This spot definitely operates on French timing. There’s only two people working two crêpe stations. They will take their time no matter what. It gets quite busy during lunch time and there’s not a lot of seating to be had. If you are in a hurry do not come here. I had La Californian that’s dark chocolate, orange zest, almond, whip cream. I was really surprised by how much dark chocolate they packed into this thing! Like melty sweet and bitter heaven. Plus the homemade whipped cream takes it over the top. Mmm, I want one right now.

Galettes with a california twist. A lot of them are lighter because they don’t have gooey cheese. At first I was wary — galettes without cheese! But they were so yummy it was okay. Only thing was without the cheese the edges were a little dry but guess that’s why they provide spicy sauce to go with. I got a seasonal special with pumpkin, goat cheese, pumpkin seeds, etc. It’s very light. Perfect for me but maybe not filling enough for hubby. Super nice people and one of the only places I know of to get a galette since the place in FiDi closed. They make it over the circular hot plate with a trowel just like I’ve seen in French creperies.

Best Brittany Crepes this side of Brest, France. Shame that the space is so small and they use only paper plates/plastic utensils. Double shame that they have no coffee at all. Sure would be lovely to enjoy an espresso shot with a sweet crêpe for dessert. Friendly, efficient service at the counter and on the crêpe griddle. Two small tables and a small countertop to dine in. I think most people grab a savory galette and/or sweet crêpe and eat it at work or home nearby. No breakfast service. Don’t show up before 11am. Note: if you don’t want gluten but do want crepes, get the savory fare here. Buckwheat crepes are naturally gluten free ;-))) delightful iced tea too.

I’ve had the Nutella Crêpe several times and it’s Awesome! This tiny café has great ambiance, just the place you want to hang out, if you want a café that feels like France. They even have french working hours: just 4 hours a day! Wow, better get your crêpe in that short tiny window of time, cuz their closed almost all the time. But hey, The crepes taste awesome and the service people are Nice, which is really great for a French Café. I love this place. I just wish they were open more often.

Authentic Brittany style crepes and galettes, cooked perfectly. The menu has some very tasty suggestions, but you can also design your own crêpe here. I often get a savory galette(L’Epicee without chorizo) for lunch, but the sweet crepes are the real stars. They always have a lacy pattern on one side that shows they’ve been cooked to perfection. My favorite sweet crêpe is Le Tatin(apples, caramel, and cinnamon). The shop is small and seems really out of place(right next to an auto mechanic). But don’t let that turn you away. It’s like a small part of France was transplanted directly into Soma, French women and all. The staff are very kind to their customers, especially repeat visitors, and I’m happy to support a local business like that.

Beautiful healthy delicious food, served by lovely French women. What more can you ask for? Seriously I’m hooked on the food served at this charming spot in SOMA. I’ve tried both the savory and sweet crepes and have been thrilled with everything I’ve tasted.

Well, we checked this out when they first opened up. It was super packed and busy!!! But the crepes… oh my goodness… I’m a sweet crêpe person, so I had: LA S’MORES: Marshmallow, Belgium Milk Chocolate, Graham Crackers!!! Then CITRON: Fresh Squeezed Meyer Lemon, Sugar & Salted Butter Prices were good and of course they were super friendly!!! Parking does suck, but they spot has tons of seating. We ate upstairs.

We caught it on the last day it was still open on weekends. Starting March 1st it’ll be weekday lunch only. The place is really small but cute and sort of French feeling, and it’s run by one woman. There was no line when we got there, but then it filled up. — The special crêpe of the day had proscuitto, crème fraîche, cheese, onion, and arugula on top. I don’t even like crème fraîche, but it worked really well into this one. — La complete: black forest ham, swiss cheese, egg(sunny side up or scrambled). I went with sunny side up for the runny yolk. The parts with him needed a bit more salt, but the crêpe was good overall. The savory buckwheat crepes create a nice texture, and the edges get sort of crisp, which I like. The crêpe is folded a little differently than the usual ones you get that are folded into a cone, so this is more of a fork and knife meal. They also had sweet crepes, but we didn’t try any of them. It’s too bad they won’t be open on weekends anymore, but I guess you can always get it catered.

They do catering but are 100% guaranteed to arrive late. Every single time they have come to our company, they were late by 30+ minutes at least. Thats like a whole lunchbreak for some people. Forget the freshly poured dough being individually made in front of you, they’re like a frozen slab of cold dough they just heat up a little, toss some packaged fruits on top, and charge you an arm and leg for.

Crêpe Madame came to my Company — BrightRoll this Tuesday for a catered breakfast of their savory and sweet crepes. I became an instant fan, so must write a review. [Review is for catered service, which is excellent!] The crew brought all of their supplies and prepared freshly-made crepes for each of us. I chose the L’Italienne crêpe, which had roasted turkey, tomatoes, mozzarella, with a mount of arugula and topped with a spicy mayo sauce. The buckwheat crêpe used was the perfect consistency. Not a bit mushy/limpy like I’ve been served at other establishments. The beautiful blend of crêpe filings was a perfect marriage dancing in my mouth. My Company has used at least 2 other creperies in the past, and Crêpe Madame was hands down THEBEST. Bonus point, they even brought music that at least temporarily transported me to a French café, and you can tell food will be good if the girls speak French to each other!

It’s been a long time since I was in Paris, but I love coming here for breakfast since the crepes and the sounds of people speaking French bring back fond memories. Everything I’ve eaten here has been delicious, from the sweet to the savory, but my favorites are La Compléte and La Tatin. The buckwheat crepes used for the savory options are tasty and substantial. The sweet crepes are light, and the fillings satisfy my sweet tooth for the rest of the day. Lastly, the service is great. The place seems entirely staffed by French young women, who are friendly and know how to make a great coffee & crêpe.

I just got back from visiting Paris recently so I was on the hunt for comparable crepes in SF. I specifically wanted crepes that were folded on the sides but open in the middle. Well Crêpe Madame makes it this way! I ordered the La Jardinière crêpe($ 9): Hummus, Fresh Spinach, Crimini sauteed Mushrooms, Bell Pepper, Tomatoes, Homemade Artichoke Pesto. It was so delicious! You have your choice of sauce to be drizzled on top(I had pesto) and it was divine. The spinach was so fresh and the outer layer of the crêpe was a bit crispy and not soggy(which I hate!). The flavors blended so well together and everything tasted so fresh fresh fresh! I also tried the Citron crêpe($ 4): Fresh Squeezed Meyer Lemon, Sugar & Salted Butter. It was light with a kick of lemon blended there(my boyfriend thought it was too lemon-y but it tasted delicious for me(I’m a citrus lover). The space is small(3 groups of 2 – 3 people max from my observations). Street parking available. Sweet staff My only recommendation for this place is to have longer hours as it closes at 2p on Saturday and is not open on Sunday.

A lovely little crêpe café. They make everything with love, I can just tell. The people there are all so nice too! I ordered the italian crêpe, which came with lettuce, turkey, mozzarella, and tomatoes. The flavor was so perfect! There is not much room to sit down here, so either arrive early(like we did) or get your crêpe to go.

What a great little spot tucked in an unassuming building on Harrison Street. I love crepes and walking in brought me back to my trip in Paris. The smells were amazing and made me want to order more than one crêpe(although I resisted). We were here for lunch so ordered the savory crepes but I’m definitely coming back for the sweet ones too. I got the L’OCÉANE and it had great flavor and just the right amount of salmon in it. My wife got the L’ITALIENNE and it was amazing. I’m getting that next time I come back here. Great spot with friendly service and even better food.

Sweet or savory, Crêpe Madame has many choices. I have a weakness for sweet crepes and their nutella and banana one hits the mark. Here’s what scored Crêpe Madame major points: 1) Perfectly proportioned nutella to banana(this is important) 2) Fresh whipped cream(definitely not out of a can) 3) French speaking staff(adds to the ambiance) Recently, I tried a sample of their savory crepes at the French Soirée and the blend of cheese, spinach, and tomato was bursting with flavor. The store is packed into a rather small space, but they have four dedicated crêpe makers ready to cook you an absolutely delicious treat.

Time: 2:47pm/63°F showers Purpose: Finishing up in the SOMA needed to get here before 4pm. They close at 4pm sharp. Ambiance: This spot use to be the Ciao Bella gelato place then another eatery be fore CM took over. Outside exterior painted pink/black with a silhouette lady. Inside wooden counter seating with matching backless round stools, sits four comfortably. Two round tables with three person seater on each. One plank sofa with couple of cushions. Walls adorned with little decos of Paris, the ever so popular Eiffel Tower, some small petite pictures. Counter with lemon water self serve, coffee warmer, tub of plastic forks and knifes tie with pink parchment paper, touch screen payment, utensils. Behind counter blackboard menu takes up the whole back wall, four crêpe maker two on each side along with metal condiment containers house with glass guards. Rolling cart with plastic tubs holding ingredients and veggies. Towel dispenser, hand sink, spray bottle cleaning solutions. Staff: Three French girls about late 20s really excited enthusiasm was in high gear. I walk in and was greeted immediately with their tone I just knew I’m in for some real good crepes. I ask to give me a moment as I introduce myself and that’s were things change. I mean in a good way. All of a sudden they’re more talkative and curious as to what I can do for a business. I couldn’t concentrate as one girl with spaghetti strap flexing her shoulder blade with all those tattoos, lord have mercy *biting lips*. Cleanliness: Grade A, immaculate. Very clean no matter what time of day. With three girls in a small place with two tables it better clean. Eats/Drinks: L’ Italienne $ 10 and L’ Tatin $ 7. Italienne was delicious nice and hot. The mozzarella cheese really comes alive when stretch reminds me of quesadillas. Thin, light and gooey. Arugula, tomatoes, turkey, and lemon chives compliments the buckwheat crêpe. Eating this was like eating a slice of mergherita pizza without the oil and crust, very healthy alternative to craving pizza. The apple tatin was good too as it was my second option for later on. Full of apple similar to that of granny smith apple rings but, in yellow gravenstein apples. Mixed with butter, caramel and cinnamon it really fills you up without the guilt. I took it to go instead, didn’t want them to think I’m a piggy. Products/Services: Breakfast crêpe, coffee, juice, salads/$ 3 – 13, savory $ 8 – 12, sweet $ 4 – 7, extra for add on’s, pick your vinaigrette: lemon, basil, balsamic. Buckwheat gluten-free crêpe. M-F 8am-4pm, Saturday 9am-2pm, Sunday closed. Catering available ask for details. Punch Lines: Girly place, cozy, genuine service, friendly, efficient, nothing over $ 13(add on extra), made to order, eat in or to go, street parking/private lot, takes all plastic, busy Harrison on ramp, opens one weekend day, early closing time, catering van next door. Tradeoffs: These crepes are not like the ones you find at carnivals or street fairs. Here you get freshly made to order with buckwheat. Price is right for the ingredients use. This place can send unprecedented experience for what a real crêpe should be. Final Thoughts: When message came through I thought what ever its another crêpe place. That’s until I enter, beyond imagination. Finally a place that can put together tasty crêpe without the artificial flavorings. Even though the place feels girly don’t let it bother you. I just went in cross my fingers hoping for the best possible outcome of having new potential clients. Doesn’t hurt to try and certainly not everyone will say yes. Thank you ladies for making me some delicious crepes today. I enjoy every moment and every bite of crêpe. Merci!!!
