL curbside associate. He’s very timely when it comes to orders (he always knows I’m in a rush, so he always knows what to do.) Alongside that, he’s VERY polite when it comes to assisting customers and he makes sure customers leave VERY satisfied with their orders (I know I’m a satisfied customer; it’s the reason why I keep coming back!) There’s never a frown on his face whenever I see him working attentively at this curbside location.

I hate shopping, so any way I can avoid it I do. But I actually need to do it… or so my wife tells me. I love the convenience, ease of use and never having to leave my car. My orders are usually ready under an hour and if it is longer I will get a notification letting me know all sent directly to my phone.
A friendly bit of advice– Always wait for the text your order is ready before going to pick up. This way your order is ready and waiting when you go to pick it up.

Such a life saver if you’re in a hurry or just don’t want to deal with the madness inside target which I normally don’t want at all. Order ahead in the app and just swing buy and pick it up at the tent and all of a sudden your entire target errand run is over in a matter of seconds. Also the $ 10 off promo didn’t hurt

My only complaint is the selection is not as great. Not everything is on the site to pick up.
