Corey Head, Voice Teacher

Corey was my voice teacher about 8 – 10 years ago. He is one of the most likable, patient and caring teachers I know. He was always upbeat, enthusiastic and excited to work with me even though I wasn’t the most talented singer. He was well versed in the art of singing. I highly recommend him.

I have been studying with Corey head consistently for over 8 years now, and could not have asked for a better guide in my development as a singer.
As a process-​oriented teacher, Corey has focused my attention on a single new technique at a time, reinforcing the concept until my mind and body have accepted it as habit. The work has never felt overwhelming, and the dialogue we’ve fostered allows us to recall former lessons quickly, without the need to reinvent the wheel, so to speak.
If the art of singing matters as much to you as it does to me, you’ll probably agree that it inspires all sorts of human emotion as we struggle to master its complexity. I have cried, raged and laughed uncontrollably in front of my teacher; through it all Corey has comported himself with professionalism and compassion, creating a safe space for me to live through my experiences, experiences that have served to make me a more confident, balanced performer.
More than anything else, I appreciate Corey’s honesty. While always supportive, he has never given me false compliments. So when he looked at me one lesson, after singing through Lonely House, and said, «If you were auditioning for a job, and sang like that, you would have it», I absolutely believed him.
I highly recommend Corey to anyone seeking to improve his or her vocal technique, be it for personal pleasure or professional ambition.
